ANNE POV
As I drove away from the mansion, my mind was reeling with thoughts and questions. I couldn't believe what I had just learned. The Giordano's were even more ruthless than I had imagined. And now, I was more determined than ever to bring them down.
In the car, my mind swept through my childhood memories. I was only eight years old when my parents were brutally murdered. According to the police, it was a robbery incident, and they were shot in the process. But now, I knew the truth - the Giordano's were behind their death.
When my parents died, the only family member I had was my father's young sister, Aunt Kianna. Aunt Kianna and my dad, Alessandro Rossi, were orphans themselves, and they had only each other growing up. When my dad got married to my mom, Aunt Kianna hated my mom because she felt someone was coming between her and her brother.
So, when my dad died, Aunt Kianna took me to foster care. My mom's family members didn't seem to care how I was brought up, maybe because they didn't want my mom to marry my dad in the first place. I remembered the painful feeling of being rejected by my own family.
I can clearly remember all the memories of foster care, though. The love and care I received there were massive, and it helped shape me into the person I am today. But, I had to leave when I turned eighteen, and life wasn't easy for me after that.
I struggled to make ends meet, working multiple jobs just to get by. But, I never gave up. I kept pushing forward, determined to make a better life for myself. And then, I landed a job as Harvey's secretary. Ever since then, I've had a relatively easy-going life. Harvey's been a great boss, and I've learned so much from him.
But, now that I knew the truth about my parents' death, I felt a sense of purpose that I had never felt before. I was determined to bring Giordano's down, no matter what it took. I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that I was fighting for justice and the truth.
I got into the office feeling a rise of anger all over me, but I had to prepare for a board meeting today so I had to somehow let the anger off. I went straight to my office, dropped my bag and went to say hi to Harvey as usual letting him know I had arrived.
"Good morning sir Harvey" I said
"Morning Anne..... Anne, I have told you severally to stop calling me Sir Harvey, just call me Harvey please" he said
One thing I noticed about Harvey was that he always feels safer around me, he just likes to keep building up conversations with me.
"Ohhk sir...hmmm ok Harvey" I replied with a wide smile "your documents are ready for the board meeting" I said handing them over to him.
"Thanks Anne" he said with a wink
I realized that in order to gain access to the Giordano's, I have to get close to one of them. Maybe getting close to Harvey would be the best option because he likes my company, he always sounds different when I am around.
"Anne, can you have a drink with me today after work?" he said.
I was surprised that he asked, it was like my plan was finally aligning.
"Ohh...hmmm...ohhk, after work, yes I will" I said with a smile.
I left his office feeling like I have an edge against Giordano's.
