Goku was tired; the Genki Dama wobbled in the balance between success and failure, an orb churning with hope and destruction. Kid Buu grinned maniacally now, pushing with a force against which nothing seemed to move. Chaos bucked against the joined will of the universe.
"Come on!" Goku growled, his muscles straining. "Why isn't it enough?" In his shaking hands rested the weight of billions of souls. For a moment, doubt flickered across his mind. Then an idea struck-a gamble, but his only chance.
"If I could just. use a fraction of this energy for myself." he muttered, staring at the shining sphere. And with an unrelenting determination, he siphoned off a sliver of power from the Genki Dama into his body. The golden light exploded around him, his hair extending and his energy spiking. Super Saiyan 3 roared to life once more.
But the Genki Dama flickered and shrank somewhat, the power that once overwhelmed now dwindled. Kid Buu laughed.
"Hahah!"
Goku paid him no mind and could feel the SSJ3 form bearing down on his exhausted body. He needed more-something to end this now. Summoning every ounce of will he had left, he shouted:
"Kaioken!"
In an instant, his aura exploded in a red-gold blaze, his power multiplied. The battle raged harder as the Genki Dama finally overpowered Kid Buu's energy.
"Ah! Ahhhoo!" Kid Buu screamed, his body quickly disintegrating in a brilliant blast of light.
But the blast was too powerful, careening toward Earth, to destroy everything Goku fought to protect.
"No. not like this!"
With a final burst of energy, Goku plunged forward, his body reverting back to its base form mid-air. His hands connected with the ball, and by his will, he altered its course. The Genki Dama was passed beyond the planet, racing toward the sun. Goku steered it into the star until the explosion was carried within its flames. The sun spat in a quick flare but steadied, its shining light unchanged.
Drained from his energy, Goku fell towards the ground. His body struck the earth with a soft thud, silent, but a small smile was still etched on the lips. The fight was finally over. Peace, finally, was restored.
With Kid Buu's death, the healing process of Earth began. Goku, the humble warrior, returned to his tranquil life in the countryside where he trained with Goten and even Gohan (way less in that case) and spent time with his family. The peace that was to come would be a fleeting thing for Goku.
It turns out, he didn't realize that the universe was bigger and more intricate than conceived. Discarded: Kid Buu's loss had rippled throughout the galaxy and brought about greater awareness of beings beyond his previous encounters.
A grassy hill was the backdrop for Goku's pose, with his arms crossed and a gaze towards the horizon. Low and distant: The sun, pictured, was golden. The air was cool, with the faint aroma of flower blooms.'... He paused to take in the peacefulness. ".
Goku acknowledged that it had been a while since the last time anything was quiet. A. Feels kinda nice, doesn't it?".
Her arms clutches a basket of vegetables, as Chi-Chi approached behind him. As she looked back at her husband, a silent expression emerged. He was a laid-back man, but his memories of fighting were deeply felt in his mind.
Chi-Chi cautions that Goku may not notice her. she coffed ". It seems like you have a family to keep. Goten has been wanting to train.
Goku laughed, his head nodding off..
Goku - "Yeah, yeah. I'll get to it. I just wanted to take in the view for a bit.
Chi-Chi trembled and shook her head, but then smiled at her lips. Goku's heart was more devoted to the fight than anyone else, and she knew this. Despite this, she was eager to have more time with him, hoping that the next great threat wouldn't take over.
At the Capsule Corporation, Bulma was working hard in her laboratory. Her brow furrowed in focus, she worked on a fresh idea, the noise of machines permeating the room. With his arms folded and his face inscrutable, Vegeta slouched against the entryway.
Bulma: If you're simply going to stand there, you could at least be useful.
Vegeta: tsk, Woman, I cannot spare time for your minor experiments. I am here to get to the gravity chamber."
Setting her tools, Bulma rolled her eyes.
Bulma: 'Train, train, train. That is the only thing you always consider. Don't you ever chill?
Vegeta's eyes set, his pride flaring.
Vegeta - A Saiyan never rests. Not when there are higher altitude to be achieved."
Bulma smiled from where she sat back.
Bulma: "Well, when you're yearning for those peaks, perhaps you can spend some time with your son." Trunks has been after you."
Vegeta paused, his harsh front wobbling gently. He looked away, his volume low.
Vegeta - I will ponder it."
