Chapter 2 - Black Clover: The Strongest Ice God 002 Magic Book Tower

The three-leaf clover grimoire represents honesty, hope, and love, while the four-leaf clover grimoire holds a powerful meaning: luck.

However, there is also a special grimoire with five leaves, which harbors a demon.

Holding his four-leaf clover grimoire, Yuno turned calmly and declared, "I will become the Wizard King!"

Hearing this, nearly everyone was shocked and turned their attention to Yuno.

"How impressive!"

"Yuno is the pride of Hage Village!" the priest exclaimed excitedly.

"Yuno is amazing!" a young girl shouted in delight.

With the appearance of the four-leaf clover grimoire, Yuno instantly became the most dazzling star in the room.

Asta, snapping out of his daze, said in a deep voice, "Yuno, just you wait. I'll catch up to you soon because I'm your rival."

The room fell silent for a moment, then erupted into laughter.

"Rival? What a joke!"

"A guy without a grimoire, talking about rivals? Ridiculous!"

"Exactly. How can someone without a grimoire claim to compete with someone holding a four-leaf clover grimoire?"

Yuno's expression stiffened slightly as he walked toward Asta. As they passed each other, Yuno left behind a single remark:

"Impossible."

The grimoire-awarding ceremony concluded, and many began to leave.

Lin Hao also leisurely made his way toward the exit.

"Lin Hao!"

Hearing a voice, Lin Hao instinctively turned around.

A young woman around his age was hurrying toward him.

He vaguely recognized her—she was from his village and was named Melissa.

"It really is you, Lin Hao! I thought I might've been mistaken," Melissa said with a smile.

"Do you need something?" Lin Hao asked curiously.

Melissa pouted. "You're as dull as ever! By the way, you saw it, right? Someone here got a four-leaf clover grimoire!"

"Yeah, I saw it," Lin Hao replied with a nod.

"And that guy who didn't even get a grimoire actually claimed to be his rival! That was hilarious!" Melissa said, covering her mouth as she giggled.

Lin Hao looked at her, puzzled. "What's wrong with what he said?"

Melissa gave him a blank stare and replied, "Don't you think it's funny?"

"Funny? He's telling the truth. In the future, one of them will definitely become the Wizard King," Lin Hao said matter-of-factly.

"Pfft!"

Melissa burst out laughing and patted Lin Hao on the shoulder. "Hahaha, I didn't know you had a sense of humor, Lin Hao!"

Lin Hao looked at her, speechless.

"By the way, Lin Hao, you're going to take the Magic Knight exam in six months too, right?" Melissa asked.

Lin Hao nodded. "Yeah."

Melissa smiled. "Good luck! We're the hope of our village, after all!"

As she finished speaking, a group of women approached Melissa.

Their clothing was far more refined than Melissa's, suggesting they were from a nearby town.

After giving Lin Hao a quick once-over, one of them asked, "Melissa, who's this? He looks so shabby."

These women were acquaintances Melissa had met while accompanying her father on trips to the town. Today, they had planned to come to the grimoire-awarding ceremony together.

To maintain her relationship with them, Melissa never admitted she was from a nearby village. Instead, she claimed to be from the town and said she frequently visited the countryside for work.

For this reason, Melissa couldn't afford to reveal the truth now.

Forcing a smile, she replied, "Oh, just someone I knew as a child. We ran into each other here, so I said hello."

"Melissa, you should stop associating with people like him. Otherwise, you might end up like him," another woman sneered.

Melissa smiled bitterly and said nothing.

"Are you from the town?" Lin Hao asked, feigning ignorance.

"Of course! Do you think we're like you?" one of the women scoffed.

"Does everyone from the town look like you?" Lin Hao continued.

"Are you joking? Our looks are one of a kind," the woman replied arrogantly.

"Oh," Lin Hao said, nodding. "That's a relief. I thought everyone from the town looked as ugly as you. Turns out you're just unique."

"What did you say?! You called us ugly, you country bumpkin!" one of the women shouted, furious.

"It's not your fault you're ugly," Lin Hao said earnestly. "But scaring people by coming out in public is definitely your fault."

"Pfft!"

The onlookers couldn't help but laugh.

"You jerk!" one of the women, her face red with anger, raised her grimoire as if to attack Lin Hao.

At that moment, a layer of frost spread rapidly from Lin Hao's feet, freezing everything around him.

The tension in the air was palpable.
