Chapter 1 - First chapter

In the dying light of a world on the brink of collapse, a few fractured kingdoms remained, each one struggling for survival amidst the ruins of a once-great civilization. The land was scarred by endless wars, its rivers choked by the remnants of cities long abandoned. The once-vibrant skies, now clouded with ash, seemed to echo the decay below.

The kingdoms, once united by trade and diplomacy, now fought bitterly for the last remaining resources: fertile land, food, and the power to reign over what little remained. They were all that stood between the world and utter desolation, but the wars they waged only hastened the inevitable end. The land itself seemed to recoil from their conflict, as if nature itself was tired of their endless struggle.

The cries of battle echoed through the plains and forests, each clash of steel marking the desperate final attempt to dominate what was left. The soldiers, weary and hungry, fought not for glory or honor, but for survival. They were pawns in a game they did not understand, each kingdom too consumed by its own hunger for power to see the greater threat approaching.

It was in the heart of this chaos that the prophecy resurfaced, like a forgotten whisper in the wind.

Once, long ago, a seer had foreseen the fall of the kingdoms, a time when the planet would grow barren, and the people would turn on each other. But amidst the darkness, a child born under the rare eclipse would come—either to restore balance and save the land, or to unleash a final catastrophe that would end it all.

For generations, the prophecy had been dismissed as superstition, an old tale meant to comfort those too weak to face the harshness of reality. But now, as the world crumbled, it was all anyone could speak of.

The kingdoms, desperate and paranoid, each sought to find the child of the eclipse before their rivals could. Armies marched in search of this child, driven by the fear that whoever controlled the prophesied one would hold the power to reshape the future.

But far beyond the reach of these warring kingdoms, within a distant hall of clouds and stars, something watched. A presence, removed from time and place, observed as the chaos unfolded below. There was no need to intervene. The story was already being written, and the threads of fate were spinning themselves.

In one of the kingdoms that still clung to life, a princess stood in the shadow of her father's throne, feeling the weight of the world pressing against her. The kingdom, once prosperous, was now teetering on the edge of ruin. The bloodshed from neighboring realms had reached their borders, and the royal family struggled to maintain control of their diminishing resources. The royal advisors spoke of alliances, of war, of the prophecy, but none of it mattered.

The princess, young and resolute, had heard the whispers. The child of the eclipse—could she be the one? Could the prophecy be true? And if so, what did it mean for her, for her people, for the fate of all the kingdoms?

Her mind was made. She would not sit idly by while the world destroyed itself. But whether she would fight for the prophecy or against it, she was not sure. The future was a maze of uncertainty, and for once, she felt the sting of helplessness.

The queen, her mother, entered the chamber, her face as stern as ever.

"You've heard the rumors, haven't you?" the queen asked, her voice heavy with concern.

The princess nodded, her thoughts weighed down by the prophecy. "I've heard them all."

"Do you believe it?"

"I believe only in what we can do now," the princess replied. "We can't wait for a prophecy to save us. We need to act before it's too late."

Her mother's gaze softened for a moment, but only for a fleeting second. "You are your father's daughter," she said, almost to herself. "But you must understand—there are forces in this world that we cannot control. Even the greatest of kings cannot fight against fate forever."

The princess turned her eyes to the horizon, where the sky darkened with the storm that seemed to approach from all directions. War, famine, disease—each nation was falling apart, and no one could predict which would crumble first.

The prophecy was a bitter truth, one that could no longer be ignored.

But whether the child of the eclipse would come to save them, or to doom them all, was a question that had yet to be answered.