On a sharp summit high in the mountains, Piccolo meditated, his cape fluttering in the wind. Though his mind was far from quiet, the quiet of the surroundings corresponded his interior tranquility. The fight with Kid Buu had brought to his attention the need to stay watchful as well as the vulnerability of their surroundings.
Piccolo - "Peace is fleeting. We need to prepare for what comes next."
Nearby, a book in his lap, Gohan sat cross-legged. He adjusted his glasses, glinting in the sun, his face thoughtful. The days of fighting were over, but the lessons he learned were not.
Gohan — " I think it is ok to enjoy if for a while. We've earned it."
Piccolo looked over at his old student, a rare smile twitching at the edges of his mouth.
Piccolo - "Perhaps. But don't drop your guard, Gohan. The universe is big, and there are always new problems on the horizon."
Gohan nodded, but his eyes were up to the sky. He was in no way put out; nay, but what the future might bring — for himself, for his family, for the world they had fought over so desperately to protect.
The Z Fighters were getting into a fresh routine by the weeks. Training with Goten, Goku passed on his expertise and drove the boy to fresh heights. Vegeta sparred with Trunks, their fights reverberating across the wilderness. Piccolo and Gohan further honed their minds as well as their bodies by means of their meditation, even if Gohan was trying to graduate Piccolo insisted on at least training a bit, and for Gohan to think about it.
Krillin had long been the every man of the Z Fighters a human who stood side by side with Saiyans and Namekian. After the battle with Kid Buu, he returned to his life with Android 18 and their daughter, Marron. Still, the peace did not dampen his fighting drive. If anything, it spurred him on to become more powerful.
Krillin was standing on the beach one evening as the sun set over the ocean, his bare feet sunk in the sand. He shut his eyes and turned his attention to his respiration. His ears were filled with the sound of the waves pounding against the shore, and a kind of energy rippled through him.
Krillin: "Perhaps there is much more to it than simply hurling Kienzans and Kamehamehas, but I have always depended on my abilities. "
He started trying different things with his ki, channelling it in fresh directions. With time, he came up with a method he dubbed "Tidal Wave Fist"quick bouts of ki-infused punches imitating the nonstop movement of the sea. Each blow compounded upon the previous, forming a terrible combination that might overpower even the toughest competitors.
Android 18 viewed from afar, lips slightly grinning.
Android 18 - "For an old man, you are not bad. "
Krillin smiled and wiped his sweaty forehead.
Krillin: "Old man? I am only getting started! "
Tien Shinhan always been disciplined, and the loss of Kid Buu only served to strengthen this quality. He and Chiaotzu went to the mountains, well away from the world's diversions. There they worked on developing talents and testing the boundaries of their abilities.
Tien was standing alone in meditation on a cliff top, three eyes shut in deep meditation, as the first rays of sun cut through the mist one morning. Chiaotcho floated by him with small hands aglow with ki.
Tien says the key to real strength lies in balancethat is, power, speed, and accuracy. We have to become proficient with all three. "
Chiaotzu nodded, his speaking gentle yet strong.
Chiaotzu - "And we must push beyond what we think is possible. "
Their combined technique "Tri-Beam Barrage" is a threo-beam and chiaotzu's telekinetic power fusion. Every energy pulse unleashed by the attack was directed by Chiaotzu's will to hit with great precision. It showed their shared will and undying link.
Training made Tien unable to avoid reminiscing on their past.
Tien - "We have significantly progressed since the time of the Crane School. Still, there is a lot more to discover.
Chiaotzu says, "And we will study it together. "
Though he was always the underdog, Yamcha would not let this become his identity. He went back to his baseball career after the struggle with Kid Buu, drawing comfort from the game's straightforwardness. Still, a warrior's fire burned inside him.
After a especially tough game one evening, Yamcha discovered himself in the wasteland, under the moonlight training his Wolf Fang Fist. Though he was quick, something felt… off.
Yamcha - "I've been relying on the same old techniques for too long. It's time for something new."
Yamcha started including ki manipulation into his martial arts thanks to his experience with the Z Fighters. He created a approach known as "Lunar Howl," a strong ki shock wave that replicated the howl of a wolf, bewildering adversaries and rendering them open to follow-up blows.
Even Yajirobe, who had always been more interested in food than fighting, couldn nevertheless hear the call to upgrade. He went back to Korin's Tower after the fight with Kid Buu and passed his days eating and lounging around. Still, Korin was not going to let him off the hook.
