Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Red Talent, Transcendent Evolution!

"What did you just say?

A unique Talent? What level is that?

I've never heard of it before!"

Foster's expression was one of confusion.

But he wasn't an idiot, and it was clear to him that a unique Talent was incredibly rare. At the very least, it could rival even the golden or red Talents!

It might even surpass them.

But why did I end up with a unique Talent?

Could it be...

Foster couldn't help but recall the moment before he was about to enjoy the company of the Elven Female Slaves, when the black light suddenly swallowed him.

"Did I really get sent to the past by that black light, and then end up with this black Talent, All Things United?"

"Could this actually be the turning point I've been waiting for??"

He swallowed nervously and quickly checked the details of the Talent.

[All Things United]

Category: Talent

Quality: Black

Description: A special Talent born from an unknown force, only appearing in players with the ID number 1562411...

Effect: Each time your level increases, a 3-choice Talent shop will open. You can choose one Talent from the shop.

Remaining Talent acquisition opportunities: One.

Next Talent acquisition level requirement: Level 10.

Note: After each Talent acquisition, the level required for the next Talent will continue to increase.

"Huh??

So this is All Things United?"

Foster was stunned.

According to Heroic Epic's setting, players didn't have a level cap. That meant, in theory, Foster could use All Things United to gather every Talent in the game!

No wonder it's called "All Things United"!

It truly lives up to the name!

Foster instantly fell into a frenzy of excitement.

He never expected that after his transmigration, he would have such a top-tier setup! With such an outrageous talent at his disposal, if he couldn't become the strongest on Earth, Foster felt he would be letting All Things United down!

Other players, including some of the top-tier players from other planets that Foster learned about later, all rose to power through a single Talent!

But his starting advantage was simply astronomical.

"In fact, my future strength might even surpass those famous powerhouses in the universe!"

Foster could barely contain his excitement, quickly deciding to make his first Talent draw.

He silently prayed.

"I'm not asking for much, just a blue Talent will do. Something that can help me in the early stages!"

Three beams of light appeared in front of him. Then, the light split into the shapes of three cards.

The first card was gold, the second was green, and the third was an intensely glowing fiery red!

"Are you kidding me?!"

"Starting with a bang? You gave me a red Talent!!"

Foster was completely stunned!

He quickly checked the three Talents:

The first one was gold, Immortality. Its effect was that all of your soldiers would automatically revive to full health once when their health reaches zero. You, yourself, could also revive once every three days.

"That's insane!"

Foster froze for a moment. If every soldier had a revival mechanic, that would be extremely overpowered! And the best part? There were no race restrictions!

In his previous life, the Talent he awakened was purple, but it only applied to dragon-type units.

But Immortality... every soldier he recruited would benefit from it!

What was even more ridiculous was that, in the future, after the game and reality merged, Foster would also have the chance to revive himself. Other players, however, would be permanently dead once they died!

He was incredibly tempted. Immortality was considered one of the best gold-level Talents!

However, thinking about the red Talent, Foster reluctantly turned his gaze away.

He looked at the second Talent, which was green-quality: Tree Affinity. The effect was that the cost of recruiting Elf units would be reduced.

"Trash."

Foster barely gave it a glance and moved on.

Finally, he looked at the red Talent: [Transcendent Evolution].

This Talent's effect was that all Barracks in your territory would automatically level up by one!

The quality of any recruited hero would increase by one level!

All your soldiers' morale and loyalty would be permanently set to 100!

"What??"

"Is this for real?"

This was too much!

Without even discussing the other effects, just the fact that all Barracks would automatically upgrade by one level completely overshadowed Immortality! Because the strength gap between soldiers of different tiers was significant. Even if low-tier soldiers could revive once, they wouldn't be able to beat high-tier soldiers.

Not to mention the other effects, which were even more powerful.

The fact that the quality of recruited heroes would increase by one level in the early game would provide a significant boost in combat power. In the late game, this could allow Foster to recruit legendary S-tier heroes.

S-tier heroes, compared to A-tier heroes, would be a complete game-changer!

But the reality was that most players would never even get a chance to recruit an S-tier hero. A-tier heroes were much more common, and Foster had even had one in his previous life.

And the final special effect, that all soldiers would have their morale and loyalty permanently set to 100, was an incredibly strong buff.

Except for the Undead race, most soldiers had limitations on their morale and loyalty. When soldiers suffered repeated defeats or were forced to fight too many battles, their morale and loyalty would decrease.

If either stat fell below 60, the soldier's attributes would drop.

If it dropped below 40, the soldier would scatter and break apart.

Having permanent 100 morale and loyalty not only protected them from these penalties but, more importantly, morale above 90 would provide additional defense and health bonuses to soldiers, with the maximum bonus at 100 loyalty.

Morale above 90 would grant soldiers additional attack bonuses, with a maximum of 100 morale.

Generally speaking, soldiers with both morale and loyalty maxed out would have around 40% higher combat power compared to their normal state.

In his previous life, maintaining a soldier's morale and loyalty above 90 was always a challenge. Many players specialized in skills or recruited heroes with abilities to boost those stats.

But Foster didn't need to do any of that. He simply had soldiers with 1.4 times the combat strength right from the start!

"This is insane, absolutely insane!"

"The red Talent is truly worthy of having alien powers personally step in to eliminate it!"

He couldn't help but marvel.

Then, he quickly selected Transcendent Evolution as his first Talent.

As the red light from the Talent merged with his body, a new message appeared in front of him:

[Yes/No: Begin the Game?]

"Yes."

Foster quickly confirmed.

Immediately, he felt his body lighten and transform into light, flowing into the map that appeared before his eyes.

After a few seconds, Foster opened his eyes again.

At that moment, two things caught his attention. First, there was a babbling stream and lush grassland, which looked quite picturesque. Second, Heroic Epic's tutorial messages popped up on the screen.

"Skip tutorial."

He quickly thought to himself.

Then, Foster rapidly surveyed the area, confirming a distant spot glowing with rainbow-colored light. He immediately sprinted toward it.

Soon, he arrived at a glowing little cabin.

"It's here!"

"Initial Barracks!"

Foster was a bit excited.

The Initial Barracks appeared randomly after each player's spawn point was chosen. Normally, players had to go through several tutorials first—learning how to move in the virtual world and perform actions like lying down, rolling, closing your eyes, jumping, and so on.

After that, they had to complete a basic combat tutorial, learning how to kill monsters.

Swish!

While recalling the process of his previous entry into the game, Foster dodged a sudden goblin attack by quickly twisting his body and slashing with his small knife at his waist.

[Critical Hit! Vital Attack! Perfect Technique!]

[-22! You have killed the Goblin and gained 1 Experience.]

Before the tutorial could even pop up, the goblin was already down.

Foster quickly took a few steps forward and arrived at the little cabin.

[Traveler from afar, congratulations on discovering...]

"Skip."

[You have discovered...]

"Skip."

"Confirm occupation."

Foster pressed his arm against the cabin.

[Congratulations! You have successfully claimed the Initial Barracks riverside cabin.]

At that moment, a brilliant red light burst out, transforming into fierce flames that burned the cabin to the ground. In its place, a new, quite prosperous-looking small manor appeared.

[Your Talent has been triggered.]

[Congratulations! You have obtained the Second-Order Barracks: Knight Farm!]

Knight Farm

Tier: Second

Description: Only wealthy families can afford the training of Knights. Through this farm, you can train Knight retainers.

"Jackpot, it's a Knight branch!"

Foster's expression brightened with surprise. With his current Talent bonuses, knights were absolutely the best starting soldier type!
