Chapter 14 - P6 Info -i-

I was in the backyard again, drenched in sweat and frustration. The clear sky mocked me with its serene blue, as if to say, You'll figure it out. Eventually. Training was always the same mix of breakthroughs and brick walls. My magic, my omni-state—they felt like puzzle pieces that didn't quite fit, no matter how hard I jammed them together.

For three years, entering it guaranteed a one-way trip to the floor, unconscious and drained of every drop of Eon in my body. But today? Today was different. I could stay in it for two full minutes before feeling like a squeezed-out rag.

Progress. I'd take it.

Of the three omnis—Omnipresence, Omnipotence, and Omniscience—Omnipresence was the easiest to manage. It let me be everywhere at once, which was both useful and oddly peaceful. It was like stretching my consciousness across space, connecting with everything and nothing all at once. Efficient, controllable.

Omnipotence, on the other hand? A living nightmare. Sure, it was powerful—too powerful. I'd learned that the hard way when I nearly obliterated this world. And no, I'm not exaggerating. I almost destroyed the planet's core. The thought alone made my stomach churn. It wasn't just overwhelming; it was a liability.

Then there was Omniscience. The worst of the lot. Knowing everything sounds great until it happens. Infinite knowledge poured into my brain like someone had opened the floodgates. I knew everything: the next second, minute, year—hell, I could see infinite years ahead. That kind of power wasn't just overwhelming; it was suffocating. My brain nearly imploded before I managed to stop it.

Still, these abilities weren't just flashy tricks. They were pieces of a bigger puzzle. Pieces I'd need to figure out if I wanted to protect my family. And then there was the "Voice." That cryptic message about "events" had haunted me ever since. What events? Why hadn't it contacted me again?

_____𖤍_____

I shook my head, trying to push the questions aside. Dwelling on them wouldn't help. What would help was training.

"Omnipotence." I sent a precise electrical pulse to my soul, activating the state.

SHIIIIIIIIING!

My eyes shifted to a glowing yellow, and the familiar dragon symbol burned into my irises. The sensation was immediate—like holding a bomb that could detonate at the slightest twitch.

Okay, Ryn. This time, you're going to control it.

I ran through the rules in my head. No blinking, or the world goes kaboom. No breathing, or the oxygen in the air goes 'bye-bye' goodbye. No heartbeat, or everyone's eardrums pop like balloons. And definitely no sudden movements, unless I wanted to trigger an earthquake—or worse.

It was ridiculous. Every part of me was a walking disaster. How was I supposed to train under these conditions? And then it hit me.

Oh, crap. I can't stop my heart.

Panic surged through me as I realized my fatal oversight. 'Abort!' I mentally screamed, sending another pulse to deactivate Omnipotence.

The yellow glow faded, and I collapsed onto the ground in a heap, gasping for air. "Haaah!" I exhaled, my chest heaving. Even 0.2 seconds in that state left me drained.

Damn it. I needed to figure this out. I have to. If those "events" the Voice warned me about happened now, I'd be screwed. My family would be screwed. And that wasn't an option.

"Ryn?" Andrea's voice broke through my spiraling thoughts.

I turned my head to see her peeking out from the backdoor, her head tilted in that curious way she always had.

"Hm?" I grunted, still catching my breath.

"I've got your snacks," she said, grinning as she stepped outside. In her hands was a plate piled high with baked potatoes.

"Woah!" I shot to my feet faster than I'd moved all day. My stomach growled in anticipation, and my eyes lit up like a kid on his birthday. "You're the best, Andrea!"

Andrea just chuckled, handing me the plate. "You say that every time."

"And I mean it every time," I replied, plopping back onto the ground with my prize. The potatoes were golden and steaming, their buttery aroma making my mouth water.

Without hesitation, I picked one up and stuffed it into my mouth. The heat didn't faze me—it just added to the experience. "Mmmph!" I mumbled through a mouthful, savoring the crispy skin and fluffy insides.

