Aurélie's mind was racing with questions and doubts. She felt like she was living in a nightmare, and she didn't know what to believe anymore.
"Max, tell me the truth," Aurélie said, her voice shaking with emotion. "Who was on the phone, and what's going on?"
Max looked at her, his eyes filled with a mix of fear and guilt. "Aurélie, I...I don't know how to tell you this," he stammered.
Aurélie's heart was racing with anticipation. "Just tell me, Max," she said, her voice firm.
Max took a deep breath before speaking. "Aurélie, I've been keeping a secret from you. A secret that could change everything between us."
Aurélie felt like she had been punched in the gut. "What is it, Max?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Max hesitated before speaking. "Aurélie, I'm married," he said, his voice filled with shame and regret.
Aurélie felt like her whole world had come crashing down around her. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"How could you, Max?" Aurélie asked, her voice filled with anger and hurt. "How could you lie to me like this?"
Max looked at her, his eyes filled with tears. "Aurélie, I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I was trapped in a loveless marriage, and I didn't know how to get out. And then I met you, and I fell in love with you. But I was too afraid to tell you the truth."
Aurélie felt like she was living in a nightmare. She didn't know what to believe anymore, or who to trust.
What would she do now? Would she forgive Max, or would she walk away from him forever .