Korin - "You have got potential, Yajirobe. " Don't waste it. "
Leaning against a senzu bean barrel, Yajirobe moaned.
Yajirobe - "Potential? I'm just a guy with a sword. " Is there more you expect of me? "
Korin chuckled and threw him a senzu bean.
Korin: "how about you quit being lazy for once and really train? "
Against his will, Yajirobe conceded. With time, he honed a method known as "Bean Bomb"a surprise assault in which he infused senzu beans with powerful ki and fired them at enemies to produce catastrophic explosions. It was not traditional, but it worked.
Yajirobe: "Perhaps I'm not so worthless after all. "
Korin laughed.
Korin: "Don't allow it to go to your head,i don't have a infinite stock of senzu beans "
High in the sky, the sun hung and its rays found their way through the thick tree layer of West District of Mount Paozu. Humidity hung heavily in the air; the forest was full of chirping birds. Goku and Goten were fiercely but playfully fighting under the shelter of a big tree. Goten moved quickly and exactly, flinging series of punches and kicks in his Super Saiyan transformation. Though the sweat on his brow revealed the effort it took to maintain up, Goku grinned and rolled with still in his base form.
Goten says, "Come on, Father! You're halfway trying. "
Goku - "Heh, you still have a long way to go, Goten! "
Goku's face changed abruptly. His eyes lowered, and Goten's fist was grabbed middle strike with good grip. Goten blinked; his father's unexpected gravity surprised him.
Goku: "Hold got, Goten! " Someone will be arriving. "
Goten: "What? " "Who is that? "
Before Goten could react, a well-known silhouette came down from above and landed elegantly upon the lawn. He wore a modest gi in place of his dressy garments. With a little grin on his face, he straightened his glasses that sparkled in the bright.
Goten - "Big brother! What are you doing here? "
Goku: "Hey, Gohan! I was under the impression you were in the city completing up that project of yours. "
Gohan - "I did complete it... , I am here specifically for that reason. I wanted to discuss something with you. "
Goku's smile vanished when he saw the sad expression in Gohan's eyes. Sensing the change in attitude, Goten floated closer, his Super Saiyan aura flickering out.
Gohan: "I have been considering what transpired throughout the Buu battle. Maybe things would not have become so bad if I had exercised even a bit during those seven years. Perhaps none would have had to suffer.
Gohan's voice wavered as his eyes fell to the floor. Goku moved forward and comforted his firstborn son by palming his shoulder.
Goku: "Stop right Gohan here. " The only ones to fault are those who caused the problem. You were only living your life. You should have that calm following Cell. Stop being so hard on yourself. "
Looking up, Gohan's eyes showed resolution.
Gohan - "I know, Father. " Still, though… I want to work once more. Enough to ensure I am prepared if Buu ever materializes againnot like before. Mom and I have already had a conversation. Though not thrilled, she said yes provided I stay focused on my studies. I will also. this is only something i need to do.
Goku's smile came back broader even than before.
Goku: "Goten, you in? " That is if you felt that way, let's get going!
Goten: "Sure, this has been what I have been waiting for. "
The three Saiyans entered a clearing, their increasing ki flattening the grass under their weight. While Goten waited off to the left, Gohan and Goku confronted each other.
Goku: "Okay Gohan. Show me how serious you are.
With a cold look, Gohan nodded. As he became a Super Saiyan, his aura came to life and his hair shot up and became golden. As he also transformed into Super Saiyan, Goku followed suit, burning his own aura.
Goten - "Whoa! "
Goten, small frame glowing with energy, powered up to Super Saiyan. He suddenly leaped at Goku and delivered a blow that Goku effortlessly parried. With sharp, smooth motions, Gohan joined in. In a flash of golden light, their fists and kicks collided with deafening strength.
Goku: "Not horrible, Gohan! But you're still restraining! "
Gohan: "Am I? "
Gohan's aura burst, his hair lengthening as he rose to Super Saiyan 2. The ground under him broke, and the atmosphere surrounding him sizzled with energy. Goku's eyes grew wide to reveal a grin of satisfaction.
Goku says, "Now we're discussing! "
With his aura matching Gohan's intensity, Goku also powered up to Super Saiyan 2. Their motions so quick Goten could hardly keep up, they butted heads once more. Gritting his teeth, he pressed himself to his limits in an attempt to strike either of them.
