I woke up feeling refreshed and renewed, the warmth of my father's wing still lingering around me. I stretched my scales and yawned, shaking off the slumber.
My father smiled at me, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Good morning, Tharros," he said, his voice low and rumbling. "I see you're feeling better."
I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. "Thanks, Father," I said, my voice still a little rough from sleep. "I needed that."
My father nodded, his expression serious. "You've been through a lot lately, Tharros," he said. "But I'm proud of you. You're growing up to be a strong and wise dragon."
I felt a surge of pride at his words, and I smiled, feeling a sense of appreciation towards him. "Thanks, Father," I said, my voice filled with sincerity. "That means a lot coming from you."
My father smiled, his eyes shining with warmth. "I'm always here for you, Tharros," he said. "And I'll always be proud of you, no matter what."
I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at my father. He was always so supportive and encouraging, and I didn't know what I would do without him.
Just then, my mother called out from the other side of the cave. "Tharros, come and eat your breakfast!" she said, her voice echoing off the walls.
I smiled, feeling a rumble in my stomach. I was hungry, and I knew that my mother would have prepared something delicious for me.
I bid my father farewell, promising to meet him outside later for some flight practice. Then, I made my way to the other side of the cave, where my mother was waiting for me with a steaming hot meal.
As I sat down to eat, my mother smiled at me, her light green scales glistening in the soft light of the cave. "How are you feeling today, Tharros?" she asked, her voice warm with concern.
I took a bite of the delicious food she had prepared, savoring the flavors before responding. "I'm feeling better, Mother," I said, smiling at her. "I just needed some time to think and process everything."
My mother nodded, her expression understanding. "You've been through a lot lately," she said. "It's okay to take time for yourself and reflect on your experiences."
I nodded, feeling grateful for my mother's wisdom and support. As I continued to eat, my siblings began to stir, their voices filling the cave as they greeted each other and started their day.
Lyriath, my younger brother, came over to me, his navy blue and dark red scales glinting in the light. "Hey, Tharros," he said, his voice deep and rumbling. "What's up?"
I smiled at him, feeling a sense of camaraderie with my brother. "Not much, Lyriath," I said. "Just enjoying breakfast and getting ready for the day."
Lyriath nodded, his eyes sparkling with interest. "I'm going to go find Vyraxys and see what kind of trouble we can get into," he said, grinning mischievously.
I chuckled, shaking my head. "Be careful, Lyriath," I said. "You know Father doesn't like it when you and Vyraxys get into mischief."
Lyriath just laughed, his scales glinting with amusement. "Don't worry, Tharros," he said. "We'll be fine."
Lyriath spoke, "beside me, and Vyraxys only did 1 mischief and never been mischief ever since!"
I spoke, "I should join you 2!" Lyriath's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really, Tharros? You want to join us?" he asked, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
Vyraxys, who had been quietly observing the conversation, suddenly spoke up. "Yeah, Tharros! We can have some real fun together!" His dark bronze scales seemed to gleam with mischief.
I grinned, feeling a sense of adventure wash over me. "Why not?" I said, standing up and stretching my silver scales. "I'm in. What kind of trouble are we going to get into?"
Lyriath and Vyraxys exchanged a look, and then Lyriath spoke up. "We were thinking of exploring the old ruins on the other side of the mountain," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "We've heard rumors of hidden treasures and secret passageways."
Vyraxys nodded, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. "Yeah, and we might even find some old artifacts or relics!"
I felt a thrill of excitement run through me. Exploring the old ruins sounded like the perfect adventure. "Let's do it," I said, my voice filled with determination.
Lyriath looks at his scales. "I do some time miss my full-on navy-blue scales before the" he paused, and I know I cause it. I nuzzled Lyriath and said "look I'm sorry, but this is now your new identity now"
Lyriath looked at me, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions. He nodded slowly, seeming to accept my words. "I know, Tharros," he said, his voice a little softer. "It's just...sometimes I miss the way I used to look. The way I used to feel."
