"Doctor, look what I've brought you!"

As soon as Link entered Singed's laboratory, he saw the doctor flipping through experiment logs.

"Oh, you're here." Singed didn't even look up as he responded. Link placed the blue sunflower he was carrying on the table and picked up one of the experiment logs.

It was Vander's transformation log.

"You could spend more time with Orianna, Doctor." Link sat on the workbench, leaning on his hands. Singed's eyes remained fixed on the logs. "Kid, when I was your age, I already understood that if you want to eat well, you have to work hard."

"Besides," Singed finally looked up, meeting Link's gaze, "you brought me here for him, didn't you?"

Singed tilted his head toward Vander. Link shrugged. "Alright, but before that, take a look at this."

Link handed Singed the leaf sample he had obtained from Ekko. Singed took the leaf, noticing the unnatural blue veins, and raised an eyebrow. "This is—"

"Hextech energy corruption." Link explained. "It's a sample from a tree in Zaun."

"This means Hextech has infiltrated Zaun's water supply and soil." Singed held the leaf up to the light, examining it closely. "How beautiful!"

"I understand your perspective, Doctor." Link tapped the table. "But the people who provided this sample don't see it that way. To them, Hextech's corruption is destroying the foundation of their survival."

"Evolution requires sacrifice. That's an inevitable truth." Singed put the leaf down. "What do you want me to do?"

"Develop a potion to counteract this energy corruption."

"That's no small task."

"I know. I'll come back to help you later."

"What are you planning to do now?" Singed asked curiously. Link shrugged. "I've got some new ideas I want to test. If you need me, you know where to find me—my workshop."

Link turned to leave, but at the door, he paused and pointed at the blue sunflower. "Oh, and Doctor, consider it a housewarming gift!"

"Oh—" Singed's gaze shifted to the blue sunflower. The leaf slipped from his fingers as he quickly walked over and picked up the flower. "This is truly beautiful!"

"Link, you—" Singed wanted to ask Link something, but the young man was already gone.

Singed carefully placed the flower down and sighed. "That kid really knows how to get to people."

"Well, I guess I'm just destined to work hard."

Singed picked up the leaf sample again, but his eyes lingered on Vander, who was suspended from the ceiling.

"Hmm, maybe it's time for a new experiment."

When Link returned to his workshop, Janna was nowhere to be seen.

Assuming she had gone out to gather inspiration, Link didn't dwell on it. He walked over to his workbench and pulled out a new blueprint.

"Electricity—a revolutionary energy source!"

Link began sketching a design on the blank blueprint, combining knowledge from his past life with the skills of his current one. Soon, a new type of engine, blending clockwork technology, took shape on the paper.

"Not only does it free humanity from primitive fossil fuel usage, but it can also convert various forms of energy."

"Mechanical energy, thermal energy, light energy—all can be transformed through electricity!"

"Clockwork technology excels at converting small kinetic energy into powerful motion. Paired with electromagnetic reactions, the clockwork electric engine can be born."

Link smiled as he looked at the cylindrical clockwork electric engine on the blueprint.

"With this, my exoskeleton can be upgraded again."

"Hmm, building a kinetic armor would take too much time. Let's just go for a cross-version upgrade."

After a final glance at the design, Link turned and headed to the furnace.

The next morning, Janna returned with the wind.

Her eyes sparkled as if she had overheard countless secrets. She was eager to share them with Link, but she found him standing in front of his workbench, grinning foolishly at a horizontal glass cylinder.

"What are you laughing at?" Janna landed on Link's head, scratching his slightly greasy scalp with her claws. "Ew, how long has it been since you washed your hair or took a bath?"

"That's not important right now. Forget it!" Link grabbed Janna and placed her on the workbench. "Look, my new invention—the clockwork electric engine!"

"What?"

Janna hopped onto the engine, scratching at the glass cover with her claws.

Inside the glass cylinder was a figure-eight spiral, wrapped with copper wire coils. A central shaft ran through the spiral, embedded with powerful magnets.

"The clockwork electric engine—a special engine that generates electricity." Link gave Janna a brief explanation, then added, "Can you go call Dr. Singed for me?"

"Hey, I just got back."

"Please, Janna." Link's earnest request made Janna lift her head proudly. "You really can't do anything without me, can you?"

"Fine, I'll go get him."

Janna disappeared in a gust of wind and soon returned to the workshop.

Singed arrived shortly after. When he saw Janna, his eyes widened in shock.

"Link, she—"

"Doctor, I haven't introduced you yet!" Link gestured to Janna. "This is the embodiment of the Wind of Change, the guardian deity of Zaun, the goddess of storms and healing—Janna!"

"Good heavens, I always thought she was just a legend." Singed quickly approached Janna. Link chuckled. "Sorry, Doctor. I was too busy yesterday to introduce you."

"No, no, it's fine." Singed waved his hand, his attention shifting to the clockwork electric engine. "Is this what you wanted me to see?"

"Exactly." Link stepped aside to give Singed a better view. "A third type of energy engine, distinct from chem-tech and Hextech—the clockwork electric engine!"

"Through the work of the clockwork power valve, it uses electromagnetic induction to convert mechanical energy into electricity."

As Link spoke, he activated the clockwork power valve on the right side of the engine. The central shaft began to rotate slowly, gradually picking up speed. Sparks of electricity crackled between the figure-eight spiral and the shaft.

Link adjusted the power valve, pushing it to its limit.

In an instant, the sparks inside the glass cylinder turned into bright blue currents of electricity.

As the currents surged, the engine's output port on the left began to hum and spin.

The bright electric light illuminated the faces of the two men and the goddess.

Singed leaned closer to the engine, his brow slightly raised. "This is truly an incredible invention. I've never seen such a simple yet efficient energy engine!"

"It's alright." Link crossed his arms, smiling with pride.

Janna curiously hopped closer to the engine, tapping the glass cover with her wing.

"Huh, the cover feels a bit hot."

"Hot?" Link blinked, touching the cover himself. His eyes widened.

He immediately shut off the power valve, watching as the central shaft slowed to a stop. He let out a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, Janna had noticed in time. Otherwise, the engine would have exploded.

"Strange, I remember setting up a safety valve." Link inspected the power valve. Singed, after a moment, tapped the glass cover. "Your design is brilliant, but the quality of the outer shell is far too poor."

"Yeah, you're right."

Link nodded. In his rush, he hadn't put much thought into the material for the outer shell.

"I have a formula for high-strength glass. I'll give it to you later. Also, the potion you asked for is ready. You can take it whenever you want."

"As for the experiment to awaken Vander's humanity, I've made some progress."

"Oh?" Link raised an eyebrow. "That fast?"

Singed chuckled. "Sometimes, beautiful things can inspire breakthroughs."

Link's eye twitched. Did those two blue sunflowers really have such an impact on Singed?
