The sun hung high, its golden rays casting long shadows across the school field as students poured out for PE. The air buzzed with excitement, the chatter, laughter, and rhythmic squeak of sneakers on the track blending into a chaotic symphony. For most, it was a break from the monotony of algebra and history. For Jin, Levi, and Leo, it was game time.
This wasn't just PE it was their battle ground
Near the starting line, the trio stretched, their personalities clashing like fireworks.
"You're looking at today's champion," Levi declared, cracking his knuckles. His grin was infectious, his confidence unshakable.
Leo adjusted his headband, his calm demeanor unruffled. "Bold words for someone who always loses in the last stretch."
Levi's eyes narrowed. "That was one time."
"Five times," Leo corrected, his voice deadpan. "In a row."
Jin, crouched over and struggling with his shoelaces, shot them a glare. "You two argue like a married couple. Can't we just aim for survival?"
Levi laughed. "Come on, Jin. PE's the only time you can impress people without using your mouth."
Jin groaned. "I hate both of you."
Nearby students cast curious glances at the trio. Ever since their legendary showdown with the school bullies in the gymnasium and Leo's ridiculous feat against oppresors the three had been the center of attention. Some watched out of admiration, others out of envy. Either way, all eyes were on them.
The PE teacher's whistle pierced the air. "400-meter dash! Line up!"
Jin, Levi, and Leo stood shoulder to shoulder at the starting line. The tension was electric.
"Remember," Levi whispered, his grin widening. "No mercy."
Leo gave a slight nod, his expression unreadable. Jin just sighed, bracing himself.
"Ready… set… GO!"
They were off.
Leo surged ahead, his legs eating up the track with an effortless rhythm. It was as if the wind carried him. Levi followed close behind, his every step pounding the ground with raw determination. Jin, well… Jin wasn't last yet.
"Pick up the pace, Jin!" Levi hollered, throwing a glance over his shoulder.
Jin's reply was wheezed out between gasps. "I... am... pacing... myself…"
Leo was untouchable. By the time he crossed the finish line, he wasn't even winded. Levi was just a few seconds behind, skidding to a dramatic halt. Jin? Jin stumbled across the finish line last, collapsing onto the grass in a heap.
"Dead. I'm dead," Jin groaned, arms spread wide as he stared up at the sky.
Levi stood over him, smirking. "You're hopeless."
"Seconded," Leo said, stretching his arms with a yawn.
"I hate cardio," Jin muttered. "I'm switching to chess."
Next, the high jump.
The bar was set at a modest height to start, and most students cleared it without trouble. Levi stepped up first, his enthusiasm barely contained. He sprinted, launched, and soared over the bar with surprising grace.
"Easy," he said, landing with a flourish.
Leo followed, his movements calculated and eerily perfect, as if he'd analyzed every trajectory in his mind beforehand. He cleared the bar without breaking a sweat.
Then it was Jin's turn.
"You've got this, Jin!" Levi shouted.
Jin muttered under his breath. "You're all liars."
He sprinted toward the bar, his legs pumping with all the determination of someone trying to escape a bear. The run-up was promising. The jump? Not so much. He barely made it over, his foot clipping the bar as he crashed onto the mat with a loud thud.
The laughter from the sidelines was immediate. But before it could spiral, Levi turned and glared at the crowd. "At least he made it over."
"Barely," Leo added, though his tone lacked malice.
Jin groaned, sitting up and rubbing his back. "I should've stayed home today."
The bar was raised higher. Levi and Leo cleared it with ease. Jin didn't even bother trying again, claiming "moral victory" for making it over once.
The final event was football a match between two teams of six. Naturally, Jin, Levi, and Leo were on the same side. Their teammates, however, were less than optimistic. Their opponents? A lineup of the school's star athletes.
"Let's destroy them," Levi said, cracking his knuckles.
The whistle blew, and chaos erupted.
Levi was a wrecking ball on the field, charging through defenders like a runaway train. His first goal came within minutes, the ball slamming into the net with enough force to shake the goalpost.
"Too easy!" he shouted, grinning like a maniac.
Leo, meanwhile, was untouchable. He ghosted across the field, intercepting passes and outmaneuvering opponents with surgical precision. At one point, he nutmegged the basketball captain, earning a roar of approval from the sidelines.
Jin, for all his physical limitations, became the team's secret weapon. His sharp eyes and clever strategies led to perfectly timed assists. While Levi scored and Leo dominated, Jin orchestrated the chaos, his presence subtle but critical.
By the end, the score was 8-2. The trio had dismantled their opponents, leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement.
The PE teacher clapped, shaking his head in disbelief. "Unstoppable. Absolutely unstoppable."
Levi draped an arm around Jin's shoulders. "See? Told you we make a great team."
Jin shoved him off. "Don't touch me. My legs are about to fall off."
Leo, as usual, said nothing, his expression calm but… was that a smirk?
In the locker room, the chatter was deafening.
"Did you see Levi's goal?"
"Leo's like a machine. He doesn't even break a sweat."
"Jin's passes, though. Straight-up genius."
The trio, however, ignored the noise. For them, it was just another day.
Jin slumped onto the bench, groaning. "I need a week to recover."
Levi laughed. "You'll be fine. Pain builds character."
Leo leaned against the wall, arms crossed. "And excuses don't."
"Why do I even hang out with you two?" Jin muttered.
"Because you love it," Levi said, ruffling Jin's hair.
Jin swatted his hand away. "You're the worst."
The bond between them was undeniable. Whether they were competing, bickering, or carrying each other, the trio was a force of nature. They weren't just friends—they were legends in the making.
And for the rest of the school, they were untouchable.
For Jin, Levi, and Leo?
It was just the beginning.
