It was chaos within the base. Flames erupted along the airstrip as gunfire drowned out the shouts and screaming. Rebels had snuck into their ranks and began their attack earlier than predicted.
Kanesaki stared at the firery wreck before him, rubble and blood was scattered along it. Sakaguchi grabbed his shoulder, trying to pull him away to retreat, but he didn't budge. He just stared at the wreck, his eyes widened in shock and fear. 'Hirabayashi... What... What was that?'
He had zoned out from reality, only focused on the fire. Three rebels ran around the wreck and opened fire, Sakaguchi pulled the Chimera out the way and opened fire with a rifle he had picked up from a dead guard. He shot two and one fell back injured. 'Kanesaki, get a hold of yourself! We gotta get over to Nishihara, now!' As he dragged Kanesaki along with him, the Chimera looked back to the ship, still trying to register what happened.
There was bloodshed in the frontline. Nishihara's group had been hit hard by rebel traitors. Everybody scattered about, infighting had began. They were all fearful that the other was a traitor and began to kill each other. Nishihara couldn't calm them down and a few fired off at him. He looked over, unsheathed the Odachi from his back and dashed over, slicing clean through their bodies. Takao, on the other hand, was trying to help the medical teams. Being a sixth generation, he was adept at surgery and other medical procedures. His weapon was an all-purpose knife which he utilised for helping in the procedures.
Atop the watchtower, Raiden tried to give orders but they were ineffective. He went to get down from the tower until he heard a rumbling in the sky. Looking ahead, through the clouds, he could see a faint light approaching. The rebel frigate rammed itself through the sky, into the watchtower. Raiden leapt from the tower edge and fell far down before he could get his weapon out, a large spear which he utilised to catch himself on the side of the tower. He stared up as the ship crashed through the upper section. A few missiles were fired off from the hulking vehicle. They hit all along the base in random areas, creating more chaos. By this point, morale was more that broken for the garrison.
Sakaguchi and Kanesaki hit by a few cargo crates as they recovered. The officer noticed that Kanesaki was still reeling from the initial attack. 'Hey, get it together. We have to deal with these guys, vans quick.' Kanesaki stared at the floor as he was still lost in thought.
Hirabayashi... Where did you go..? Why'd you push me? You couldn't have just ran? Is it my fault? We were gonna see the flowers of your hometown, right? So why'd you leave so soon? You're like Akio, just leaving when I need you most... Damn you, damn it all... Damn them! Damn those bastards for taking you away! Damn it, Damn it, Damn it! I'll kill them! I swear I'll kill each one of them and not show a hint of mercy! Those bastards!!!
The Chimera's eyes fractured, like last time. Sakaguchi took note and questioned it. 'Hey, Kanesaki, what's happening to you?' No reply was given as the Chimera stood up, his face looked like one of pure hatred and despise. He drew his blade and suddenly leapt over the crates and dashed over to the airstrip, right where most of the rebels were located.
A group of rebels were killing in injured along the strip, roughly 30 or so we're grouped up together within the inferno. They secured the area and got ready to move out until, from the darkness beyond the fire, a shadow dashed into them. The first rebel had no reaction as his head flew, blood pouring out from both wounds. The group aimed their guns at the shadow. The dark red coat was soaked with the first rebel's blood as the Chimera looked up at them all, his eyes cracking further, on the verge of shattering like a mirror.
'You bastards... I'll kill you all myself!'
They opened fire as the bloody killer leapt to another, slicing his throat, dashed to two more and cut through both of their midsections, flipped over to a fourth, dodging multiple bullets as he did before plunging his blade through the man's head as he landed. Blood sprayed uncontrollably, costing the killer as his eyes glowed a piercing violet. He wasn't finished, running at speeds that could match a motorbike as he sliced the arms off his next victim and decapitated him. A few shots went into his back, the Chimera looked back as the rebels all stepped back in fear; they had never dealt with a Chimera like this before. The Chimera took a few steps forward and noticed one of the rebels holding a radio.
'Call them...'
The young man looked in fright as the Chimera spoke. 'Call for reinforcements... I know you want to, you all do... Call them so I can slaughter them too...' They all shuddered, their fingers struggling to hold the triggers of their guns. They knew that they didn't have long left, wishing for better lives in their head's as they'd be dead soon, very soon.
Sakaguchi tried to run over and assist Kanesaki in his seemingly suicidal charge, but was abruptly stopped by a series of shots fired at him from a squad of rebels. He looked back them, annoyed as he threw his uniform off to reveal his large, massively tones physique barely hidden by the YNS. The rebels continued to fire as from behind them, a truck sped past them, heading to ram into the officer. Sakaguchi looked at it and stood in a sumo-like position as the truck rammed into him at full power. Funnily enough, the driver would soon find them his vehicle had been stopped by the sheet hands of the officer. The front wheels lifted off the ground as Sakaguchi gritted his teeth.
There are many a weapon within the officer branch of the military. Many such as the simple sword, axe or rifle. Such weapons are enhanced through the usage of YNS's. However, in the case of my physical strength, plus the YNS... My weapon is me!
Suddenly, Sakaguchi fully lifted the truck before hurling it at the rebels, crushing five of them. Stepping forward, Sakaguchi cracked his neck and shoulder as he approached the man whilst he crawled back in fear. 'How did you all get in here?' Looking up with pure terror in his eyes, the man didn't speak. Grabbing the man by the collar and lifting him up, Sakaguchi looked into the man's eyes with anger. 'Not answering, huh? Fine.' Taking a slight breath, the officer threw the frightened man into the fires along the airstrip. The man screamed in pain before going silent.
Sakaguchi looked around and saw Kanesaki, standing atop the bodies of the rebels. There were 30 Men there no less than two minutes ago, now there was none, just a lone Chimera, covered in their blood.
A small squad of soldiers had cleared out a few rebels and we're moving to put out the fires. One of them heard footsteps coming from the inferno. The group all looked over and saw a lone man walk out from the fire, like a demon incarnate. A figure wearing a mask.
