Lily and Diane became close friends. Well, I was not surprised because my sister surely knew how to make friends within few days. I came back home from school and saw the both of them chattering and laughing. I was wondering either or not that was the same Diane who pleaded with me not to go to school that morning. Or was that the same Diane who had just lost her mother and promised to get back at the culprits? I could not believe that same person was in my home laughing extensively like no other. Well, people emotions do change, especially girls. I read in a book that they do experience mood swings as part of puberty. But not for a girl who was dying for revenge. I had read a lot of crime related novels and hardly would I see the female lead being weak. It was otherwise for me. Well, that is why some people do say, "Snap back to reality. That is what matters. "The statement is true but I believed more in the world of movies and books. I thought it was more realistic than the life we are in.
Later that day, I thought much about what Kate did. I understood the fact that she misunderstood but asking me out was not the best idea. I laid on my bed under my blankets thinking hard about it. Then, Diane entered without knocking. That was something I really hated. What if I was naked? Or I needed some privacy?
"Well, I think we might need a contract." I stood up from the bed and walked towards her.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"In order for us to live peacefully in this house, we might need a contract. I am going to draw one. "I said as I walked out of the room. Surely, I drew a contract and it stated;
"Party A, Ewan Asher. Party B, Diane.
1. Both parties must respect the privacies of each other regardless of the case.
2. Party B should always inform Party A about how the revenge plan is going and vice versa.
3. Party B must listen to Party A's ideas and vice versa.
4. No controversy is accepted.
5. The revenge must not involve blood. "
"Are you kidding me? What is this about privacy stuff?" She asked me as she held the contract on her hand tightly.
"Like how you badged into my room earlier. From now henceforth, it must not repeat itself. "I replied showing a smirk.
"Yes. That is only if I sign it. "She said, dropped the contract and ran to her room. I did not understand why she did run. Was she expecting me to chase her and force her to sign? She seemed to have forgotten, I did not believe in all those child plays.
Funny enough, it was where I sat that she came to meet me to sign the contract. As she turned to leave, I stopped her.
"Any updates with the revenge plan?" I asked.
"You are the one that brings a plan. All I can do is to execute it. "She replied. Well, what did I expect? I believed she was a dumbass.
"Kate asked me out." I said.
"So?" She asked. "Wait, what?" She shouted, her facing showing a real emotion of surprise.
"She said I liked her and she asked me out." I replied as I crossed my arms.
"So, what did you say?" She asked.
"I rejected her." I replied. What did she really expect me to say?
"Oh! That is good. Strangely enough, I think Kate knows about us. Seeing how she suddenly presented a proposal two days after the party, I think she knows something. "She replied, sat down on a couch and crossed her legs.
"No. How on earth would she know that you and I are involved in some revenge plan? "I replied.
"I have an idea. How about you date her and figure out what she is up to?" She asked, well the tone she said the statement in was not appealing. It was a command tone.
"No. That is a very bad idea. That girl is dirty minded, imagine all sorts of things I would be pushed to do. And I don't think I can date my worst enemy. Never!" I replied.
"What should we do? You are going to do it. Either you like the idea or not, you will do it anyway. "She said as her face looked serious. I wondered what she was expecting me to figure out if I dated Kate.
"No. I am not going to. Rule one of the contract states that each party should respect each other's privacy. My dating life is also part of my privacy. "I replied. I did not know about others but I dating Kate would be a very bad idea. The consequences were too many to mention.
"Well, there is nothing I can do. I just thought of a plan that could make our revenge faster. You know if you two date, you can follow her to my house and maybe figure out some things like how my father is doing, and you might discover something very helpful. "She explained. Maybe that was a great idea. It was a great idea and to date was not my problem, Kate was the problem. Maybe if it was not her, I would agree. After several thoughts, I agreed. I rejected her the day before and I had to accept her the day after? Wow! That would only make me look pathetic. I could bet she would not want to date me any longer. Well, which girl would want to? She would decide to ' play hard to get ' and mess things up.
"So, what should I say?" I asked Diane.
"Firstly, offer her a box of chocolates with a red heart on it that is her weakness." Oh jeez! It was bad that I had to lose my pride but then, my money! Just for a damn revenge?
"Alright." I replied even though that was not alright by me. I did not expect myself to bring myself to Kate the next day and tell her how much I ' loved ' her. I decided to wait till when I had money. I could not take part of my savings just to propose to a girl and also, I could not just go ahead to work just to earn money for her. So, I just waited for any free money to come in.
"But just in case, my mother was killed down the basement. It is the only room there. No one knows that place except me and my mother, surely, the culprit. Just in case you entered my house. "She said.