I nuzzled him again, trying to offer what comfort I could. "I'm sorry, Lyriath," I said, my voice filled with regret. "I never meant for that to happen to you."
Lyriath looked at me, his eyes searching. "I know you didn't, Tharros," he said. "And it's not your fault. It's just...sometimes I wish things could go back to the way they were."
I understood what he meant. I had changed him, altered his scales and his appearance. It was a reminder that our actions have consequences, and sometimes those consequences can be painful.
But as I looked at Lyriath, I saw that he was still the same dragon I had grown up with. His spirit, his heart, his sense of humor - all of those things were still intact. And I knew that no matter what, he would always be my brother, my friend, and my confidant.
the remaining navy-blue scales are what remaining of when I burn him alive, and it's a good thing we were at a waterfall that day
The memory of that day still lingered, a painful reminder of the accident that had left Lyriath with his unique, mottled scales. I had lost control of my flames, engulfing Lyriath in a blaze that would have been fatal if not for the waterfall's cooling waters.
The remaining navy-blue scales on Lyriath's body served as a poignant reminder of that day, a testament to the enduring bond between us. Despite the pain and the scars, Lyriath had forgiven me, and our relationship had grown stronger as a result.
I gazed at Lyriath, my heart filled with gratitude and love for my brother. "I'm glad we were at the waterfall that day, too," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what I would have done if..." I trailed off, unable to finish the thought.
Lyriath looked at me, his eyes filled with understanding and compassion. "You don't have to say it, Tharros," he said, his voice soft. "I know. And I'm just glad we're okay."
Pov Lyriath
I looked at Tharros, my brother, my friend. I could see the guilt and regret still lingering in his eyes, even after all this time. I knew he still blamed himself for what had happened that day, for the flames that had engulfed me and left me with these... markings.
But I didn't blame him. Accidents happen, and I knew Tharros would never intentionally hurt me. We were brothers, bound by blood and scale. And I was just grateful that we had been at the waterfall that day, that the cool waters had helped to quench the flames and save my life.
I reached out with a claw, touching Tharros's scales in a gentle gesture of comfort. "Hey, it's okay," I said, trying to reassure him. "I'm fine, really. And I'm just glad we're okay, too."
Tharros looked at me, his eyes searching, and I could see the tension in his body begin to ease. He knew I forgave him, that I didn't hold him responsible for what had happened. And in that moment, I knew that our bond was stronger than ever.
I spoke, "At least my wings wasn't burned as well!" I sight relief
I chuckled, a low rumbling sound, and smiled at Tharros. "Yes, that's true," I said, relieved that my wings had been spared from the flames. "I don't know what I would have done if I had lost my ability to fly."
I shuddered at the thought, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over me. Flying was such a big part of who I was, and the thought of losing that freedom was unbearable.
Tharros nodded in agreement, his eyes serious. "I don't know what I would have done either, Lyriath," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "You're my brother, my friend... I don't know what I would do without you."
I felt a warmth in my heart at Tharros's words, knowing that he cared about me deeply. And I knew that I felt the same way about him. We were brothers, bound together by our shared experiences and our love for each other.
Tharros chuckled. "I would have never forgiven myself if your wings were burned as well!"
I laughed, a deep, rumbling sound, and playfully nudged Tharros with my head. "I'm glad I don't have to worry about that," I said, smiling. "But seriously, Tharros, you've been beating yourself up over this for far too long. It was an accident, and I've forgiven you."
Tharros looked at me, his eyes searching, and I could see the guilt and regret still lingering there. But I knew that with time, he would come to forgive himself, too. Tharros look at me and said "Ok I only beating myself in mentally"
I nodded, understanding. "I know, brother," I said, my voice soft. "And that's what worries me. You're too hard on yourself sometimes."
Tharros looked away, his silver scales glinting in the light. "I just don't want to hurt anyone else," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
I reached out, placing a reassuring claw on his shoulder. "You won't, Tharros," I said. "You're a good dragon, with a good heart. And I'm here for you, always."
