"Oh?" The white-haired elder seemed to have thought of something and suddenly said, "Perfect timing. My Mercenary Auction House recently received two bottles of Fortifying Potion. These will surely help your lady in forming the Watchers' Legion!"
"Fortifying Potion!" The elder was momentarily stunned, then said in astonishment, "This type of special Tier-3 potion is incredibly rare. Your auction house actually has some?"
The white-haired elder chuckled. "It was just good fortune—someone brought them to the auction house not long ago!"
The elder pondered briefly, then looked at the white-haired elder with a serious expression.
"This Fortifying Potion that even a Tier-9 alchemist like you values highly—it must be extraordinary, right? The effects must be remarkable?"
Although Fortifying Potion was rare, such news wouldn't typically reach his ears.
The white-haired elder nodded with a smile. "Correct! These two bottles were crafted by a Master Alchemist. The effects and quality are extraordinarily powerful!"
What?!
Master Rank Fortifying Potion!
The elder was shocked to his core.
He had lived a long life, yet had never seen a potion of such caliber!
Afterward, something seemed to occur to him. "Wait, the Mercenary Auction House is not as prestigious as the Stellar Auction. How could such rare and valuable potions end up at your place?"
The white-haired elder shook his head slightly. "I'm not sure. I specifically looked into the matter. The person who left these two potions was a rather handsome young man."
"Oh? A handsome young man?" The image of Velen inexplicably appeared in the elder's mind.
"That's all the information I have. The young man casually left the two potions at the auction house and then left."
Hearing this, the elder frowned. "Such precious potions, left so casually at an auction house—how reckless!"
The white-haired elder speculated, "It's likely a scion of an ancient family or a young lord from another galaxy. After the auction, we might be able to meet him."
At this point, the white-haired elder noticed a contemplative look on the elder's face.
The more the elder thought about it, the more he believed the young man was likely Velen.
Among the people he knew, only Velen had the wealth and mystery to match such actions!
"Robert, I might know who that young man is!" The elder's expression turned peculiar.
"Who?" The white-haired elder, Robert, was immediately intrigued.
Master Rank potions were enticing even to alchemists like him!
"Come with me, and you'll find out!" The elder's heart stirred as he led Robert away from the scene.
Not long after, the elder brought Robert to the luxurious guestroom.
"He's in there." Sensing Velen's aura, the elder smiled.
"Who is this person?" Robert asked, curious.
"His name is Velen. He was the first to join the Watchers' Legion, and even the young lady holds him in high regard. He's immensely wealthy!"
The elder gave a brief introduction.
"Wealthy?" Robert was unimpressed.
As a Tier-9 alchemist with numerous businesses under his belt, few dared to claim they were wealthy in front of him.
But knowing the elder's steady character, Robert figured he wouldn't exaggerate.
He was curious to see just how wealthy this Velen was.
The guestroom door was tightly shut, but for the elder and Robert, this was no obstacle.
They easily opened it.
Inside, Velen was still sound asleep, much to the elder's annoyance.
Such prime years—how could they be wasted on sleep?!
However, as the elder stepped into the room, Velen groggily sat up, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
Both the elder and Robert were suddenly taken aback.
In the middle of the guestroom lay a white-furred rabbit with a bloated belly. Next to it was a pile of potions.
Just the scent wafting from those potions left them frozen like statues.
Fortifying Potion!
All the glass bottles were filled with Fortifying Potion!
"Elder, are you done with your errands? Why are you here?"
Velen rubbed his eyes, looking curiously at the elder who had suddenly appeared in his room.
Then, glancing at the pile of potions on the floor and the sleeping white rabbit beside them, Velen scolded in annoyance:
"Little Rabbit, why aren't you behaving? There are still so many potions you haven't drunk!"
Hearing Velen's voice, the little rabbit opened its red eyes, first casting a rather aggrieved look at Velen.
Then, with a very human-like motion, it used its head to push all the Fortifying Potion bottles aside.
The rabbit's face displayed an unmistakable expression of disdain, as if it was utterly sick of drinking them and couldn't stomach any more.
"What on earth is going on here?"
Robert clutched his head in shock, unable to believe what he was seeing.
As a Tier-9 alchemist, he could tell at a glance that these potions were genuine!
Moreover, their scent was identical to the two Fortifying Potion bottles reported from the auction!
"Such precious potions—I haven't even had one myself! And this damn rabbit drank so many—what a waste! This is outrageous!"
Robert was beside himself, beating his chest in frustration, on the verge of losing his mind.
While Robert's emotions ran wild, the elder suddenly noticed something unusual about the seemingly harmless white rabbit.
"Robert, this rabbit is extraordinary.
The mana around it is circulating into its body!"
"Although the mana is still sparse for now, given some time, it will definitely develop into something significant!"
The elder's face was full of astonishment.
The little white rabbit was just ordinary prey and didn't possess a mana-controlling bloodline. Yet, this rabbit was undergoing a transformation!
Hearing this, Robert shifted his focus from the potions to the rabbit.
His face quickly mirrored the elder's shock.
"How is this possible? How is its bloodline transforming?!"
"But it shouldn't have a spellbeast bloodline!"
"From an ordinary animal evolving into a spellbeast—this… this is unbelievable!"
Even with Robert's vast experience, he was astounded to witness such a phenomenon firsthand.
He glanced at the scattered Fortifying Potion bottles on the floor and seemed to piece things together. With a pained look, he turned to Velen.
"You… How many of these potions did you feed this rabbit?!"
To Robert, a single bottle of Fortifying Potion was invaluable.
Judging by the rabbit's state, it must have consumed a significant amount to cause such changes.
Under Robert's intense gaze, Velen thought for a moment and replied casually:
"Not that many, just close to 2,000 bottles. The rabbit couldn't drink anymore, so I let it take a break. But now it's gotten picky and refuses to drink! This rabbit has no gratitude!"
Hearing this, both Robert and the elder widened their eyes, staring at Velen in utter disbelief. This guy was outrageously extravagant!
Nearly 2,000 bottles of Fortifying Potion!
That quantity was an unimaginable blow to them!
For Robert, an alchemist, the shock was even greater.
Veins bulged visibly on his forehead, and he looked as though he wanted to kill Velen on the spot.
"Kevin! Is this how the Ducal Manor teaches people to squander resources?!"
"Such rare and precious potions—used to feed a rabbit?! What were you thinking?!"
To Robert, seeing such precious potions wasted was more painful than death!
"This is beyond control. That's just how he is—he has plenty of gold coins. Even I sometimes follow his arrangements to get things done for him!"
Kevin sighed helplessly, a resigned look on his face.
Hearing this, Robert stared at Kevin in disbelief.
He knew Kevin's background and strength well.
As one of the Ducal Manor's esteemed retainers and a top-tier Ascended Rank powerhouse, how could someone like him take orders from a fledgling?
Yet these words had come straight from Kevin's mouth!
At that moment, Velen seemed to think of something.
Turning to Kevin, he smiled slightly.
"Elder, I could use some help with these potions. Of course, I wouldn't ask you to do it for free—this time, let's say, 100,000 gold coins!"
While Robert's face was still frozen in shock, Velen spoke up cheerfully.
