Daiki flicked the last ember off his cigarette, watching it fall to the ground before crushing it under his sneaker. A quick exhale of smoke escaped his lips, and for a moment, he just stood there, taking in the quiet of the rooftop. The warmth of the sun mixed with the coolness of the breeze, offering a brief escape from the constant noise of the school.
"What was that dream even about?" he questioned.
He took one last look at the horizon, letting the stillness calm his thoughts before turning back toward the door. A few moments away was enough to clear his mind, but he couldn't stay up there forever.
Rin and Yui were waiting for him when he returned, standing near the railing, both engaged in casual conversation as they looked out over the school grounds. Daiki walked over, his footsteps light but deliberate.
"Alright, I'm back," Daiki said with a grin, brushing the last remnants of smoke from his fingers. He gave them both a carefree wave before leaning on the railing next to Yui.
Rin looked over at Daiki, a raised eyebrow marking his amusement. "Took a while, huh? Was the view up there really that good?"
Daiki shrugged, an easy smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Eh, you know. Needed a little space to think. You two were getting along fine without me."
Yui smiled, though it seemed a little hesitant, unsure of how much she should say. "It's nice up here," she said softly. "I understand why you guys like it. It's quiet."
Daiki nodded, appreciating her comment. "Yeah, it's the best place to just… zone out for a bit. Away from everything else."
Rin stretched, cracking his neck as he looked toward the school. "We should probably head back to class. Don't want to end up in detention just 'cause we were too chill."
"Yeah, you're right," Daiki agreed. "Let's go. I'm sure we're all a bit behind schedule now."
As they began to head back to the stairs, Daiki glanced at Yui, realizing he hadn't properly introduced himself yet. He turned his attention back to her with a slight smile.
"Oh, by the way," Daiki said, his tone casual, "I don't think we've really been properly introduced. I'm Daiki B—" He caught himself, realizing he hadn't actually said his full name yet. "Daiki, just Daiki. And you are?"
Yui blinked, a little surprised by the sudden question, but then smiled warmly. "I'm Yui Takahashi," she said with a polite bow of her head. "Nice to meet you, Daiki-san."
"Nice to meet you too,Takahashi-san ," Daiki replied with a smile.
Yui smiled shyly in return, clearly a bit caught off guard by his easygoing demeanor.
"So, Takahashi-san" Daiki said, after a beat, "how's your day been so far? Got any more quizzes to torture you?"
Yui laughed softly, shaking her head. "No more tests for today, thankfully. But I do have a ton of homework to catch up on."
Rin grinned, his usual teasing tone returning. "Don't worry, I'm sure Dee right here can help you with that. He's practically a walking dictionary when it comes to English."
Daiki smirked, glancing over his shoulder. "I'd be happy to help, but only if you promise not to ask for my notes on the weekend. I like my weekends free, you know?"
Yui chuckled, the tension from earlier easing. "I'll keep that in mind," she said with a light voice.
As they reached the end of the hallway, Daiki stopped for a moment and turned to face Rin and Yui. "Alright, well, I'll see you guys later. Don't want to be late for class."
Rin waved a hand dismissively. "Yeah, yeah. We'll be fine."
Yui offered a small smile, her eyes meeting Daiki's for a brief moment. "Thanks for hanging out," she said with sincerity.
Daiki gave her a casual wink. "Anytime. See you both around"
However, he stopped after taking few steps looked back and said" Ah, I should've mentioned that. Just call me Dee. It's easier, you know?"
Yui nodded, smiling. "D... that's cool. I'll remember it."
Ren chuckled, glancing at Daiki. "Guess you're too lazy for your full name, huh?"
Daiki winked. "Something like that."

Back in the classroom Daiki was greeted by everyone. He was quiet popular himself, though, not as much as rin.
"Damn, he's always surrounded by a bunch of people."
While in his thoughts he was approached by a classmate "Yo Dee, wanna hangout later? We're going to a Cafe nearby."
"Ah sorry Ryo, gotta pass on that offer, I have club activities later" Apologized Daiki.
"Eh, can't you skip today? Let's have fun together" he insisted.
However, Ryo unknowingly almost scared Daiki to death, while thinking about skipping the image of his coach holding a training sword came to his mind which made him shiver a bit.
"No can do, I don't want to be beaten to death"
"Eh, scary"
With that the boys kept on going with their chat until the class started. Much to the frustration of Daiki he couldn't sleep this time as it was Mathematics and he is seriously lacking when it comes to numbers.
"I should ask Rin to teach me later" with that thought he payed attention to his sensei.
---
"Are we going home together after the training?" asked Rin.
"Unfortunately, yes" answered Daiki with fake frustration.
"You little piece.."
"Hahaha, my my Rin-chan you know I love right?"
"I really want to punch you right now"
"Eh, how cruel"
Rin was part of the judo club, he has grey hair and striking red eyes. He's a bit shorter than Daiki, standing at 1.75 meters, with a muscular build that makes him stand out a proof to his athletic abilities. His handsome face always seems to carry a friendly, easy-going expression, making him approachable to everyone around him. While Daiki was taller standing at 1.84 meters with a lean build, not too skinny but not bulky either, although he smokes he's part of the kendo club. His dark hair is often messy, and his brown eyes give him a laid-back, easygoing look. His face is more on the average side, but there's something about him that makes people take notice. He has a calm presence, but his smile can light up a room.
"See you later Rin-chan" said Daiki when he reach his club's room.
"Suffocate and die"
"I love you too"
