Chapter 1 - IT WAS LOVE

CHAPTER 1

Dreams Come True

Tazirwa was lonely, even though she was in a relationship. She wasn't a cheater; in fact, she was as innocent as they came. All she wanted was to keep herself safe—for someone better, for a life she dreamed of, but which seemed so far away.

It was 2018, a year that felt like the breaking point of everything she'd ever hoped for. At just 17, her world was a mess, an endless blur of darkness where dreams dissolved into thin air. Yet, despite her young age, life had forced her to grow up fast. The weight of her struggles made her mature in ways that others her age wouldn't understand.

Tazirwa's POV

My name is Tazirwa. I'm just a girl—nothing special, nothing extraordinary. When I was 17 years old, life felt like an endless ambush, as though nothing good was ever meant to come my way.

It was during that time that my parents' marriage crumbled into pieces. Mama and Papa's separation tore our family apart, leaving me to shoulder responsibilities far greater than my age. Being the firstborn wasn't just a title—it was a burden. I was expected to carry the weight of the family, even as my own dreams threatened to slip away.

All I wanted was to go to school. Education was my only hope, my escape, but even that felt like a distant dream. By then, I was supposed to be starting my tertiary education. I wanted it so badly, but Mama didn't have the money to make it happen. I would wake up every morning and sit by the window, staring out at the world, silently hoping for a breakthrough. Praying that somehow, somewhere, things would change.

One morning, the call came. It was my aunt. She told me she had found a job for me. At the time, it didn't seem like much—just another job, just another chance to survive. I didn't think it was anything special.

But I was wrong.

That job, the one I dismissed as nothing, turned out to be the breakthrough I had been waiting for. Little did I know, it would be the start of something that would change my life forever.
