Chapter 1 - Fog-kun

"We're gonna go visit your uncle, get ready in 30 Marcus."

My mother reminded me as I was taking my bath. It was that time of the year again, a visit to the ones who 'once were'. I had no qualms with going since all I would be doing is play on my computer.

It wasn't that long. Well it kinda was but it's as if time helped me by going through me, and not me going through it.

We had a long ride, and I think I'll have to take a piss somewhere. On that note however, I can't seem to find anything close to a comfort room and I sure don't wanna improvise here where souls lay in peace.

"Tough luck, shit."

I began to scour the area and it wasn't long before I found what I was looking for. I went quite far and it was now just across the road. After doing my business, I began to make my way back.

It was now noon and I was gone for about half an hour.

"They're… gone? I said I'd be back though…"

There were no people left and there wasn't many to begin with earlier. The place his uncle rested in was quite far off from any urban area.

He checked his phone and to no avail- not a bar of signal. Night comes seeping in as he waited for hours on the very spot he left his family.

"It's impossible for them to have forgotten me. Where the hell is everyone?"

He thought for a bit and contemplated whether to look for their car or to head towards the nearest town.

"I'll go look for our car first. I can head towards the town if I don't find it. Only problem now is I don't know where the fuck both our car and the town is."

Without any choice, he began to walk. He looked at his uncle's grave until it finally disappeared in his view.

The moment he turned around, he found himself in a thick fog.

"…???"

His heart started beating very fast. He was a neither a believer nor non believer of ghosts. He dare not tempt fate by claiming that it does or doesn't exist.

As if to prove him wrong, the fog mercilessly consumed him until he saw no more. He was alone at night in a cemetery.

Fear trickled through his spine as he tried hold back his body from trembling in fear. He began to feel that he wasn't alone.

Perhaps a trick in his senses due to intense stress and fear. He wasn't sure- and he wouldn't know.

Unable to endure any further, he darted from his place and began to make a run for it.

"Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit."

No amount of composure can make you fearlessly stand like a tree in that dense fog. A natural reaction.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!??!?"

Shortly after cursing, there was some light peeping through the fog ahead.

"I'm out. I'm out. I'm fucking out. Fuck."

After bolting for minutes that seemed hours, he was gasping for air.

He looked at his side and a few meters ahead was a big boulder.

"…"

Is that a fucking boulder? But I'm in a ceme-

His thoughts were cut off when he looked behind him. Not a fog but a cave. A big cave.

He looked around him and saw that he was surrounded by dense foliage of trees.

"HA! HAHAHAHAHA!!!"

"WOOOOOOOO!! HAHAHA!"

"GREAT! FUCKING GREAT!!"

"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!"

He helplessly slopped on the ground and looked at the sky after screaming his heart out. He was tired, scared, confused, and alone in the dead of the night.

A subtle noise suddenly caught his attention. As if it was his treat for holding up and enduring everything that happened so far.

Perhaps the only good thing that came his way today.

A transparent window with a tinge of white.
