A faint, almost imperceptible rune imbued with deathly energy surfaced.

Such a special rune was invisible to low-ranking Awakeners, but to the golden-armored guard, it was perfectly clear.
Once someone marked by the Mourning of the Fallen dies, the rune would relay a message back to its origin. Simultaneously, it would silently attach itself to the killer.
"Interesting. Whoever's backing this kid must have some influence. Looks like I might see my master again soon."
