Dominic's POV
I turned to face my father, Alpha Jenson, and my mother, Luna Martha, my voice steady but filled with a quiet fury. "As of today, I am officially Alpha of the Blue Shadow Pack. I agreed to this meeting here in your office out of respect for the roles you have played in my life. But moving forward, I will make my own decisions and take responsibility for them, including who will stand beside me as my Luna. Daniella is my mate, my partner. I know she's human, but I also know she's the right choice for me."
I shifted my focus to Eva, whose smugness only deepened my frustration. "And you," I said coldly, "I am finished with your lies and manipulations. I don't want to hear another word about how I 'promised' to make you my Luna after what happened between us. What happened was mutual, and there was never any promise. You need to let this go. Do you understand me?"
Eva's face fell, her bravado crumbling slightly, but I didn't linger on her reaction. Instead, I turned to my parents, softening my tone slightly. "I hope you will support me in this. Daniella is hesitant about stepping into this role, and I want her to feel welcome here. I need your help to show her that this world can be her home. Please, help me keep her here when this trial week is over."
Then I shifted my gaze to my mother. I couldn't hide the disappointment in my voice. "Mother, there's something else I need to know. Who told Eva about the dress Daniella chose for the coronation? Was it you, or was it an omega acting behind our backs? If it was you…" My throat tightened. "I'll admit, I'd be deeply disappointed. You put Daniella in an uncomfortable and humiliating position. If it wasn't you, then the omega responsible will be dealt with."
My mother's eyes widened in shock. "Dominic, no! It wasn't me. I wouldn't dare of doing such a thing. I provided several dresses for Daniella, but I didn't know which one she chose. You should ask Eva where she got her information."
I turned to Eva, who was suddenly squirming in her chair. My patience was wearing thin. "Well?" I demanded, my voice like steel.
Eva's expression twisted into defiance, but there was fear in her eyes. "What! Is Sarah's boutique only allowed to sell dresses to this human?" she spat, her voice shrill with indignation.
"Eva," I thundered, my anger boiling over. "Stop deflecting and answer the question. Who told you what Daniella was wearing?"
Her confidence cracked. She mumbled something, and I took a sharp step toward her. "Speak up," I ordered.
"Omega Josie," she finally admitted, barely louder than a whisper.
"Thank you for your honesty," I said curtly, my voice colder than ice. "Starting today, you are forbidden from accessing the Alpha level of the pack house. You will remain on the Beta level. That is my decision, and it is final."
I turned to Daniella, reaching out to take her hand. Her palm was cool but steady, grounding me as I helped her rise. Together, we moved toward the door.
But my father's voice stopped us. "Dominic." His tone was low, but the weight of his authority filled the room. "Tomorrow, this office will be yours. You've shown me today that you have the strength and decisiveness to lead. But there is one matter I cannot ignore your choice of Luna."
I turned to face him, my brow furrowed.
"She may be your mate, but Daniella must prove herself capable of being Luna to this pack," My father continued, his voice calm but unyielding. "During this week, she must show she can adapt to our ways and earn the respect of our people. If she cannot, then you will need to reconsider. Take her as your mistress if you must, but the pack needs a Luna who can fulfill her duties. Eva remains a strong candidate, and I promised her father, Beta Jamie, that she would have her chance."
His words struck me like a physical blow. Daniella's hand tensed in mine, her composure faltering for the first time. I could feel the betrayal radiating off her in waves, and it ignited a fierce protectiveness in me.
"Father," I said, my voice low and dangerous, "that promise was yours, not mine. I will not bind myself to someone I do not love, nor will I allow Daniella to be reduced to a mistress. She is my mate, and she will be my Luna."
But even as I spoke, I could see Eva's smirk growing. The storm brewing in the room was far from over.
