__________

As Lorraine contemplated his next move, he realized that developing his own tribe from scratch would take too long. Even if he took care of Freya day and night, asking her to bear him little goblins, it would still take a long time for them to form a tribe.

Instead, Lorraine decided it would be quicker to join another goblin tribe, overthrow their leader, and take control for himself!

The next morning, Lorraine finally reached the southeastern edge of the Shadow Forest. He found a simple fence adorned with tattered cloth hanging outside a cave, surrounded by scattered skeletons.

This was a typical goblin lair, just like the one he had encountered before. It was clear that a tribe of goblins, numbering at least a few dozen, lived here.

As Lorraine approached, he was ambushed by a goblin scout perched in a tree. A large number of goblins leaped from the surrounding bushes and quickly tied him up.

"Hahahahaha, great! A goblin from another tribe has come to our door. Looks like we'll have meat to eat again!" Laughed a goblin captain, stepping forward with a stone spear in hand, licking his lips.

Lorraine then learned from the system's information that goblins in this world had no concept of kinship. Goblins from different tribes often cannibalized each other, including their own kind.

Goblins reproduced at an astonishing rate, faster than cockroaches. There was no reproductive isolation among them, and as long as a female creature was the right size, any goblin could impregnate her. The gestation period was only ten days.

Within ten days, baby goblins were born. After just twenty more days of development, the goblins' bodies matured, including their reproductive systems, and they became adults.

This rapid reproduction meant that goblin tribes could grow to hundreds in less than half a year, which explained the constant tribal conflicts.

Furthermore, there was an odd feature of this world: all intelligent creatures subconsciously perceived goblins as harmless, no matter how strong or numerous they were. Goblins would only be eliminated if they truly posed a threat, but even then, they would not be eradicated completely.

Though goblins reproduced quickly, they required sufficient food to keep expanding, and once a tribe grew too large, it could no longer reproduce. This behavior resembled bacterial clusters, which reproduce rapidly until they reach a size that halts further growth.

As Lorraine was processing the information, the goblin captain, unaware of the danger, approached him and attempted to poke him in the crotch with his stone spear.

To borrow a phrase from Goblin Slayer: Goblins might be dumb, but they're not stupid.

Even when facing goblins of the same species, they target the most vulnerable spots. A quick strike to the crotch was far more likely to incapacitate the opponent than targeting the head.

After all, goblins have no female members in their tribes, and hitting a goblin's crotch can instantly neutralize them, even if it doesn't kill them.

In the goblin captain's mind, striking Lorraine there would ensure breakfast for the day.

However, Lorraine merely shot him a cold glance and noticed that the goblin captain was merely an ordinary level 9 goblin, with no special skills. His strength and speed were only marginally better than the average goblin.

This was an opportunity to make an example out of him!

At this critical moment, Lorraine raised his right hand slowly. In his palm, a ball of black lightning crackled with a cold, threatening aura, emitting a dangerously intense glow.

"Thunder Control Technique!" Lorraine murmured softly, his voice firm.

The ball of lightning shot towards the goblin captain with terrifying speed, hitting its target—the goblin's crotch—dead on.

The moment the black lightning struck, a powerful visual and auditory explosion filled the air.

The goblin captain's body was immediately engulfed in the black lightning and was reduced to a charred husk, falling to the ground without even a chance to scream.

The surrounding air grew hot from the release of power, and the goblins, who had been watching in stunned silence, could only stare in shock.

Lorraine withdrew his hand nonchalantly, his expression unchanged. It was as if the incredible feat he had just displayed was a trivial matter.

The goblin captain's charred body lay as a testament to Lorraine's strength, and it served as a warning to the other goblins not to challenge him.

With a single move, Lorraine had turned the goblin captain into a crispy "chicken boy."

The other goblins, now filled with fear, started retreating, stepping back one by one.

At that moment, a goblin shaman appeared from the bushes.

Lorraine looked up and saw the old, hunched goblin, wearing a bone mask with intricate patterns that seemed to carry magical power. His hair was as white as snow, and two tattered cloths covered his cheeks, leaving only a sharp, cunning nose visible.

Around his neck hung ornaments made from various creature bones, and he held a bone staff carved with an elaborate totem at its tip.

It was clear: this was the leader of the goblin lair.

A high-level species, the Goblin Shaman, had appeared in this lair!

Goblin Shamans were rare and powerful goblins with magical abilities. They were often the leaders of small goblin settlements, more powerful than iron-level adventurers and even silver-level adventurers.

"Hehehehe…"

"Very good. You are strong. I will allow you to join us, and we can share meat and women together!" The Goblin Shaman said, his voice brief and to the point.

High-level goblins like the Goblin Shaman possessed intelligence, but their language skills were underdeveloped. They spoke directly and simply.

Lorraine observed that the Goblin Shaman was the highest-level goblin here, aside from the recently deceased captain. The two of them were likely the leaders of this tribe.

A saying he had heard before came to mind: the eldest goblin brother is greedy and cunning, while the second is cunning and greedy. It seemed to be true.

The goblin captain had tried to ambush Lorraine, but fortunately, Lorraine had used his Thunder Control to defeat him.

The Goblin Shaman was just as cunning. He saw his second-in-command fall and, instead of seeking revenge immediately, tried to recruit Lorraine, even though Lorraine had killed his second-in-command.

This reflected the Goblin Shaman's wisdom. He couldn't gauge Lorraine's true strength, but seeing a goblin use magic, he assumed Lorraine had considerable power and could become a valuable asset to his tribe.

A tribe with two Goblin Shamans would surely grow stronger.

"No problem, I'll join, but only if you make me second-in-command."

Lorraine's response was straightforward. This was exactly his plan: join the goblin nest, wait for an opportunity, and then kill the Goblin Shaman to take control of the lair.

And of course, he would never share women with this crafty Goblin Shaman.

His philosophy was clear: I eat the meat first, and enjoy the women alone!

"Second-in-command? What are you capable of? You know only a little magic. You can't be second-in-command." The Goblin Shaman scoffed, stepping closer to Lorraine. His long, ugly face, covered with black hair, was nearly touching Lorraine's, his sly smile widening.

As goblins evolved, their behavior became more similar to humans. The Goblin Shaman now resembled an old, treacherous human minister.

"I can craft bows and arrows, allowing us to attack from a distance. This will make hunting and plundering women much easier." Lorraine added, his voice firm.

The goblins around them exchanged surprised glances at Lorraine's words.

Bows and arrows?! They were familiar with the concept, having seen the elves use them with deadly accuracy.

Lorraine had just given them an opportunity for a significant leap in combat power.

"Wow! That's amazing! With bows and arrows, hunting will be easier, and we'll have plenty of meat to eat! No more chewing on tree bark!" One goblin exclaimed.

"We can even attack the elf tribe in the north!" Another added.

"And the human church in the south has lots of nuns... Just thinking about it is making my mouth water!"

"What do you know? Nuns are nothing compared to elves. I prefer a blonde elf!" Another goblin argued.

"How can those thin arms and legs be as delicious as the big butt and big breasts of human nuns?"

The Goblin Shaman ignored the quarrel of his goblins and instead laughed "Jijiejiejie" like an evil and sharp elder of the Soul Hall:
