Chapter 10 - The game was afoot

Unknown pov

I watched Scarlet leave Raymond's office, a sense of satisfaction washing over me. She was doing exactly as I had planned, playing the role of the innocent and charming secretary to perfection.

I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers together as I thought about the next step in our plan. We had Raymond right where we wanted him, and now it was time to start reeling him in.

I picked up my phone and dialed a number, waiting for the person on the other end to answer.

"Yes?" a voice said.

"It's me," I replied. "I need you to move forward with the plan. We're ready to take the next step."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then the voice spoke up again.

"Are you sure? We can't afford to make any mistakes."

I smiled to myself, confident in our plan. "I'm positive," I said. "We've got everything under control. Just make the call and set everything in motion."

The voice on the other end of the line hesitated for a moment, and then agreed to move forward with the plan.

I hung up the phone, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. We were one step closer to achieving our goal, and nothing was going to stop us now.

I leaned forward, my eyes fixed on the photo of the Smith family that I had pinned to the wall. They thought they were so powerful, so invincible. But they had no idea what was coming for them.

I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of satisfaction and revenge. The Smith family was going down, and I was going to be the one to take them down.

The phone on my desk rang, breaking me out of my thoughts. I picked it up, answering with a curt "Yes?"

"It's done," a voice said on the other end of the line. "The wheels are in motion. There's no going back now."

I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. It was time to watch the Smith family burn.

I hung up the phone, feeling a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. The plan was in motion, and there was no turning back now.

I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers together as I thought about the next step. We had set the wheels in motion, and now it was time to sit back and watch the chaos unfold.

I thought about Scarlet, and how well she had played her part. She was a valuable asset, and I was glad to have her on my team.

I also thought about Raymond, and how easily he had fallen into our trap. He was a smart man, but he had a weakness for beautiful women, and Scarlet had played on that weakness perfectly.

As I sat there, thinking about the plan and how it was unfolding, I heard a noise behind me. I turned to see one of my associates, a tall, muscular man with a menacing scowl on his face.

"What is it?" I asked, my voice firm and commanding.

"We have a problem," the man replied, his voice low and gravelly. "One of our insiders was caught. They're threatening to expose the plan unless we meet their demands."

I raised an eyebrow, feeling a sense of surprise and annoyance. This was not what I had planned for.

"Who is it?" I asked, my voice firm and commanding.

The man hesitated, looking nervous. "It's Alex he was caught by Raymonds friend...Felix," he said. "He's been acting strange lately, and now he's threatening to expose the plan but he lacks enough evidence ."

I felt a surge of anger and frustration. Felix is one of Raymond most trusted associates, and has always been loyal to him.

But now, it seemed he's suspecting scarlet.

I leaned forward, my eyes narrowing. "Take care of it," I said, my voice cold and menacing. "I don't care what it takes. Just make sure Felix doesn't expose the plan."

The man nodded, his face set in a determined expression. "I'll take care of it," he said. "Don't worry, it'll be done."

I nodded, feeling a sense of satisfaction and relief. The problem would be taken care of, and the plan would continue to unfold as scheduled.

But as I sat there, thinking about Felix, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Had I underestimated Felix? Was he more of a threat than I had thought?

I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand. The plan was in motion, and nothing was going to stop it now.

I hung up the phone, a sense of satisfaction washing over me. The plan was in motion, and there was no turning back now.

I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers together as I thought about the next step. We had set the wheels in motion, and now it was time to sit back and watch the chaos unfold.

I thought about Scarlet, and how well she was playing her role. She is a talented and I had no doubt that she would be able to keep up the charade until the very end.

And then there was Raymond, poor, unsuspecting Raymond. He had no idea what was coming for him, no idea that his world was about to be turned upside down.

I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of anticipation. It was going to be fun watching Raymond's reaction when he found out what was really going on.

I stood up, walking over to the window as I looked out at the city below. It was a beautiful sight, the lights and sounds of the city stretching out as far as the eye could see.

But I knew that beauty was only skin deep. Beneath the surface, the city was rotten, corrupt and decaying. And I was about to expose it all, to bring the whole thing crashing down.

I turned back to my desk, my eyes fixed on the photo of the Smith family. They thought they were above the law, that they were untouchable. But I was about to prove them wrong.

I picked up the phone, dialing a number as I waited for the person on the other end to answer.

"Yes?" a voice said.

"It's me," I replied. "I need you to make a delivery to the Smith's office. Something to help them...remember."

The voice on the other end of the line laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Consider it done," they said.

I hung up the phone, a sense of satisfaction washing over me. The game was afoot, and the Smith family was about to find out what it meant to cross me.