I mumbled, "Even have a low temper in anger sometimes"
Tharros looked at me, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Hey, that's not true," he said, his voice gentle but firm. "You have a great temper, Lyriath. You're one of the most even-keeled dragons I know."
I raised an eyebrow, surprised by Tharros's defense of me. "Really?" I asked, my voice laced with skepticism.
Tharros nodded. "Yes, really," he said. "You get angry, sure, but you never let it consume you. You always think before you act, and that's something to be proud of." Suddenly, I sensed Tharros blood boiling in anger, but he calmed down
I watched Tharros closely, sensing the sudden surge of anger in his blood. His silver scales seemed to ripple with tension, and his eyes flashed with a fierce inner light. But then, just as quickly, he seemed to calm down, his breathing slowing and his scales relaxing.
I felt a pang of curiosity, wondering what had triggered Tharros's anger. But I didn't ask, knowing that he would tell me if he wanted to. Instead, I simply nodded at him, a silent acknowledgment of his emotions.
Tharros looked at me, his eyes searching, and then he nodded back, a small smile playing on his lips. "Sorry about that," he said, his voice low. "I just...sometimes things get to me."
I nodded understandingly, knowing that Tharros had a lot on his mind. "It's okay, brother," I said. "I'm here for you."
Vyraxys stopped and said "uhhhh guys do you hear something?"
I paused, my ears perking up as I listened intently. At first, I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary, just the usual sounds of the forest. But then, I caught a faint rustling noise, followed by the sound of footsteps echoing through the trees.
Tharros's head snapped up, his eyes narrowing as he listened. "What is that?" he whispered, his voice low and cautious.
Vyraxys's dark bronze scales seemed to darken even further as he gazed into the trees. "I don't know," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, "but it's getting closer."
My heart racing and suddenly, I heard Vyraxys chuckled and sounded like he was about to laugh
I turned to Vyraxys, my eyes wide with surprise. "What's so funny?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Vyraxys's chuckles grew louder, and he doubled over, his dark bronze scales shaking with mirth. "It's just...Kaidorix," he gasped, his voice trembling with laughter.
I followed Vyraxys's gaze and saw our younger brother, Kaidorix, emerging from the shadows of the cave. He was covered in dust and cobwebs, and his forest green scales were smeared with dirt.
Tharros and I exchanged a look, and then we both burst out laughing. "What happened to you?" Tharros asked, his voice shaking with mirth.
Kaidorix looked up at us, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I was just...um...exploring the cave," he said, his voice dripping with innocence.
Kaidorix mumbled, "And uhhhh, practicing my strength skills and playing." he smiled nervously
I chuckled and said, "Let me guess you are playing with Corvix, your pet panther with wings and have white fur with a few blue fur in his chamber with his siblings, and that is how you get dirty"
Kaidorix's eyes widened in surprise, and then he grinned, his nervous smile replaced by a mischievous one. "How did you know?" he asked, laughing.
Vyraxys chuckled, shaking his head. "You're not exactly subtle, Kaidorix," he said, his voice teasing.
Tharros smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "And Corvix is always getting into trouble," he added, his voice warm with amusement.
I nodded, laughing. "Yeah, and with his siblings, it's a wonder you didn't get torn to shreds," I said, chuckling.
Kaidorix laughed, holding up his hands in defense. "Hey, Corvix and his siblings are gentle...mostly," he said, grinning.
Kaidorix smiled. "beside they are still kitten" he said
I chuckled, shaking my head. "That's even more terrifying," I said, laughing. "A bunch of winged panther kittens, full of energy and mischief...you're brave, Kaidorix, I'll give you that."
Vyraxys and Tharros joined in, laughing and teasing Kaidorix about his adventures with the kittens. Kaidorix just grinned, clearly enjoying the attention and the chance to talk about his beloved pets.
