Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

Kaius, a virgin in his past life, was completely overwhelmed. He couldn't handle it!

As a die-hard DC fan, Kaius knew that young Superman had harbored a secret crush on a girl during his teenage years—a girl named Lana Lang.

Kaius had initially been surprised to find a girl in this world with the same name. But now, he realized with a jolt: not just the same name, the same person!

This is bad. If Clark forgot something and came back now, what would he think if he saw this? All the friendship points I worked so hard to build would vanish in an instant!

Summoning every ounce of willpower, Kaius prepared to gently push Lana off his lap. But before he could act, she leaned closer. Her lips brushed against his cheek, her breath warm against his skin.

"My aunt is going to Metropolis for some errands," Lana murmured softly. "I'll be home alone tonight. Will you… come help me with my homework?"

With that, she stood up, her soft laughter echoing as she walked away, leaving Kaius frozen in place.

What just happened?

Kaius stared after her, a flurry of emotions churning in his chest. Do all girls in this world act like this?

He shut his eyes and shouted internally, "Friend's girl, hands off! Friend's girl, hands off!"

Then a little devil on his shoulder chimed in: "Wait a second—she's just asking you to help with homework. Studying won't get anyone pregnant!"

And honestly, Superman's official match was Lois Lane. Clark and Lana never became a couple in DC history, so there was no risk of messing with canon, right?

Kaius sighed. Maybe this is Whitney's charm bonus in action again. Too effective…

At noon, Kaius went home to eat. His uncle, the town sheriff, was busy as usual, and his aunt had long since left for Metropolis. Alone, he found some leftover potato steaks in the fridge and quickly fried them up for lunch.

That evening's homework session at Lana's house seemed far more important than the afternoon football practice. If he was going to her house, he had to be prepared.

No flowers? No. A small gift, maybe a little dessert—something thoughtful.

Whitney's influence is really rubbing off on me, Kaius thought. He was starting to master the art of making girls happy—small surprises, romantic gestures, just enough to create a spark.

He paused mid-thought, smacking his forehead. Why didn't I figure this out earlier? No wonder I was single in my past life!

Determined, he headed into town during his lunch break. He picked up some snacks, flowers, and desserts, then stopped at a convenience store to buy… well, something practical.

Cheekily, he grabbed a dozen boxes of condoms.

At the checkout, the cashier gave him a knowing smile. Kaius returned it with a sly grin of his own. Men understand each other.

"Am I being corrupted by capitalist decay?" Kaius wondered as he walked out of the store.

But then he thought of the night ahead—breaking free from his two lifetimes of virginity and stepping boldly into a new world. Even if this is hell, I'll gladly jump in.

That afternoon, Kaius arrived at the football field, a box of sodas in hand. Clark was already there, waiting.

"Hey, Clark! You're early," Kaius called out.

He was delighted to see that Clark's friendship level had increased by another 10% during the day, now sitting at 60% (Friendly). Just 40% more to unlock that purple hero card.

Clark smiled warmly. "I've been here for a while."

"Did your dad agree that easily?" Kaius asked, surprised. He'd expected Jonathan Kent to put up more of a fight.

Clark scratched his head sheepishly. "We argued, but he finally compromised. I told him I could handle it."

Kaius grinned. He knew what Clark really meant: Don't worry, I'll be careful not to hurt you fragile Earthlings.

The team members of the training camp arrived one after another, along with a group of cheerleaders. Under the influence of the Whitney Character Card, Kaius had become the center of attention.

When Whitney spotted him, he greeted him enthusiastically. "Kaius, are you here to join the training?"

"Not just me—my friend's joining too," Kaius said with a grin. "Let me introduce him. This is Clark Kent."

Whitney turned to Clark with a friendly smile. "I've been meaning to recruit you, Kent. Since you're with Kaius, let's get you on the team. You'll train together!"

Clark nodded in agreement. After Whitney left to organize the teams, he turned to Kaius, his gratitude evident. "Thanks. You're really popular at school."

Making Superman feel envious made Kaius swell with pride. "Just make some more friends. You'll be popular too in no time!"

As they chatted, the cheerleading squad began rehearsing nearby. Lana stood at the front, waving pom-poms and flashing a bright smile at Kaius and Clark.

Kaius noticed Clark's gaze soften as he watched her. It was hard to reconcile this tender expression with the Superman who would one day become a symbol of strength and invincibility.

"Ah, love is a light," Kaius quipped, adding slyly, "so green it makes you panic."

The training session soon began. Kaius and Clark were assigned to the rookie team, composed of newcomers with less than a year of experience, while Whitney led the senior team.

As the coach blew his whistle, the game began. Unlike traditional football, American football was a game of brute strength and speed—less about kicking and more about charging forward while holding the ball. It was a sport built for physicality, earning its reputation as a game for the toughest of men.

Kaius didn't fully understand the rules, so he simply ran alongside Clark. Clark, the powerhouse of the rookie team, was unstoppable. Every time he carried the ball, he charged straight through the opposing defense like a wrecking ball.

Despite his dominance, Clark was careful not to hurt anyone. Whenever someone tackled him, he would lean back and slow his momentum, pretending to stumble, even though nothing short of a speeding car could faze him.

Breaking through the defense with ease, Clark scored by kicking the ball over the crossbar and between the goalposts. The opposing team barely had time to react before the three-pointer was secured.

The cheerleaders erupted into cheers, waving their pom-poms enthusiastically. The name "Clark Kent" echoed across the field, shouted by a chorus of excited voices.

Clark's innocent smile widened when he saw Lana among the cheerleaders, her voice rising above the others as she cheered for him.

"Good job, brother! I knew you had it in you!"

Kaius jogged over to Clark, giving him a playful shake on the shoulders. But no matter how hard he tried, Clark's solid frame didn't budge an inch, and Clark's focus remained entirely on Lana.

Kaius chuckled to himself. Well, let's not dwell on the details.
