It was sunny until the rain suddenly poured down the stone pavement.
Passersby rushed to take cover. It was an unexpected encounter, so most of them didn't care enough to bring an umbrella with them. Except for those, of course, who use umbrellas to hide from the sun. The bustling streets of Rosella instantly cleared up.
Rosella is best known for having the best shops and restaurants in town. The owners were very happy to have this much people trapped in their shops. The longer they stay, the more they are going to purchase, whether they need or not. It was definitely a blessing from the lord! Maybe not all rain is bad for business. And definitely not the ones that involve umbrellas and raincoats.
A young woman in fancy clothing looked around. She was almost done with her trip and was about to head home when the disaster struck. She was wearing her favorite dress, didn't want to risk it to look for a cab. Unfortunately though, she hurried off to a store that did not quiet match her. So much so she didn't even remember a store like this to exist till now. She knew the streets and stores like the back of her hand. "Miss Rosella" felt a sharp jab in her ego.
The store was very shabby and old. It felt like it has been there since the start of time itself. Yet somehow it was clean and dusted. No cobwebs or dirt in the ebony wooden room. Spacious room filled with rows and rows of shelves, and they were filled to the brim with random things. Compared to the dark room, the woman seemed to be glowing in her light pink and white dress. She could hear the pitter patter sound of the rain but wondered where the window was.
"Oh my! My Merlin told me I have a customer yet I thought an angel graced my shop," a woman entered through the curtained door behind the wooden counter, "I am the owner of this shop. Can I help you with anything particular? Miss...?"
The customer girl broke out of her shock, "Ah, Hannah. Hannah Curtlin."
"Well, hello Ms.Curtlin. Anything I can help you with?"
"None yet. I was just browsing," Hannah didn't even know why she was feeling so embarrassed. She actually didn't need anything from here but she can't also go out because of the stupid rain that decided to come out of nowhere.
The owner lady gave her a smile. Hannah felt like the lady knew what she was thinking. "Please, go ahead. I am here if you want to know about anything."
Hannah saw her turn around and walk behind the counter. She never saw any owner of any shop wear such an extravagant black gown to serve a customer before. Her attire somehow completely matched with her. She was so beautiful, that Hannah felt like she was seeing a historical drama where the rich wife is attending her husband's funeral. Not wanting to be a creep, Hannah turned around to explore the mysterious shop.
Soon enough, she was so invested that she didn't even notice the rain had stopped, and the sun was shining again.
