Huxley came off balance after taking the bullet for Atlas. The bullet had hit her back, just beside her waist.
It was a shock to both Atlas and Runne. No one had expected it.
Runne didn't think to the point that Huxley could catch a bullet for Atlas. Even Atlas didn't see Huxley's love that far.
Hu...Hux.. Huxley?
Her Back was already soaked in her own blood.
Her balance was completely altered so that she fell to Atlas's chest and Atlas was ever sure to have her in his embrace.
Hux...h.. Huxley? Hang in there I'll call the ambulance. Atlas had his tears roll down his cheek as he dialed the emergency number.
Indeed Runne felt sober for having hurt Huxley with his bullet. But he had no other option than to flee. To flee from danger. Any moment the police could arrive. He couldn't lie behind bars. He can't go to jail.
Even though he really likes Huxley he had to hide.
"They are almost here Hux. Just hang on for a while... please".
"At....Atlas. d..don't cry". Huxley allowed her fingers clean off his tears even though it wasn't enough to dry up his watery eyes.
No Huxley. You are not fine now. You need treatment.
Soon enough the ambulance arrived and same time Atlas mom came with her boyfriend.
Huxley was lifted into the vehicle and Atlas wouldn't leave her side. With blood on his body and blood on her hand.
Before oxygen was fixed on her she got the slightest chance to say "happy new year Atlas". And then her hand dropped, not dead though but almost lifeless.
She was feeling pain. She might be losing blood, too much blood.
What if she dies?
Atlas couldn't think straight. He was confused. The only person he loves. The only person that understands his rubbish rants.
He wasn't even ashamed to cry as he joined them in pushing Huxley's stretcher into her ward.

It's the third day after the surgery and it was successful. Huxley hadn't lost so much blood to the point where she might have needed a blood donor.
But since the surgery she has not been able to see Atlas. When ever he comes around she was always asleep. But today was an exception. She was wide awake hoping Atlas would come indeed and then the door cracked open revealing her Atlas.
Anyone would notice the vigourousness she put in trying to run over to him but it wasn't possible. Her hand was connected to some medicals which made it an impossible move.
But Atlas was so overwhelmed by the joy of having to see her alive, those brown eyes of her's looking at him.
