With calm steps and a confident look I walked through the streets of Los Angeles, my head held high.
Dressed in white gown embraided with pink flowers, its exquisite quality along with the jewelries on my wrist ears and neck told of my high social status I drew gazes as I moved.
South east region or something like that was what Victor my driver had called this place when he had brought me here, the thought of his handsome face and angled jawline threatened to bring a frown to my face but I suppressed the anger I felt at the traitor and my stupid fiancé nit wanting to ruin my image in public.
Subtly I turned around, checking looking for men with hard threatening expression who were coming after me and releasing a breath of relief when I saw no one.
Looking forward my eyes steered to the road, looking for a taxi to stop and get out of this area, but before I could even take a step closer to the road, a lard body hit mine from the side and immediately my left arms was grabbed and feeling a sharp obhect be pressed on my side I let the man who had clung to me, steer me into the ally to the left.
My eyes were frantic, thoughts if resisting going through my mind, but like he read my mind, he pressed whatever he was holding deeper into me and the sharp sting did it's job of taming my mind.
"Stupid Jacob Trovel" I cried within.
Coming from the mighty Trovel family, Jacob who was the first born son was the one whom my father against my will had decided to marry me off to.
Though I had met him a few times, other than his impeccable dressing and aura, I was yet to find a single lovable characteristic on the man and as if that wasn't bad enough, it was only after engaging me in a lavish party that he secretly revealed to me that his family was currently in a bloody strife for the position of the next head of the family.
Perhaps if he had shown genuine solemnity and care for me in such a risky time, putting me by his side where I would be most secure whilst he ran around trying to subdue his siblings and uncles, I would have shown the full support and love that is expected from someone of my station but instead the man had dumped me in one of his penthouses with some workers and then told me to stay there while he did whatever he wanted.
Today I had decided to go out for lunch at Lui Crust a high-class restaurant in the city wanting to have a meal when my driver Victor had texted me to immediately get out of the place, saying my life was in danger.
Apparently, he was waiting for me at the front with a car.
Believing him, I had quickly gotten out of the restaurant, expecting to my see the black jeep that had brought me, but to my dismay there had been nothing and then when I had turned to quickly go back into the restaurant, I discovered there was now a huge mean looking man in black suit standing there and looking straight at me.
Frightened, I had turned and began walking away and I couldn't help but curse Victor and my naive self because if I had stayed in the restaurant, I was more than sure that I would be safe.
With the Lui crust full of high-class customers, who would dare to abduct me before some many witnesses. I could have just sought safety on one of the populated tables.
Unfortunately, regret couldn't change the past and now I could only dreadfully allow myself be led into an ally, fearing what was going to happen to me.
In the ally there was a big black jeep with three men in suits standing around it. Taking me closer, the man holding onto my arm roughly pushed me towards his colleague who was at the front, my feet hurting at the pressure I put on them, while doing my best not to fall as is stumbled forward.
Without a word the man who I had been thrown towards caught me but then just as he began dragging me into one of the open doors of the car, there was a loud screech of car tire at the entrance of the ally.
A Mercedes swerved into the ally hitting the man who had bought me into there and sending his body soaring and smashing into the black jeep.
I had just barely registered what happened when the driver's door of the Mercedes flew open and a figure came rushing over.
The other three men immediately rushed at him and my heart tightened as I watched Victor sway in and out of their attacks dishing out hits of his own.
I don't when but I found already myself praying that he would be safe, a sharp pain ringing in my heart whenever he was hit.
After being overwhelmed for the first seconds, a diabolical hit from between the legs of one of the men took him out of the fight and then a hard punch to the faces of the other two men after dodging their attacks saw them collapses.
A smile quickly appeared on my face at Victor's victory but then a harsh grip on my arm reminded me that I was still in danger.
Just as I was left confused wondering what was going to happen, Victor took out his phone and threw it at me.
Not understanding what was happening, I closed my eyes in fear, waiting or the pain that was to come and wondering why Victor was attacking me but then the loud groan that came from behind me, informed me of what had truly happened.
I opened my eyes to see Victor run past me and through a hard ouch at the last remaining man in suit and then after picking up his phone, he looked at me with a smile.
"Hey sorry I'm late, hope they didn't do anything to you"
It didn't matter that I had already put up a frown on my face despite the sweet feeling going through me at being saved by Victor, the light in his eyes and the smile on his face did not falter and I couldn't help but fell for him even more, admonishing myself for having previously doubted him.
