Chapter 39 - Battle Between Gods

Celine looked at the mighty figure. "You know that fighting me means war with the Valerian Kingdom, right?"

Malphus scoffed and landed. "Why do I have to fear a coward who can only stay in his kingdom?"

Celine clenched her fist. Arthur's personality had caused his divine power to be limited to his kingdom only and Malphus knew this. She was struggling to find a way to avoid battle.

Aura around Malphus began to surge as he attacked and Celine forced herself into battle.

The Divine Power of conquering and change clashed against each other rapidly as Celine felt her aura losing.

Unwavered, the light around her distorted when she became untraceable by sight. Celine tried to advance her power of telekinesis or change but failed.

Around Malphus, a field of 'conquering' took control of anything that tried to advance. Celine was trying to figure out a way around it.

On the right hand of Malphus, the sigil of a complicated human brain began to shine as an orange aura of telepathy moved forward.

Thousands of thoughts pushed themselves into Celine's mind. She hadn't known what they were but could hear the fear that humanity had.

Celine used her sigil to move the orange aura away from her head and analyzed the situation.

"His conquering is annoyingly strong," she mumbled. "He is controlling parts of the area and everything that attacks him becomes control for his divine power."

Just as Celine was about to try something, Malphus said something that shook her to the core.

"Divine Kingdom: Emperor's Throne."

A scary amount of divinity exploded outwards and evenly covered an enormous area.

The space began to fold in itself rapidly as Malphus commanded. Spots of 'void' were created as the entire ground Aria was standing on moments ago morphed dangerously.

Celine was forced to float and jump from pieces of land to another as space itself began to be conquered. Light was consumed and she herself could barely keep a hold on the situation.

The power of conquering was slowly reaching her but she tried her hardest to use her divine power and resist. She knew that one touch of 'conquering' was enough for her mind to be in complete control of Malphus.

"He is dominating the whole battlefield because of his Divine Kingdom! I can't get any space," she lowly cursed her weakness in this situation.

She calmed herself and began to think of a way to survive like she always had. "Every time he conqueres something, a little bit of his divinity must be used just low how I expend divinity when changing something. Although, his usage is more effective and his divinity will last longer than mine despite being the same quantity, he cannot escape this rule. Meaning, I can overwhelm his control somehow."

Celine began to think rapidly. The more Malphus conquered, the more Celine was being put at a severe disadvantage. She needed to create something that was too much for him to conquer to level the gap in divinity usage.

"Found you!" Celine heard as the photons of light she used to obscure her were destroyed. Light itself was being plundered in this battle.

"Shit!" She jumped away from the brilliant golden light and floated in what looked like the expanse of space.

She was slowly moving towards the center of all the conquering power, Malphus.

"What do I have? What do I know?" Celine rapidly muddled. She needed something powerful to win. Then, the most powerful thing she could think of entered her mind and she smiled.

Celine thought of nukes and how they were made. She wasn't an expert by any means but she knew breaking atomic bonds and creating highly unstable elements was all that she needed. She didn't even have to use her divinity to do this!

Celine rapidly flew towards Malphus who approached her and cut her finger. All the atoms in the area were conquered so she had use her own.

As Malphus was about to launch an attack a drop of blood flung by his face and it began to become unstable on an atomic level.

Several atoms combined forming uneven numbers of protons and electrons while the mass of a single atom was growing to an unusual state. Celine didn't know what she was doing but the unstable atom began to react to the surroundings explosively

Before anything could happen, a golden force of conquering controlled it but several other unstable drops appeared at the same time.

In the midst of all this, Celine herself changed into the hardest mineral she knew and rammed into Malphus, landing a clean hit that broke his concentration.

His divine aura ceased to spread and the world around the two stopped being conquered. Celine had stopped his Divine Kingdom.

The ground was only somewhat intact with massive holes leading deep into the earths crust being everywhere and the sky was filled with radioactive air from the nukes. Not to mention that there was also black spots in the sky due to the lack of light.

Celine hadn't let up the pressure for one second as more drops of blood flew and turned into dangerous explosives similar to nukes that covered the whole battlefield.

Sometimes, Celine would change the distance between the explosion and Malphus so he could suffer the full impact.

"Tch, if only my sigil wasn't so useless," Malphus ticked and looked exhausted. The Sigil of Telepathy wasn't that useful for one-on-one fights.

Celine herself was no better as her sigil was straining immensely due to the constant use. Her bad usage of divine power also caused her to be reserves of it to be low as well.

She assumed Malphus had more divine power than her right now even though he had been using it more frequently due to the fact that he was an expert at utilizing it.

Nevertheless, Malphus never stopped using both his divine power and telepathy to attack Celine because she would expend her divine power to defend from it. Once she was out of divine power, Malphus would easily conquer her mind.

"You're annoying," Malphus snickered and stood tall through the exhaustion.

"Yeah I get that a lot," Celine barely got herself to stand.

"I meant that you shouldn't be this strong because you just became a God weeks ago. You destroyed my Divine Kingdom."

Celine wasn't paying attention. She was thinking of another way to attack him as the nukes were starting to become too powerful for her sigil to use and it would soon break.

"This is why Divine Hostages must never reach the power of Gods. You people break the balance and rules we have set for dozens of lifetimes."

"People like you must be controlled and conquered."

They dashed at each other again with reality bending at their touch.
