Waking up in a luxuries bed, red curtains cover the floor-to-ceiling windows that blocked out the warm rays of the sunlight; Cassandra Kindred, a 7 year old girl waking up to the surreal sight before her. Looking around in the dimly lited from, from the marbled floors that held long couches and fancy dresser tables, to the walls that have unique engraving on the trims and portraits that displayed landscapes.
Getting out of bed, Cassandra ran to the first mirror that she could find and almost screamed, hadn't the shock overtook her body and mind. "This… this can't be happening!?" she quietly stammered.
Cassandra Kindred, or more precisely, Amber Kim, a 28 year old woman, found herself in the body of a 7 year old girls body. Her dark red hair, honeycomb eyes and fair skin, this was no mistake about it, Amber knew that she was in the body of Cassandra, a villainess in her favourite series, 'Venom Heart'.
After a moment of shock, Cassandra let out a sigh. With every possibilities going around her head, there wasn't much she could do as of right now, 'if this is a dream, then I could wake up anytime I want' she thought as she started to walk away from the mirror. But after taking steps away, a chilling thought pasted her mind, 'but if I have really been put into this game… and I am really the villainess…' it wasn't something she wished to think about, but then again…
As she was still in the mist of thinking, a knock echoed through the still room, "lady Cassandra, it's time to wake up" a voice called.
The door opened and in walks two maids, both shocked to see Cassandra up already and out of bed.
"Oh!" One of them gasped out, but quickly corrected herself, "good morning my lady, I see you have woken up quite early, how was your sleep?"
Cassandra watched as one of the maids walked past her to the windows and opened the curtains, letting the bight sunlight burn its way into the room, causing Cassandra to wince slightly. The other maid went to the dresser and started pulling out different clothing and setting them to the side.
"…fine…" was all that Cassandra could reply. In truth, she didn't know how the original Cassandra would normally reply, but her best bet was to act distant for now.
This didn't seem to make the maids flinch or look at her weirdly, so she believed it to be the correct response. Cassandra crossed her arms as she walked over to couch and lean beside it, watching as the maid pulled different coloured dresses, until finally resting on a deep purple one with white frills at the bottom. I watched as she guided me to the bathroom and prepared a bath for me. "My lady" the maid asked, "are you still tired?"
Thinking about it for a moment, Cassandra nodded her head, still not saying much for now.
The maid smiled before turning around adding bath salts and bubbles, "I know that the trip to the capital will be the first time you have travelled that far, but please don't worry my lady, because I know you will have the best time in your life" the maid said cheerfully.
At that moment, the other maid walked in and overheard a bit of the conversation; "that's right my lady" the other maid chimed in, "plus you will get the meet with the young prince too, oh, and maybe you could make some friends around your age as well."
Cassandra held a small smile at that which made the maids happy, but deep down, Cassandra felt weird and uncomfortable. Being friends with a child… this feels wrong on so many levels. Although she appears as a child, she has the mentality of a fully grown adult. With all the other books she read, when something like this happens, the main character easily falls into the roll. Although Cassandra had believed that the main characters could have fallen into some sort of age regression, it's still weird how a fully grown adult could act so childish, especially in a body and life of someone else (or they may have some inner child syndrome that needs heeling, who knows).
As Cassandra got undressed and hopped into the bath, a thought passed her mind, 'wait a minute, did she say capital? And meeting the crown prince?' While the maid was brushing and washing her hair, Cassandra recalled the series in question.
Venom Heart, a gaming series that has been Amber's childhood and obsession. The story was based around trauma, each game represented different effect of what trauma can cause and what it leaves behind. It was a cute game when it first released, but after five years, it went into development again and was realised not only a choice based game, but also a mature game, with spicy DLC's. Amber held no shame to admit she had played all routes, good and bad endings, and everything in between, but with the mentioned of the capital, it was clear that this stories trauma will start out.
At the capital, all the nobles will be there with their children. Originally it was for the king to discuss some political business, but it was also used for the crown prince to find his bride. Which is why, only selected family members will be bringing their kids.
Around that time, as the guest has been split up and the children were taken into the yard, a fire will break out, causing most of the guards to head inside to help out, and leave the servant's to deal with the children, this 'servent's' will guide the kids further away where they would be taken.
A mass kidnapping involving not only the young prince, but also a lot of noble children. The kids were taken to an underground facility run by a rebellion group known as 'The Order'. There, they conducted human experiments, using forbidden magic and various of poisons. Most children didn't make it in those few weeks, and those who did, either died later on by 'illness', turned to substances, or become a void of their former self.
It will take approximately 3 weeks until the children were found.
While sitting in the silence for the bathroom, having the maids wraps Cassandra in a towel before ushering her back into the room where they would get her dressed and ready. One maid, who Cassandra found out is named Mary, combed my hair while Beth, the other maid, fetched the dress she just pulled out not too long ago. Beth asked Mary different kinds of questions, from jewellers, to ribbons, even how to style Cassandra's hair. When they finalised dressing the young lady, they gushed at how pretty Cassandra looked.
As she looked at herself in the full body mirror, she couldn't help but agree with the maids. She looked beautiful in dark clothing, which held some sort of maturity. Her hair is put into a side plat with a black ribbon woven into her hair masterfully. The dark purple dress is long, ending a little past her ankles, with matching purple shoes, and laced gloves. Immediately, because of her hair, you are drawn to her porcelain face and slightly red lips and yellow eyes.
Cassandra Kindred, a cold hearted, blood-thirsty, cruel witch who knows no bounds when it came to malice. But despite it all, there was one thing that no one will ever call her, and that was ugly.
Another knock came from the door, and as Cassandra turned to see who it was, the door opened slightly and a small head of another child had poked through. A shy girl with pink hair shyly peeked in with her golden eyes purely looking at Cassandra. When the girl made eye contact with Cassandra, Cassandra sighed before asking her to come in.
The child, who is of the same age, nervously walked in. Cassandra noticing this, walked over to the couch and asked Mary and Beth to go get some water for her. The maids understood and left the room, leaving the two children in the room alone.
"What's seems to be the problem Willow?" Cassandra asked.
Willow fidget with the seam of her dress; she is wearing a light blue frilly dress, with white ruffles. The dress isn't as long, only stopping just a little below her knees, showing her white socks and light blue pair of shoes to match. Her hair is put up in a bun, with a few strands of hair sitting to her side to frame her innocence looking face. There is a single blue flower in her hair that sit nicely at the base of her bun, while white pearl essence sends sparkles to her already stunning looks.
"Sis, do I look okay?" She asked timidly
Willow Kindred, the daughter of the Kindred family and loved by all, she is the main heroine in this sad story, and she will die a miserable death.
With a gentle smile, Cassandra looked at Willow, "you look very beautiful"
'I will change your fate'.