Kaidorix shouted, "HEY! CORVIX IS LORYEL TO US!" he growled
I stopped laughing, taken aback by Kaidorix's sudden outburst. Vyraxys and Tharros exchanged a surprised glance, and then we all looked at Kaidorix, who was standing with his fists clenched and a fierce glint in his eye.
"Whoa, sorry Kaidorix," I said, holding up my hands in a calming gesture. "We didn't mean to disrespect Corvix or...Loryel," I added, using the name that Kaidorix had given his pet panther.
Vyraxys and Tharros nodded in agreement, and we all took a step back, giving Kaidorix some space. "Sorry, little brother," Tharros said, his voice soft. "We know how much Corvix means to you."
"We know how much Corvix means to you." I chuckled and laughed a bit
Kaidorix's expression softened, and he cracked a small smile. "Shut up," he said, playfully rolling his eyes. "You're just laughing because you know I'm right. Corvix is Loryel, and he's the best."
Vyraxys and Tharros joined in, laughing and teasing Kaidorix good-naturedly. The tension was broken, and we all relaxed, enjoying the warm and playful atmosphere of our little family gathering.
I thought,'I never forget how Kaidorix found corvix and that he saw him while we were sleeping, and corvix ran into his small hole, and Kaidorix ran to follow him but get stuck in the small hole'
I chuckled to myself, remembering the story. Kaidorix had been so excited to tell us about the little winged panther he had found, and how he had gotten stuck in the hole trying to follow him. We had all laughed about it, and Tharros had teased Kaidorix about his "brave" rescue mission.
But despite the teasing, we were all happy that Kaidorix had found Corvix, and that the little panther had brought so much joy and companionship into our lives. And Kaidorix, in turn, had been a wonderful caretaker for Corvix, showering him with love and attention.
I do remember that day when Lyrixa, my little sister, called him a dummy to get stuck
I grinned, remembering Lyrixa's mischievous comment. She had been so tiny and adorable, with her big eyes and playful smile. And Kaidorix, being the good-natured brother that he was, had taken her teasing in stride.
I chuckled to myself, remembering how Kaidorix had laughed and playfully retaliated against Lyrixa, chasing her around the cave until she squealed with delight. It was moments like those that I treasured, memories of our happy and carefree childhood.
Kaidorix shouted, "WHAT SO FUNNY?!" I quickly composed myself, trying to stifle my grin. "Nothing, Kaidorix, nothing," I said, attempting to sound innocent.
Vyraxys and Tharros, however, weren't as successful in hiding their amusement. They burst out laughing, and Kaidorix's eyes narrowed, his expression mock-offended.
"Hey, what's so funny?!" Kaidorix repeated, his voice playful, but with a hint of mock-anger.
Suddenly, corvix came in and landed on the ground, Kaidorix's expression immediately changed, and he lit up with a big smile. "Corvix! Loryel!" he exclaimed, rushing over to his beloved pet.
Corvix, the winged panther, looked up at Kaidorix with his piercing green eyes, and let out a soft chirp. Kaidorix scooped him up in his arms, showering him with affection.
Vyraxys and Tharros chuckled at the sight, and I couldn't help but smile. It was clear that Corvix was the center of Kaidorix's world, and it was heartwarming to see their special bond.
Corvix questioningly asked, "What is going on?"
Kaidorix looked around, slightly confused. "I'm not sure, Loryel," he said. "I just walked in and found these 3"
Corvix's ears perked up, and he looked at Kaidorix with an adorable expression of curiosity. Kaidorix smiled and continued to pet him, and Corvix seemed to relax, content in the knowledge that everything was okay.
Vyraxys, Tharros, and I exchanged amused glances, and Vyraxys spoke up, "We were just having a conversation, Kaidorix. Nothing to worry about."
Kaidorix nodded, still looking slightly puzzled, but Corvix's presence seemed to have calmed him down. He continued to pet Corvix, who was now nuzzling his hand, and the atmosphere in the room relaxed.
Tharros speak "alright Kaidorix father went out to hunt food for us so me and Lyriath and you and Vyraxys should go back. Father should be back by now!"
