Chapter 36 - 36

Killua's strength is naturally impressive.

In fact, he has top-level talent, which is why the Zoldyck family considers him the perfect successor.

However, no matter how high the talent, it still takes time to develop fully.

At this stage, Killua may seem like a monster compared to ordinary people, but to a true master, he is still quite immature.

Just as Killua quickly glanced at Ethan after landing, suddenly, Ethan disappeared from beside the crater.

Uh-huh!

A sharp sensation came from the side of his neck, causing Killua's hair to stand on end, his whole body stiffening.

Behind him, the vanished Ethan suddenly appeared, with a knife-hand poised at Killua's neck.

"Don't move, or I'll cut your neck," Ethan said calmly, looking at Killua, who seemed stiff but was actually tense, ready to burst free at any moment.

Killua was silent for a moment before saying bitterly, "You win, my number plate is yours."

He hadn't expected the battle to end so quickly. At the same time, his 'instinct' urged him toward thoughts of self-preservation, admitting defeat, and escape.

Even though he felt reluctant, under such instinctual pressure, Killua could only suppress his reservations and make the safest choice.

Under Ethan's indifferent gaze, Killua honestly took out the number plate from his pocket, and Ethan accepted it.

Uh-huh!

As Ethan withdrew his hand, Killua ran without hesitation, not daring to linger for even a moment, fleeing into the distance.

"Although his talent is amazing, he seems a little timid. Is it because he's too sheltered?" Lisa walked up to Ethan and looked in the direction Killua had fled.

"The Zoldycks are an assassin family. They wouldn't lack courage training for their heirs. He's just under someone's influence," Ethan replied, flipping his palm. In an instant, the number plate he captured vanished from his hand like magic.

Simultaneously, Ethan turned his head to look at a large tree not far away.

"Hey! He's gone now. You can calm down your murderous intent!"

At Ethan's voice, Lisa instantly turned toward the tree, black and white guns appearing in her hands as she took a vigilant fighting stance.

"Sorry! Because Killua is my younger brother, I'm more sensitive to his safety as his older brother!"

There was only a brief silence before a figure slowly emerged from behind the tree Ethan had been watching.

This was a man with various strange needles inserted into his face, giving him a terrifying appearance.

More precisely, he was Illumi disguised as Gittarackur.

Emerging from behind the tree, Illumi restrained himself—Lisa hadn't noticed him. He had only targeted Ethan with his murderous intent, and he spoke with a stiff expression.

"It's actually him..."

Seeing Illumi, Lisa frowned slightly.

Like Hisoka, Illumi had been warned about by Ethan before the Hunter exam began, highlighting the danger he posed.

While Lisa frowned, she looked at Illumi with even more vigilance and wariness.

The other party's concealment methods were so superb that if Ethan hadn't alerted her, she would never have realized someone was hiding in the shadows.

"That apology isn't sincere. Why don't you give me your business card for a future discount or something?" Ethan said with a smile, his expression unchanged.

Illumi looked at Ethan's reaction with some surprise but quickly nodded. "Okay."

He spoke, producing a business card from his jacket pocket, then flicked it toward Ethan.

Ethan raised his hand and effortlessly caught the spinning, flying business card.

Uh-huh!

In the same manner as Killua, after handing over the business card, Illumi didn't linger and disappeared from Ethan and Lisa's view.

"Is he gone?" Lisa didn't let down her guard but asked Ethan in a low voice.

Since Illumi had been able to hide from her senses for so long, he might hide in the shadows again.

Without confirming that the other party had truly left, Lisa naturally wouldn't be careless.

"Yes, he's gone," Ethan nodded slightly, then glanced at the business card in his hand.

It was very simple, with only a phone number. If left on the ground, no one would pick it up, let alone recognize it as coming from the famous Zoldyck family.

Hearing that Illumi had truly left, Lisa felt relieved and put away her black and white guns. She also looked at the business card in Ethan's hand.

"Are you planning to hire someone from the Zoldyck family to assassinate someone?" Lisa asked curiously.

Previously, she hadn't known that Illumi was a member of the Zoldyck family, only that he was a master on par with Hisoka, according to Ethan.

However, through Illumi's own introduction just now, she learned he was also from the Zoldyck family and Killua's brother.

"There is indeed a target, but it will take some time to get there," Ethan said casually without further explanation.

As he mentioned, it was still early to hire Illumi, and saying more now would only give Lisa one more thing to worry about unnecessarily.

Seeing Ethan's demeanor, Lisa didn't press further.

Based on their relationship, she trusted that what Ethan didn't want to say wouldn't harm her.

"It's a pity. I originally wanted to analyze more about the Zoldyck family's assassination techniques," Ethan thought with some regret.

Had he not discovered Illumi hiding, he hadn't intended to end the battle with Killua so quickly.

The goal was naturally simple: to extract Killua's value and learn more about the Zoldyck family's assassination skills from him.

However, Illumi's level of control was beyond Ethan's expectations, so he had to end the battle hastily.

"Forget it, there will be many opportunities to interact with the Zoldyck family in the future, so there's no need to rush."

Though he felt a bit regretful, Ethan quickly regained his composure, gestured to Lisa, and continued their hunt.