Andrea watched me with an amused smile before heading back inside.

As I chewed, I leaned back against the tree, staring up at the sky. Moments like these reminded me how lucky I was. Sure, my powers were a ticking time bomb, and the Voice's cryptic warnings loomed over me like a dark cloud, but this life? It was good.

_____𖤍_____

Okay—now that Andrea's out of the picture, I've got no distractions. Time to head into the omni-state. It's all I can really do for now.

'You've got this,' I told myself, trying to sound confident. But, let's be honest, I was kind of lying. Sure, entering the omni-state didn't take much energy, but the real problem? Eon exhaustion. Too much time in that state, and I'd pass out like someone hit the off switch. Every. Single. Time.

Still, I needed to try.

Deep breath. Click.

It was like flipping a switch. One second, everything felt normal—boring, even—and then bam. Omni-state.

The changes hit instantly. My hair blazed bright yellow like someone had set it on fire, except, you know, less deadly. My pupils shifted, forming dragon-like symbols that seemed to glow with a life of their own. And both my hands? Marked with vivid blue dragon designs that pulsed faintly, as if they were alive.

One second had passed.

'Alright. Let's figure this out,' I thought, shaking off the initial rush. But before I did anything, I needed a proper testing ground.

"Omni, suggest a place."

The words weren't spoken—they didn't need to be. They echoed in my mind like a ripple in a pond.

And then—Whrrr!

Reality folded in on itself. Colors I couldn't even describe twisted and blurred around me, stabbing at my eyes with their impossibility. Seriously, these weren't colors. They weren't supposed to exist. The ground—or whatever passed for it—looked like some kind of abstract painting, shifting and swirling in ways that made me question my sanity.

'Alright. This… this is weird.'

But hey, at least it was isolated. No one was around to judge me for looking like a lunatic.

I focused, running through everything I'd learned so far about the omni-state. I could stop time, rewind it, fast-forward it—basically anything involving time. That was old news. What I really wanted was to push the boundaries, to do something new.

A massive rock—or maybe a floating planet, depending on how you looked at it—caught my eye. It hovered in this bizarre void, surrounded by those nonexistent colors. To me, though, it was just a big chunk of rock. Nothing special.

I flew closer, the movement effortless, like gravity didn't apply here. My hand tingled with omnipotent energy, glowing faintly as I reached out.

'Can I… can I make it alive?'

The second my hand touched the rock, a surge of yellow light burst from it. The glow spread, wrapping around the entire surface like it was breathing life into the lifeless.

And then—

"Hello!"

The voice startled me so badly I almost jumped out of my skin. The rock—no, the thing I'd created—was staring at me. Or rather, a million of its blinking eyes were. Two mouths gaped open in what could only be described as a very unsettling smile.

"What the…" I backed up instinctively, trying to process what I'd done.

The thing blinked. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

It could talk. It could talk.

"A-AAAHHHHH!" I screamed, pointing at it. "YOU DO NOT EXIST!"

"Wha—"

Before it could say another word, I wiped it out of existence with a thought. Just like that, the abomination was gone.

I stood there for a moment, breathing heavily. My heart—or whatever counted as a heart in this state—was pounding.

'What the hell was that?'

The thought lingered as I glanced at my hands, still glowing faintly. Sure, I'd brought a rock to life, but at what cost? The thing had been… wrong.

Still, a tiny pang of guilt tugged at me. Did I just kill the first living thing I ever made? Even God didn't kill Adam and Eve instantly after all they've done.

But there was no time to dwell on it. A quick glance at my internal clock told me fifty seconds had passed. I didn't have much time left before the omni-state kicked me out.

With a thought, I returned to Earth. The glowing marks faded from my hands, my hair lost its golden sheen, and my pupils returned to normal.

I sighed, the weight of exhaustion already creeping in.

An army of monster rocks. Yeah, that could work. No one's getting near my family if I have those things.
