Chapter 43
Despite the instant sending of each treasure with just one touch to the inventory, it still took me two whole hours to collect everything, although if I had run at full speed, I might have collected it faster. There were literally tens of thousands of gold bars alone, each one. And there is no point in talking about the amount of everything else. After all, at first glance, there was even more silver here than gold.
Finally, having completely emptied this huge cave, I finally returned home, finding myself right in front of Integra's door. I knocked, and without waiting for an answer, I went inside.
- Seras? - Integra was surprised.
- Inti, we need a very large secure room where I can lay everything out, - I immediately informed the woman with a wide smile.
- Post it? - At first, Integra didn't understand what I was talking about, and then she jumped up. - Have you found everything yet?!
- Yes! - I answered happily.
Hearing my answer, Integra immediately contacted Walter.
- Walter, open the largest basement warehouse, Seras and I will be there soon. - Having finished speaking, she hung up the phone and immediately headed for the exit. - Let's go Seras.
While Integra and I were walking to the basement, the Master contacted me. - "What did you do, policewoman? Considering recent events, Integra's mood is extremely interesting."
"I found something that should solve Helsing's financial problem," I replied.
"Oh, really? Let's see what you found," Alucard said, clearly interested.
When we arrived in the basement, Integra led me to a place where I had been before, but all the doors there were closed, so I quickly lost interest. And now, at the end of the corridor, I saw one of them open for the first time.
- As you asked, Sir, the largest warehouse. - said Walter, who was meeting us.
"Okay," Integra nodded, then looked at me. "Seras?"
- Yes, this warehouse will be more than enough, - I confirmed, looking around the warehouse the size of a football field, after which I headed to the nearest corner and began to line up the gold bars along the wall in neat stacks of 5 rows. It was all much quicker to get out of the inventory, but even so, in order to do it neatly, I spent half an hour.
- Whew. - a whistle suddenly sounded.
- Policewoman, and I see you don't mess around with trifles, - said Alucard, clearly impressed, coming out of the shadow portal.
And if Alucard was impressed, then Walter and Integra were literally in shock. In front of them was a simply enormous fortune of several dozen tons of gold, an even greater amount of silver, as well as precious stones,
"Is that a golden statue of the Virgin Mary?" Walter asked, stunned.
"Yes," I confirmed with a joyful smile.
- Hahahahahahahaha. - Alucard suddenly laughed, and a few seconds later Integra pulled me into her arms and, like a happy girl, joined in the laughter.
- Seras, you are the best thing that has happened to Hellsing in a long time. - The girl said, calming down a little and letting me go. I never expected to see this side of Integra, but she is quite cute.
Perhaps only Walter silently looked at us with a warm smile. Honestly, each time it becomes more and more difficult for me to believe that he would betray us.
- Church treasure found by a vampire. The Vatican will be turned upside down when it finds out about this. - Alucard said, grinning as he approached the statue.
- Alucard, you're not going to do anything inappropriate, are you? - Integra looked coldly at the vampire.
- It never even crossed my mind. - Alucard feigned innocence and walked away from the statue.
- Seras, I will need your help in delivering the statue and crucifixes to the queen. I think it would be best for outsiders not to know about the rest. - It seemed that doubts about Alucard's actions had pushed Integra to return to her usual behavior.
- Yes, sir.
- Great, that's all for today then. - Integra said, getting ready to leave until her gaze fell on Alucard and after a slight hesitation she added. - You know Seras, take the statue now and then come to my office.
"Yes, sir," I saluted again before putting the golden statue back into my inventory.
"Did it seem to me or was the Master disappointed?" I looked at Alucard doubtfully and judging by Walter's look, I wasn't the only one who had this thought.
- Walter, - Integra suddenly turned to the butler, already at the door.
- Yes, sir?
- Go and rest, tomorrow will be a hard day, - the girl ordered before finally leaving the warehouse.
"As you command." Walter replied with a smirk on his face, and then looked at me with the same expression. "Don't keep Integra waiting, Seras."
- That's right Seras, don't make her wait. - Alucard supported Walter, though there was a hint of mockery in his words?
"Um, okay?" I answered hesitantly. Honestly, the fact that they both looked like they knew what I expected from this night was rather embarrassing, so I immediately hurried away from their company.
- You're unlucky with female attention, Alucard. - Walter said with a sly smile after waiting for Seras to leave.
- Oh, shut your mouth, - the vampire answered with hostility.
- I hope you haven't forgotten about our argument? - the butler asked, radiating joy.
- Do you doubt my words? - Alucard looked menacingly at the old man.
- No, what are you saying, it just so happened that today the corridors were covered from floor to ceiling in blood and other not very pleasant entrails. I'm not sure a vampire of your standing would be ready to clean something like that up. - Walter clearly enjoyed getting the opportunity to mock the vampire in this way.
"Walter, don't cross the line," the vampire was clearly angry.
- Oh-hoh. The poor old man is no longer allowed to have fun. - the butler shook his head. - To be honest, I'm a little surprised that you didn't forbid Seras to develop a relationship with Integra.
"She is not a slave, but my precious child," the vampire answered with unexpected warmth for Walter.
"I wouldn't deprive her of her happiness for the sake of an argument," Alucard finished speaking and slowly disappeared into the shadows.
"How can I continue to think of you as a crazy monster when you've changed so much?" Walter said with a complex expression, showing an uncharacteristic lack of confidence in the future.