Kaidorix nodded, "Alright, let's go." He gently set Corvix down on the ground, and the winged panther stretched, arching his back and extending his claws.
Vyraxys stood up, "I'm starving. Let's hope Father caught something good." He smiled, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
I fell in step beside them, my eyes scanning the path ahead as we made our way back to our home, eager to see what our father had brought back for us.
As we went back, we saw Father had come back with a giant ork, and it is about 31 meters tall
Our eyes widened in unison as we took in the massive sight before us. The giant ork, towering at 31 meters tall, was an incredible catch. Our father, standing proudly beside the beast, grinned at us.
Vyraxys let out a low whistle, "Wow, Father, that's...that's huge!" Kaidorix's eyes sparkled with excitement, "We're going to eat well for a while!" Corvix, sensing our excitement, let out a triumphant chirp and flapped his wings.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and awe at our father's hunting prowess. Bringing down a giant ork was no easy feat, and it was a testament to his skill and strength.
Father, look at Kaidorix and see he is dirty, Our father's gaze turned to Kaidorix, and a hint of amusement danced in his eyes. "Kaidorix, you look like you've been rolling around in the mud," he said, chuckling. "What have you been up to?"
Kaidorix lied, "I was exploring around in this place." Lyrixa with a meh expression. "He is lying he was playing around with Corvix and got dirty!" Kaidorix shock ask."How did you know that?!"
I smirked, "I know everything, Kaidorix. You can't hide anything from me." She teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
Kaidorix's face turned bright red as he realized he had been caught in a lie. Corvix, sensing Kaidorix's embarrassment, let out a soft chirp and nuzzled his hand.
Father chuckled, shaking his head, "Kaidorix, you should know better than to try to lie to your sister. She always seems to know what's going on." Kaidorix looked down, his embarrassment evident. "Shut up, Lyrixa," he muttered, trying to hide his red face.
Vyraxys chuckled, "Hey, Kaidorix, you can't blame Lyrixa for knowing you so well." He teased, grinning at Kaidorix's misfortune.
Corvix, sensing Kaidorix's discomfort, rubbed against his leg, trying to comfort him.
I rolled my eyes, smiling sweetly at Kaidorix. "Oh, poor Kaidorix, can't handle a little teasing?" I said, trying to stifle a giggle.
Father nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. "Alright, let's get started on breakfast. We've got a feast ahead of us with this giant ork."
Vyraxys rubbed his hands together in anticipation. "Yes! Finally, a decent meal. I'm starving!" He exclaimed, his eyes fixed on the giant ork.
Kaidorix, still looking a bit sheepish, shook his head. "Vyraxys, you're always starving." He teased, trying to deflect attention from his earlier embarrassment.
Pov Tharros
I watched my family's banter with a quiet smile, happy to see them all together and joking around. Father's successful hunt had brought a sense of excitement and gratitude to our little gathering.
I glanced over at the giant ork, my stomach growling in anticipation of the feast to come. I loved raw ork meat, and I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it. As the oldest, I felt a sense of responsibility to help Father with the preparation, so I stepped forward, my silver scales catching the light.
"Father, how can I assist?" I asked, my voice calm and respectful. Aetherius, with his albino scales gleaming, nodded at me. "Tharros, help your siblings gather around. We'll need to work together to divide the meat evenly."
I tilted my head and said, "You have 6 children that include me, and you bring a 31-meter tall ork"
Father chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, Tharros, I figured it would be a good opportunity for all of you to practice your hunting skills... and to have a feast that will last us for a while." He grinned, clearly pleased with himself. "Besides, I thought it would be a fun challenge for all of us to work together to take it down."
I raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "A fun challenge? Father, this thing is enormous. What if we couldn't take it down?" I asked, my voice laced with a hint of concern.
Father's grin only grew wider. "Ah, but that's the best part, Tharros. I knew I could count on all of you to help me bring it down. And besides, it's not every day we get to feast on such a massive beast." He gestured to the ork, his albino scales seeming to glow in the light.
