Chapter 1 - Prologue

"How beautiful!"

A child gazed at the sky in awe. In his vision, there was a golden energy that resembled lightning, streaking rapidly across the heavens—something he had never seen before. As he admired this phenomenon, it suddenly vanished.

"What's happening?"

Panic overtook him, and his eyes widened. He tried to force his vision, but nothing happened. Closing his eyes, he convinced himself it might be an illusion, but upon opening them, the darkness remained. The void enveloped him. Desperate, he began to cry, fear consuming him as he struggled to understand what was going on.

"Young Master!"

A familiar voice shouted, breaking through his despair. A blonde woman, dressed in a simple maid's uniform, ran toward the boy, who was now on the ground, tears streaming down his face. When she saw him, she stopped, shocked. His eyes were void of any light. He was blind.

"How...?"

Desperation and disbelief filled her. No one knew what had happened.

Eleven Years Later

In a room, a young man with long black hair cascading to his feet lay expressionless on a bed, a white blindfold covering his eyes. Since losing his sight, he had endured countless hardships, including being abandoned by his father, the king of the Azure Empire, and his mother, a concubine of the Huo family. To them, the loss of his vision and cultivation talent had turned him into a burden. His body was now in a terrible condition for cultivation. In the eyes of a great family, he was nothing more than trash.

If not for his maid, Yun Rixin, who took him into her family's care, he would have been left to live on the streets.

This made him understand how cruel the world could be. After eleven years living in darkness, his mindset had matured to the point where he considered his blindness a release from that despicable country. The only person he regarded as family in this world was Rixin; the rest, he ignored.

Sighing, he got up from the bed and left the room, relying on his photographic memory. Despite being blind, he could recall every detail of the places he had once visited with precision.

Walking through the house, he soon arrived at the kitchen. Hearing the sound of a pan being stirred, he smiled.

"Good morning, Rixin," he said cheerfully.

"Good morning, Jin."

Rixin stopped what she was doing and walked over to him. When she got close, she lightly tapped his forehead.

"I've told you not to walk around alone! What if you get hurt?" she said, concerned.

Hearing this, Jin just laughed. "Relax, haven't I already told you?" He paused before bragging, "I've memorized every corner of this house." He patted his chest confidently.

"I'm not joking, young man."

She took his hand and guided him to a chair by the table. Pulling it out, she carefully helped him sit down.

"Let's have breakfast."

She served coffee in a simple white cup.

Taking the cup in his right hand, Jin brought it to his lips. The bitter taste made him want to spit it out, but he forced himself to swallow. He didn't want to waste the coffee Rixin had made with such care. Besides, this wasn't the first time. He knew his adoptive mother wasn't the best cook.

"It's bad, isn't it?" Rixin sighed, understanding that cooking had never been her strong suit.

"Yeah, it's pretty bad, but it's passable," Jin replied honestly. He would never waste what she made but wouldn't lie to spare her feelings either.

Hearing this, Rixin sighed again. She knew she needed to improve, but without money to hire someone, she had no choice.

"Well, Jin, I'm heading to work at the auction house. Try not to move around too much. If anything happens, press this red button."

She retrieved a small device from her spatial ring. It had two buttons: one red, for emergencies, and one green, to indicate everything was fine.

"Okay. Good luck, and don't overwork yourself." Jin took the device and waved at her. Shortly after, he heard the door close. He was now alone at home.

Realizing this, he smiled and stepped outside. He knew he was being disobedient, but staying still was unbearable.

Outside, he inhaled deeply, taking in the pure energy of nature, feeling alive. It would have been perfect if he could see.

'Will I ever? Just as I lost my sight out of nowhere, could it return the same way? If I regain my vision, what will I do? Revenge?'

He shook his head. Revenge wasn't his goal. He wouldn't waste his time on something so trivial. As long as no one harmed Rixin, the empire didn't matter to him. He didn't even remember the faces of that despicable place.

However, it would be satisfying to make them regret it. For that, he needed to grow stronger, to surpass anything they could imagine. That was the best revenge.

With this determination, he set his goal: to become strong enough to protect Rixin and enjoy the life he had lost over the past eleven years.

Raising his hand to the sky, he once again tried to open his eyes. Using all his strength, he tried to break through the darkness that enveloped him.

"Break! Break! Break! I want my vision! Golden energy, give it back!"

He shouted with all his might. In his mind, he saw the golden lightning again, which quickly disappeared, but this time, the darkness was replaced by a white light.

"I achieved?"

Seeing the white of his blindfold, he cried. Tears streamed down his face as he untied the blindfold. When it fell, the sunlight illuminated his face.

Yun Jin had regained his vision.
