Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Explore System

As Alex exited the grand dining hall, the weight of the evening's conversation began to settle on his shoulders. The family's thoughts were heavy with questions and surprise. His father's approving nod, his brother's curious expression, and his sister's sharp, calculating gaze were all still fresh in his mind. As he walked toward his room, Alex couldn't shake the feeling that something significant had shifted, something he hadn't expected.

Ding!

Quest Completed: First Impression

Rewards: 200 SP (System Points)

Alex raises his eyebrows upon seeing the quest completion but kept walking. He got this quest during the dinner. That is why he intervened.

Though recognition from father might help but these System points were what he was truly interested in.

He checked the quest in detail

Quest Window:

Quest Title: First Impression

Objective: Impress the family with your behavior.

Completion: Dinner conversation, shared insightful knowledge of AI and machine learning.

Rewards: 200 System Points (SP)

"First impressions? Maybe first impressions for me. Old Alex was too naive to notice the dynamics in this house. Anyways was it a quest for them or me?" Alex nodded inwardly

"Anyways 200 SP might prove to be useful. Hopefully, it helps me somehow"

He had to grow stronger, smarter, and more influential. He would build his reputation. The family would come to recognize that he was more than just the black-haired, outsider son.

He finally arrived in his room and quickly closed the door behind him. His fingers trembled as he turned to his desk. On it, the sleek desktop computer was waiting, its soft blue glow beckoning him. His heart raced in anticipation. This was it. The system was there, the tool to change everything.

He stared at the screen, focusing his mind, and soon enough, the system interface appeared in front of him, a familiar digital hologram that had become his gateway into this strange, new reality.

His stats were on the screen. They looked simple, but Alex knew better now. These numbers weren't just numbers—they were the path to his power.

[STATUS SCREEN]

Name: Alex Stark

Physique: 6.2

Agility: 5.3

Dexterity: 7.4

Vitality: 4.1

Intelligence: 10.4

Skills: Mathematics (C), Computer Science (B), Hacking (D), Music (D), Entrepreneurship (D)

System Points: 200

Energy: 89/100

He scrolled through the interface. The stats were straightforward enough, but it was the details that intrigued him. He clicked on each stat, one by one, to examine their meanings. Each of these stats could potentially shape his journey forward. He had to understand them better.

[Details Section]

Physique: Average physical strength of the overall body.

Agility: Reaction time and quickness of body.

Dexterity: Ability to perform complex and precise tasks.

Vitality: Overall immunity and viral resistance of the body.

Intelligence: Thought processing speed, memory power, and calculative ability (cannot improve creativity and intuition).

There it was. Alex could see that each of these attributes had a direct impact on his performance in the real world. While his body may have been weak due to the dengue fever he'd recently recovered from, his mind was where his true potential lay. But right now, his intelligence was still below its potential. He could feel it, too—his thoughts weren't as sharp as they could be. Perhaps that's why his mind felt sluggish, why it was harder to make quick decisions. His IQ was only at 10.4—far below what he could achieve.

He scrolled further down and found the upgrade system that intrigued him most. To improve any of his stats, it required a significant amount of system points. And even upgrading small amounts cost an enormous number of points.

100 UP required for 1 point upgrade (Human level)

The smallest unit is .1 points.

1 Point: Near Disability (70 IQ)

3 Points: Below Average (85 IQ)

5 Points: Average (100 IQ)

10 Points: Above Average (120 IQ)

15 Points: Gifted (135 IQ)

20 Points: Highly Gifted (145 IQ)

25 Points: Genius (160 IQ)

30 Points: Super Genius (180 IQ)

40 Points: Century Genius (200 IQ)

50 Points: Human Limit (240 IQ)

It was clear. The higher his points, the more drastic the change would be. For now, his Intelligence was holding him back. He could already feel the gap—the world moved too quickly for him, and his mind needed to catch up. But the real question was: how could he use these points efficiently?

Even skills can be enhanced but even the cheapest entrepreneurship needs 2600 points

He could even modify and enhance his body parts. But is all too expensive.

For now, let's choose stats.

He turned his attention to his stats again. He had 200 SP to start. A quick calculation showed that upgrading his intelligence by a single point would require 100 SP, but upgrading his Physique would be just as vital if he wanted to stand out. His body needed improvement too.

In the end, Alex decided to balance his stats.

He pressed the + symbol next to Vitality, Intelligence, and Physique. Each increase was met with a satisfying click, and the numbers updated on his screen. Vitality climbed from 4.1 to 5.0, Intelligence grew from 10.4 to 11.0, and Physique jumped from 6.2 to 7.2.

The results weren't immediate, but as Alex sat back, he could feel the changes. His body was stronger, and more resilient. His mind buzzed with clarity, and he could already sense the slight increase in his ability to think faster. Even his energy felt more stable.

He had used up all his points for now, but this felt right. The next steps were clear: he would need to continue growing, collecting more points, and perfecting his abilities. Every choice mattered, and he couldn't afford to waste a single moment.

With the 200 SP gone, Alex leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. Since he has this opportunity, he must live this life to the fullest.
