"Wait, what?" Kelvin said as he paused while walking behind me as he looked at me with mild confusion.
"Watch you steps," I said not stopping and continue to walk, we were currently walking on thick trees which unlike normal tree that grows up at 90°, these have walkable angle more like mountains.
Even though they are trees, they are from inside filled with water and acts like water tunnels for fishes to pass through... Truly a fantasy world.
Anyways, it's true that I don't know where we are going or where these tunnels are going to take us but this is what I have to investigate, because that's what my mission is about.

Well, this is what my mission is about but the only thing I feel which is wrong about this is, the guy who gave me, he is someone who betrayed humanity and it certainly doesn't give me any kind of good feelings if I have to be honest.
But well, a mission is a mission for me atleast, mainly due to the atmosphere in which I grew up in.
"Seriously man, you don't even know where you are going, are you sure you gonna find what you are after there?"
"What I am after?"
"Aren't you searching something or someone? Why would you walk so deep in these mountains?"
"Maybe you are right..." I said and paused, as I take a deep look below.
I have been using my X-ray vision to keep an eye on all the fishes passing below me through the tree which apparently are also sound proof somehow.
"Wow, what happened?" Kelvin said as he bumped into me as he was walking just a couple of steps behind me.
'Where did they go?' I ask myself as a look behind towards the steps I walk through more carefully then before and it was then that I saw, all the fishes suddenly falling downwards.
The tree divided at that place into two and while we keep walking straight the other part take the fishes underground as it was connected towards the trunk.
"Damn, I don't think we will be able to break through this thing?" I muttered lightly, as a sat down and touch the hard wood which was now empty from inside since all the water left the other way.
"You want to cut this thing?" Kelvin said as I am noda towards him as a smile appeared on his face, "Say less," he said as he put his hand in his pocket before pulling out something which looked like an arrow.
It was the long horn of the fish, Golden Arrow.

It took us half an hour of combined effort but we were finally able to make a hole in the tree and able to enter inside it, which was big enough that we can walk while bending a little.
"What the heck man, I never know trees could be like this too,"
"Neither do I till today," I mean, I also only saw these when we neared the end of waterfall thanks to these eye tech I have, I finally understood why these are called peak of science in my world, not gonna lie.
As we walked behind a few steps, we finally saw a sight which was surprising to say the least as the water filled with fishes came rushing straight towards us but just before it could reach us, it falls down.
Damn, if not these eye, I would have walked straight in water before I know it, it's just so dark with only source of little light being the small hole we made.
But it was enough to see the road downways, and not only was it bigger and thicker, the water quantity in it was also less, around ½, which was to be expected considering the hole just expanded.
"Hey, don't tell me we have to go down," Kelvin said as I just looked at him, "We have to go down right..."

"I should have never asked to come with yo!!!!" Kelvin said as he hold onto a fish tightly.
"Just enjoy the ride! Oh, and make sure to keep an eye behind, or you will have a big bloody hole before you know it!!"
"Fuck you!!!"
"Look! I see light!!"

Kelvin pulled Evan out of what looked like a big lake before he fall back on a rocky platform as both of them take big deep breaths.
All around them were teen rocks from top to bottom with a lots of holes in the ceiling from which water and fishes pour in but even with all that water rushing down, the lake was as calm and prestine as if it's been untouched for decades.
Not only that, this place, which was who knows how underneath the ground, was as was not dark as one might expect but was dimly lit, just like a normal bulb room.
The source of the light was right in the centre of the 50 metre big lake.
"You alright?"
"Thanks, *cough *cough" I said while coughing as Kelvin just smiled before suddenly, he become serious and take out a small dragger from his pocket and locked behind me.
"What happened," I asked with narrowed eyes, "I saw movement behind that rock," he said pointing towards the rock behind me as with a frown, I activated X-ray eyes and looked at that rock.
And then, I saw the same human silhouette I previously saw from the waterfall.

It was around at the same time, that Jack Skyler was walking around in empty caves, "Let's see, it could be somewhere, around here?" He asked himself, while touching a wall before him as he ran his hand around.
"Here?" he whispered, more to himself than anything before taking a deep breath as he pressed the spot causing it to go inside as if it's a button of sort.
a low rumble occured as the wall trembled and dust & pebbles fell to the ground before a section of the rock slowly slid aside, revealing a dark passage beyond but as soon as he take a step inside, it wasn't dark anymore.
"Haha! So it's true! The ancestor of Skyler family really did awakened using a soul flower!!" Jack said, looking at the large lake with a silver lotus shaped flower in the centre.
It was completely silver, even it's petal and even the step, and it was the same flower which is the most beloved treasure of this world.
It is so sought after that entire nations send expedition groups to find this flower, it's because it is the only flower which can Awaken a person.
In this world, there are some special people who are born with Soul Core, using which after filling up a little requirement a person can do a variety of tricks.
There are 4 known ranks of Soul Core and the legends of an unknown 5th rank however, there is no one alive who has a 5th rank core.
A person is born with a rank of soul core and if he has 3rd rank soul core, he can never achieve 4th rank till he somehow increase his rank of Soul Core, beside using Soul Flower of Low or higher quality with some intresting mathematics logic.
His brother has a 3rd rank soul core and is a top notch talent and is already on peak of 1st rank, Soldier and with just a bit of effort before he achieve 2nd rank, General.
However, that is just for the minority of public, most of humans are not bron with any Soul Core, just like Jack who is just a normal human, while his brother has a talent to be a commander.
However, he isn't someone who is just going to give up everything he has just because he is talentless.
If he is talentless, he just means he has to rely more on his hardwork to achieve his goals, his love and his rightful place as the true hier which he consider himself to be, and his hardwork has finally lead him here...
"That thing has 4 petals, if I consume that flower, I'll have a 4 rank Soul Core, I can be a King!!"
He said as he look at the flower with fascination in his eyes and even though there were more of these flowers near the river bed which could be seen occasionally through the large fishes, he still just have them not more than one look.
However, it was then that his eyes fell on two people breathing hard as he frowned a little before he quickly his himself.
'I thought no one will be here,' He thought to himself, as he slowly made his way towards the two unsuspecting individuals from between the rocks with a sword in his hand so that he can finish them of before they even realise it.
However, he failed at hiding when they spotted him quickly as he clicked his to guess in frustration, "Hard way it is then," he said lightly before walking out of the rocks.
