In the southern region, swarms of ghost-faced locusts, like specters, continued to ravage the land. Farmers hid inside their homes, trembling with fear, while refugees had no place to seek shelter and could only crouch on the ground, clutching their heads.
It was as if the locusts swarming the sky were not mere insects but grim reapers claiming lives.
Suddenly, the ghost-faced locusts seemed to be yanked by a force imbued with the power of the Five Elements. The buzzing of their wings abruptly ceased, and with a collective crash, all the locusts plummeted from the air.
From every corner of the southern region, a rain of insects began to fall.
People screamed in terror or froze in fear. Only when the rain of insects ceased did some gather enough courage to venture out.