Goten: "Hey, please don't forget me! "
Goku said, "Heh, sorry Goten! You're doing great, but you have to be faster than that! " His Son Growling, Goten flew, his now flaring aura brighter as he poured all of his energy toward staying afloat. They three dashed and shook trees with their spars, producing forest-wide shockwaves.
Though you can feel it, Dad, You're still holding back.
Goku says, "Maybe bit. " Still, don't believe that means I'm going easy on you! ".
Goku's grin broadened as he unexpectedly accelerated and threw Gohan off balance with a fast side kick. Countering with a blow Goku narrowly missed, Gohan got better very fast. Goten leaped at Goku from behind when he spotted an opportunity, only for Goku to sidestep at the last minute.
Goten - "Aw, come on!"
Goku - "Nice try, Goten! But you've gotta be sneakier than that!"
They kept going, each of them pushing themselves to the limit. Gohan's movements got more precise, his punches packing more weight. Goten was outmatched but not giving up, his youth energy driving him forward. And Goku was in the middle, challenging his sons and encouraging them to grow.
As the sun went down they finally stopped, their auras fading as they went back to their base forms. They were tired but happy, the bond between them stronger than ever.
Gohan - "Thanks, Dad."
Goku - "Anytime, Gohan. You still have a lot of potential. Never forget that."
Goten - "Yeah! And next time I'll keep up with both of you!"
Goku smiled and ruffled Goten's hair.
Goku - "I'm counting on it."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The walls of the Capsule Corporation gravity chamber vibrated under the stress of 2,000x Earth's gravity and the room buzzed with vigor. Inside, Vegeta sat cross-legged, his Super Saiyan 2 aura flickering like a golden flame. Sweat ran down his face, his muscles taut as he concentrated on his exhalation. Though not his normal training technique, meditation had started to appeal to him following the almost loss of his family in the Buu saga.
Vegeta - "I've always depended on sheer strength and driving my body to its best. " Still, maybe there is more to strength than mere muscle mass. I have to grow if I am to go beyond Kakarot. "
His thoughts turned to the clashes against Frieza, Cell, and Buu they had fought together. Every time, Goku had been one step ahead not only in strength but in adaptability also. With his dawning understanding, Vegeta clenched his fists; he battled his pride.
Vegeta - "I will never accept it as permanent. No matter the price, I will outdo him. "
Later that evening, Vegeta was in Bulma's laboratory. Gadgets, blueprints, and half-finished projects cluttered the room. Analyzing data, Bulma sat at her desk typing frantically on a holographic keyboard. As Vegeta came in, she raised an eyebrow and eyed up.
Bulma: "Well, this is a surprise. " Prince Grumpy, what brought you here? "
Vegeta: "Tch" Do not refer to me that way. Your assistance would be appreciated.
Fascinated, Bulma leaned back in her seat. Vegeta seldom sought assistance.
Bulma: "My assistance? What for? "
Vegeta, I have slammed a wall in my training. No matter how hard I try, the benefits are little. Your job is to examine my body and my physiology. I have to find a way to speed up my development. "
Crossing her arms, Bulma grinned.
Bulma"Well, well. Asking for a short cut, the fantastic Vegeta? I never imagined I'd see the day."
With pride, Vegeta's eyes narrowed.
Vegeta: "This is no shortcut. " This is plan. I can-not allow Kakarot to stay beyond me. "
Standing and walking over to a nearby console, Bulma sighed. Displaying Vegeta's physical data, she brought up a number of charts and graphs.
Bulma: "All right, let's listen. " Partly out of inquisitiveness and partly because you guys are currently Earth's saviors, I have been learning Saiyan biology for a while now. And here's the facts: training together makes saiyan grow exponentially stronger. Your bodies seem to be consuming each other's energy. Goku is most likely therefore so powerful because he is always training with someone.
With crossed arms, Vegeta scowled.
Vegeta - I known. Depending on somebody else for improvement, not my path. "
Bulma: "Well, I offered it to you; you requested a means to grow stronger. The remaining bit is under your control. "
Vegeta was standing there a little with his jaw clenched. At last he spun around and exited silent.
One month went by. Vegeta trained all day alone, but Bulma's words hung in his head. The concept he needed a rival that he could beat up would drive him to new levels. There was only one person to which that description fit.
Vegeta one evening was outside where Goku's house was located. Quietly the countryside resounded only with cricket sounds. Knocking on the door, he scowled.
