Chapter 2

Seeing the girl casually handing him the documents, Louis numbly opened them. Suddenly, he began to doubt his own eyes and wondered if he had walked into the wrong room. He had only asked for a well-behaved and obedient girl to marry, in order to appease his grandfather who was eager to see his granddaughter-in-law. He planned to give her some money in a few years and send her away. But now, the situation was different...

The girl leaned lazily on the sofa, playing with a pen in her hand. Her bare feet were casually propped up, and her skin was so fair that the veins could be seen. Her delicate features were beautiful, but her demeanor was cool and aloof.

"Is there a problem?" Manon asked while she raised an eyebrow.

Did Jake , that unreliable guy, not explain everything clearly to this guy?

"No problem," Louis said and raised his head and looked at the girl again. Suddenly, he hooked his lips and casually flipped through the contract, signing his name cleanly.

"Okay, you can go now."

Manon nodded and collected the documents, still maintaining her bossy attitude. "Get the deposit from the person who contacted you earlier, and wait for me at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning - I don't like people being late."

Louis frowned. He had never heard anyone speak to him in such a commanding tone before. It was a bit unream.

"Okay, see you tomorrow."

As the man walked to the door, he looked at the girl's bare feet and wrinkled his brow slightly, placing a pair of bunny slippers at her feet.

Manon looked up in confusion. "Huh?"

"If your feet get cold, it's not good for your body," said Louis, looking at the slightly reddened toes on the floor. "It's better to wear slippers.""..." Manon looked up at the man, his deep eyes locked onto her, and suddenly she felt like a student facing a disciplinary teacher.

She obediently slipped her feet into the slippers on the floor. "Okay, goodbye, Mr. Louis."

Louis nodded in farewell and casually closed the door behind him.

His black Bentley was parked downstairs, and his assistant looked a bit nervous as he got out of the car and opened the door for him.

The CEO had asked him to find a well-behaved and easy-to-manage wife, and he had requested that his identity remain secret for the time being. He also wanted to get married

as soon as possible. Which girl would agree to that?

If it weren't for a middleman who had introduced this girl, who looked pretty and obedient in the photo, he would have scratched his scalp raw.

"Boss, are you satisfied with Miss Manon?" the assistant asked.

The man didn't give a clear answer, but one word popped out of his thin lips: "Interesting."

Interesting? Was that a yes?

The assistant breathed a sigh of relief. "Shall I arrange the wedding? When would you like to have it?"

"No need," Louis said indifferently. "Get me her information as soon as possible."

"Understood."

The assistant couldn't guess his boss 's thoughts, but he didn't dare to ask too many questions.

The seventh young master of the Malcolm family had always been a cold and aloof person, and he rarely spoke to his grandfather.

Even though the young heir of the prestigious Malcolm family, who commands respect from the entire business world, is only twenty-five years old, he has never shown interest in any woman that the socialites of California throw at him.If it weren't for his grandfather's insistence, he would have thought that the seventh young master would remain single for life!

...

After casually tidying up her house, manon left for the mall by taxi.

"Miss, may I help you?" The salesperson approached her, but her smile froze when she saw Manon's white shirt, which looked like it had been washed too many times.

This girl was undeniably pretty, but dressed like this, she probably wasn't wealthy enough to afford anything in their store...

"I ordered a set of formal wear from your store," Manon said indifferently, as if she hadn't noticed the disdain in the salesperson's eyes. "Please help me find Ray."

Ray? The French chief designer in their store?

The salesperson glanced at Manon and spoke with a hint of sarcasm, "I'm sorry, but Mr. Ray doesn't see just anyone. If you really ordered something from our store, please show me proof."

Proof?

"He didn't give me any proof," Manon replied, her impatience showing. "You can go upstairs and tell him that I'm Manon."

The salesperson sneered, ignoring manon's request. "I'm sorry, but we can't disturb Mr. Ray without a valid reason."

Fine.

Manon frowned in annoyance and was about to make a phone call when she heard a voice with a hint of teasing in her ear.

"Oh, isn't it my sister? You left home without saying a word, we were all worried!" Megan and a group of girlfriends were out shopping when they suddenly saw the person standing at the door of their usual store, and it turned out to be her annoying sister. They quickly brought their girlfriends to watch the show.A country bumpkin like her, can she afford to come to a place like this?

Being stopped by the store clerk and still having that arrogant look, she really has thick skin!

"Sister, I often come here to buy things. Her shop is not cheap. You just came back from the countryside, you shouldn't have much money, right?"

"Why don't you go home and apologize to dad, dad will give you pocket money."

"Hello, Miss Anderson."

The store clerk recognized Megan, their frequent customer, and nodded at her. At first, she was nervous when she heard her call that woman her sister, but judging from her attitude, their relationship was probably not good.

"Megan , why is your sister dressed like this? Her clothes look like a sack!"

"Will there be any chicken poop smell on her body when she comes back from the countryside? It's so stinky!"

Megan's girlfriends had heard her talk about the eldest daughter of the Anderson family who had been living in the countryside and was returning. They chimed in at this moment. They just didn't expect that they thought Manon was a dark and thin country bumpkin, but she turned out to be so beautiful. If it weren't for her shabby clothes, there probably wouldn't be any socialite in California who could match her."Don't be so pathetic." Manon's hands were in her pockets, and she looked at the women in front of her with a cold gaze. "Get lost."

Megan was taken aback and never expected Manon to be so tough in such an awkward situation.

"What kind of language is that! You are really uncultured!" said Megan .

The girl standing next to megan frowned, "Megan kindly advised you to go back, and this is your attitude!"

Manon smirked, "What attitude do I need for a bastard born out of wedlock?"

"For someone who has no eyes, my attitude is polite enough," she continued.

Megan's face turned pale and she almost couldn't resist tearing Manon's mouth apart.

The girl next to her couldn't stand it and immediately turned her face, "Who are you calling?"

She raised her hand and slapped her, "Do you really think you are the young lady of the Anderson family?"

However, she didn't finish her sentence.

Her wrist was lightly grabbed by Manon, and then that white and translucent hand turned around and slapped her face heavily."What is the Anderson family?" Manon coldly spoke, then looked up with a smile that was not a smile, and looked at megan who was grinding her teeth beside her.

"I am fair. Since I gave her a slap, I won't treat you unfairly."

As she spoke, she slapped Megan's face with a crisp and neat slap.

"You--" Megan covered her face, and her eyes were full of shock and anger. "I called you sister, but you really think you are the young lady of the Anderson family. You--!"

Manon sneered and slapped her again, "Are you worthy of calling me sister?""Security, this woman is the one who started the fight!"

The previous store clerk went to find the security guard as soon as the fight broke out.

Now, the security guard hurriedly arrived with the clerk and said, "Miss Anderson, I'm sorry, it's our fault. I'll have the security guard throw this woman out!"

Hearing this, Manon raised her eyebrows and looked at the clerk. "Instead of throwing me out, I advise you to go find Ray now."

Ray?

Upon hearing this name, Megan sneered, "Do you even know who Ray is?! He's the chief designer of France!Even I can't meet him, and you, a country bumpkin, want to see Ray?!"

The scene was chaotic, and the security guard was about to drag Manon out when suddenly, a not-so-fluent American sentence was heard by everyone
