Chapter 8 - Echoes of a Forgotten Sorcery

The air around Aeltherion crackled with tension as the mysterious figure came into the moonlight. In a slow, deliberate motion, they removed the hood, revealing a face that stunned the sorcerer—calm, calculating eyes locked onto his, eyes that mirrored his own, although now youthful and unfamiliar.

"Alistair," the figure spoke his name with quiet reverence. "Your true name. I am Lilith. We... are connected."

Confusion welled up inside Aeltherion. How could this person know his true identity, a secret so fiercely guarded by both the forces of his past and present? The arcane energies swirling around her, now fully apparent, were unmistakable—they carried traces of ancient magic, a type of magic only known to those like him.

"Connected?" Aeltherion's voice was ice, but there was an undercurrent of realization. "What do you mean by that?"

Lilith smiled, a faint flicker of a memory passing behind her gaze. "The magic that bound you to this world was not of your own choosing. You may have been reborn as Alistair, but you are not the only one resurrected by the Reincarnation spell. There are others—shadow sorcerers, fragments of a forgotten covenant, who once stood beside you in the battles against humanity's darkness."

Her words echoed in Aeltherion's mind. He had been deceived once more. The path that lay ahead was not only filled with the remnants of those who had betrayed him but now involved this unseen network of sorcerers who had been hiding in the shadows, quietly pulling strings from behind the veil of history.

Lilith's smile faded, and her expression grew serious. "Your enemies are not merely the Golden Knights. The greater truth behind your fall is much larger than you could imagine. Those who erased your name have also erased theirs. But that isn't the full extent of the story, is it, Aeltherion?"

The familiar chill of prophecy washed over him. The game had changed. And Aeltherion was no longer just seeking vengeance.

Now, the true battle—one beyond revenge—was beginning. The echoes of his forgotten past were calling, and he could no longer ignore the unraveling fate that was inevitably pulling him deeper into a web of conspiracy and lost history.