Goten opened the door, his eyes widened in astonishment.
Goten - "Vegeta?! What are you doing here?"
Goku appeared behind Goten, scratching the back of his head with a puzzled smile.
Goku - "Hey, Vegeta. What's up?"
Vegeta - "Kakarot. No… Goku. We need to talk."
Goku blinked, surprised by the use of his Earth name.
Goku - "This again? What is it this time?"
Vegeta - "What do you mean, 'this again'?"
Goku - "Oh, forget it. What's on your mind?"
Vegeta took a deep breath, his pride warring with his determination.
Vegeta - "I've discovered that the only way to grow stronger from here is to fight you. Every day. No holding back."
Goku's eyes widened, and then a grin spread across his face.
Goku: "You mean, sparring? "
Vegetational - "Tsk. " Absolutely spar. But not the sort of half-hearted training you give your frats. I must keep fighting you nonstop until I exceed you. "
Grinning wider, Goku smashed his fists together.
Goku - "Sure! I've been itching to try something different anyhow. "
Leaving Goten gazing after them in wonder, the two Saiyan flew into the night sky. They touched down far from any settlement, in a desolate spot. High above, the moon illuminated the desolate terrain.
Vegeta - "Not any distractions. " Entire silence. Only you and I, Kakarot. "
Goku - "I wouldn't have it any other way."
They stared each other down, their energies blazing to life. As they powered up, the ground under them split.
Vegeta: "Do not hold back. " Should you, I will crush you.
Goku: "Ah. That need not be a concern for you. "
And so the fight started.
They leaped at each other without another word, their fists meeting with a pulse that spread across the place. Starting in their base forms, they started to fight, but their speed and strength was astonishing even without changes. Each punch, each kick was meant to hurt, to drive the other beyond their limits.
Goku's movements were smooth, a synthesis of offense and defense sharpened by years of warfare. Firing quick, compressed blasts of energy from his hands, he began with a Kamehameha Barrage. All were directed exactly which made Vegeta have to evade and weave through itasiaticcly.
Smooth and almost fluid were Goku's motions, a mix of attack and defense developed over years of fighting. Starting with a Kamehameha Barrage, he blasted fast, strong pulses of energy from his hands. Each one was clearly directed, so Vegeta had to avoid and squiggle over the bombardment.
Vegeta once shouted, "Is that really all you've got? "
Goku grinned, his hands flickering as he released the Twin Dragon Shot. Two spiraling channeys of energy shot from his hands, entwining like serpents as they headed on Vegeta. Gritting his teeth, the Prince of Saiyans used a ki blast to deflect one beam and just headed the other.
Vegeta - "Not poor, but you have to be better. "
Using a Kiai to generate a wave of perfect energy, Goku's narrowed eyes closed the distance. Shooting Vegeta flying backward through the air, the unseen force hit him hard. Goku followed up with Inner Flame, a technique that superheated his aura and produced a searing blast of heat that pushed Vegeta to protect himself before he could recuperate.
There was no way Vegeta would be outdone. His pride would not accept this. With a yell, he answered with a Galick Gun, the violet energy beam roaring toward Goku like a tsunami. Bracing himself, Goku slammed his arms across as the assault struck him and pushed him back but not destroying his guard.
Goku: "That all you have, Vegeta? "
Vegeta - "Barely! "
As Vegeta fired the Final Burst Cannon, a swift series of energy shots lighting the night sky, his hands glowed. One blast hit Goku's shoulder, burning him. He avoided and turned. Taking Heat Flasha searing blast of light and heat that made Goku have to shut his eyesVegeta pushed the advantage.
Vegeta - "now! " he tought
Blinded briefly, Goku charged forward, fist crackling with energy. He delivered a fierce blow to Goku's chest, but Goku's reflexes kicked in. Sleazing at the very last minute, he grabbed Vegeta's arm and flipped him over.
Goku - ''Good try''
The battle now grew fiercer with their motions faster and much wilder. Goku's Kamehameha Barrage fought against Vegeta's Lucora Gun, a technique shot energy orbs in quick succession. The blast brightened the sky while the resulting shockwave shook the earth several miles below.
Vegeta: "You're still holding back, Kakarot! I can feel it!"
Goku: "Am I?
