PLANET ASTRUM
*Gloids are cops on planet Astrum
*Ovols are orphanages on planet Astrum
Valion had set multiple alarm clocks the previous night but none of them seemed to wake him up the next morning. Today was the day he would follow his brother to work.
Well, they're not really brothers because Valion was adopted into the family. His mother would always talk about how he was the cutest baby in the whole Ovol. Sometimes, he's cuteness worked for him. Most times, it did not.
SMACK
"Ouch!" Valion was slapped upside the head
"Kindly get up and join your brother".
Valion looked at his mothers green eyes, her red hair was packed in a really tight bun.
"Where is he?"
"Already gone. Your leaving without breakfast"
Valion gasped dramatically
"But what if I die, breakfast is really important you know"
Kaileen kept a straight face "Get going Valion. Run along now. You set"- she counted the numbers of alarm clocks-"5 alarms"
At that moment, another started to beep and Valion gave her a sheepish smile.
"Six alarms was never enough to wake you up. You need help!"
"Okay I'm going now. I need privacy to get ready?"
Kaileen frowned "20 minutes" she slammed the door shut.
Okay so his cuteness definitely did not work this time.
40 MINUTES LATER
"Really?! Just say you don't wanna go if you don't wanna go." Kaileen chased him around with her slippers.
"Okay bye mom. I love you soooo much!" He successfully ran out of the house to the open field. Their house was really big and Valion was really happy to live there. It wasn't a mansion though.
Valion lived with his adopted mother and brother. Ethin and Valion had a very good relationship except the part where Valion purposely annoys his brother and Ethin threatens to kill him.
Both boys are tall. Ethin being 8'1 and Valion being 8 ft. Their planet is a little bigger than the Sun so the things in it have to be giant too. Adults in Planet Astrum could reach 15 feet tall.
Valion at 21 was a tall lean and muscular boy with golden hair and eyes electric blue. His skin was fair with a bit of a golden tan to it. Both his eyebrows and long straight lashes where golden.
His upper lip was the same color of his skin while his lower lip was pink. The corners were raised slightly so it seemed he was always smiling.
Valion walked for a really long time. That wicked brother Ethin knew he hated long distances and knew just how much Valion wanted to follow him but No! he just up and left
without him.
Valion looked at the path ahead and then turned left and headed straight to the supermarket to buy his 'breakfast'.
He opened the door and as expected, a lot of people where already there. Buying and selling. He went to the LOW ENERGY section and attempted to buy something when a young boy of about 11 came running into him with a small box in his hand.
"Sorry sir". The boy looked around frantically and Valion raised his brows.
"Uh-"
"Hold this" The boy forcefully put the box in his hands and sprinkled some sort of powder on Valion. He began to cry hysterically and looked ahead to the group of people running his way.
"Here he is guys! I've found him"
"Gloids!" Valion was surprised to see the gloids. They usually dealt with the really big crimes. Valion looked at the little boy in surprise and then glared at him.
"That's not gonna work boyyy!"
Unfortunately what the little boy did worked because soon after, the gloids where chasing after him, all five of them. Big hefty 9 feet tall men that Valion could not stand against.
With wide eyes, Valion gently put the box down on the ground hoping maybe they could take it and the problem would be magically solved just like that. He turned slowly to look at the boy who was smiling wickedly at him.
"That's not gonna work boyyy!" The boy said in the same tone as Valion and he was absolutely correct because as soon as the gloids picked the box from the floor, they resumed the chase and the voice in Valion's head said RUN.
Valion's legs pumped furiously as he sprinted through the winding streets of Planet Astrum. His heart raced, and his electric blue eyes darted between alleyways and side streets, desperate for an escape route. The Gloids' thunderous footsteps echoed behind him, their 9-foot-tall frames gaining ground.
Without breaking stride, Valion's mind flashed back to that morning's conversation with Kaileen. His joke about dying without breakfast now seemed eerily prophetic. "Yeah, he shouldn't have done that," he thought, a wry smile flickering across his face.
Memories of his mother's exasperated expression and Ethin's absence flooded his thoughts. Why had Ethin left without him? Was this some kind of test? Valion's frustration fueled his determination to outrun the Gloids.
As he zigzagged through the crowded market, Valion's golden hair whipped around his face. Shoppers and vendors scattered, startled by the chase. Some shouted encouragement, while others jeered.
The Gloids closed in, their deep voices bellowing orders to halt. Valion's lungs burned, but he refused to surrender. He had to lose them, clear his name, and uncover the truth behind the mysterious box.
Suddenly, a narrow alleyway appeared to his left. Valion veered into the shadows, praying the Gloids would overshoot the turn. His feet pounded the ground, and for an instant, he thought he'd escaped.
But the Gloids were relentless. Their footsteps grew louder, and Valion knew he had to keep moving.
With a burst of adrenaline, Valion launched himself over a stack of crates, using the momentum to propel him forward. He landed hard, his knees buckling, but he sprang up, already running.
The alleyway spat him out into a bustling square. Valion's eyes locked onto a gleaming airbus, its hatch open in preparation for departure. Without hesitation, he sprinted toward the aircraft, the Gloids mere steps behind.
Would he make it?