Goku's face changed; the smile fell as he focused. He knew Vegeta wasn't teasing at all-this was a fight to get stronger, and holding back would be an insult to the Prince of Saiyans. With a loud roar, Goku's aura burst, and he turned Super Saiyan. Vegeta followed suit, his golden aura matching Goku's.
Vegeta - "That's more like it!"
The two Super Saiyans clashed again, and the ground shook. Goku's Twin Dragon Shot came at Vegeta, who fired a Galick Gun to counter. The two attacks collided and exploded. Both were sent flying back, but neither would yield. As they fought on, something unspoken passed between them. This wasn't just about surpassing each other. It was about pushing themselves, about getting stronger not just for themselves but for everyone they loved. Vegeta had almost lost his family and Goku had seen the destruction of Kid Buu's rampage. They couldn't be weak.
Vegeta - "You're not giving it your all, Kakarot. What's taking so long?"
Goku - "Okay, Vegeta. You asked for it!"
Goku's aura surged again, his hair spiking further as he ascended to Super Saiyan 2. Vegeta did the same.
The sky shone gold as Goku and Vegeta went Super Saiyan 2. Crackling electricity, every punch, every kick shook the air in shockwaves. The ground had been torn asunder, reshaping the landscape with the power of their battle.
Goku moved like a whirlwind, his attacks a mix of martial arts. He started with a Karate chop, his hand slicing through the air. Vegeta blocked it and Goku followed up with a Kung Fu flurry, his punches flowing like water. Vegeta countered with a Kickboxing combo, his legs a blur as he shot for Goku's gut.
Vegeta - "You've been holding back, Kakarot! Show me what you've got?"
Goku: "Hah! You asked for it!
Goku shifted his stance, added Capoeira to his movements. His body spun and twisted, his kicks coming from everywhere. Vegeta grunted as one of Goku's spinning kicks hit his shoulder but he responded with a Muay Thai knee strike to Goku's side.
Goku - "Not bad, Vegeta!"
Goku stumbled back but regained his balance and used Pro Wrestling to grab Vegeta and slam him to the ground. The impact created a crater but Vegeta popped out of it, his fists glowing with energy.
Vegeta - "That's not enough to stop me!"
Vegeta's attacks got more aggressive, his Saiyan Karate and Kickboxing blending together into a flurry of punches. He kicked Goku's head with a spinning back kick but Goku ducked and countered with a Judo throw using Vegeta's momentum against him.
Mountains became rubble, the forests were lying flat, and the ground became scarred by craters with open fissures. The very air would scream as their kis clashed with each other to send waves several miles away that could be felt.
Gohan, Goten, Piccolo, and even Tien surged with energy all from their spots. Gohan stopped mid-training, his eyes wide in shock as he watched toward the horizon.
Gohan - "That's Dad and Vegeta… but this feels different. They're pushing each other to their limits."
Goten - "Whoa! I've never felt anything like this before!"
Piccolo - "Those two… they're on another level, Right Now their power surpass Kid Buu!!"
Tien - "I hate those guys."
Despite Vegita's attack, Goku's skill and versatility started to show. His hybrid martial arts style kept Vegita on the back foot and his punches landed with precision. Vegita snarled in anger, his pride wouldn't let him back down.
Vegita - "You're still holding back, Kakarot! I can feel it!"
Goku - "Okay, Vegita. Since you got me this pumped up I'll show you what I've been saving!"
Goku's aura flared and his hair grew longer, spiking up as he went Super Saiyan 3. The transformation was faster and more controlled than against Buu and the power was overwhelming. The ground beneath him cracked and the air vibrated.
Vegeta - "That's what I've been waiting for!"
Goku - "That's my full power, Vegeta. Try to keep up!"
The planet shook. Gohan, Goten, Piccolo and Tien all froze, their senses overwhelmed by Goku's power.
Gohan - "This… this is crazy. Dad's never shown me this much power before."
Goten - "My dad is awesome!"
Piccolo - "This is beyond anything I've ever felt."
Tien - "How are we supposed to keep up with that?''
Vegeta looked back at Goku-a mix of shock, anger, and begrudging respect on his face. Indeed, he was the one to have pushed Kakarot to this point, but even for him, this was a heavy truth to digest: the gap between them had still not changed.
Vegeta: "Tch, so this is your true power, Kakarot. Well, I shall surpass this too. Just watch."
Goku: "I'm waiting for it, Vegeta. You're the only one who can push me this far.''
