KYRO'S POV
It's been six hours since I last saw Amber and I am currently making my way towards the Hostel entrance. Alison bailed out last minute because of something to do with studying for her two supplementary papers, so now I'm left with Amber.
It can't be that bad. I'm pretty sure Micha is just playing a very sick game and she just decided to take it too far.
Typical Micha, I thought to myself as I reached out for my phone to dial Amber, I just hope she doesn't bail out on me like Alison. It would be weird if I was caught sneaking into an all-female hostel.
What would I say, Oh hey, sorry I was looking for my crazy missing friend. I actually wanted to come with my other two friends but they bailed out so here I am.
Of course not, I thought.
Before my intrusive thoughts got the best of me, I dialed Amber's number and awaited for her response.
"Hey Amber, where you at?" I asked as soon as she picked up.
" Calm down Ky, I am at the students parking lot, give me five minutes." Amber responded and quickly ended the call.
Okay, perfect.
True to Amber's words, she came five minutes later, jogging to where I stood.
"Let's go." Amber said as we made our way towards the Hostel.
Not even a hi. I was beginning to agree with James. Someone was really in a mood.
A few minutes later, we arrived at the fourth floor of the building. We are now standing outside room 264. The mood was very tense, expecting anything at this point. One thing that caught our attention was the fact that the door was slightly open.
Amber pushed herself forward and knocked on the door.
"Marshal? Micha? Is anybody around?" Amber asked as she took cautious steps towards the door.
No response. That's all we got.
UNKNOWN POV
Amber's breath came in shallow gasps as she pushed open the door to Micha's room, Kyro close on her heels. The air inside was heavy and suffocating, tinged with the faint metallic scent of blood. She froze, her eyes locking onto the figure sprawled across the bed.
Micha.
"Oh my God," Amber whispered, her voice trembling as she stepped closer. Micha's chest barely rose and fell, her breath rattling with every exhale. Blood soaked the sheets around her, seeping from a deep wound in her abdomen, chest and neck. Her pale fingers gripped the edge of her comforter, as though trying to ground herself in reality.
"Micha?" Kyro's voice cracked as he rushed to her side, his hands hovering over her body, unsure of where to touch without causing more harm. "What happened? Who did this?"
Micha's eyes fluttered open, unfocused and glassy, her lips moving soundlessly before a faint whisper escaped. "A…"
She struggled to speak, choking in her own blood.
Amber's knees buckled, and she grabbed the bedpost to steady herself. "We need to call for help," she said, fumbling for her phone. Her hands shook so violently she dropped it.
Kyro was already yanking off his hoodie, pressing it against Micha's wound to slow the bleeding. "Stay with us, Micha. You're going to be okay. Help is on the way," he said, though his voice betrayed the panic that churned inside him.
Amber picked her phone and dialed 911, her voice breaking as she gave the operator their location. "She's...b-bleeding badly," she added, her words tumbling out in a rush. "Please help-p us."
Micha's lips twitched, her voice barely audible. "I..-I K-Ky..."
"Yes Micha, Please don't leave us, p-please-e!" Amber said, her eyes stinging with tears. "We're here, Micha. You're not alone. Hang on , please."
Micha's head rolled to the side, her gaze locking onto Amber's. Her eyes, filled with pain and something else—regret? Fear?—seemed to plead for something both couldn't quite grasp. And then her lips moved again, forming a single word that sent a chill down their spine.
"Run!"
Before they could process the warning, the sound of footsteps echoed from the hallway. Heavy, deliberate, and drawing closer.Amber sat on the floor, despair written all over face
Kyro looked up, his eyes wide with alarm. "I think it's the ambulance. Please Micha, hold on."
Amber's heart hammered in her chest as she shook her head. The footsteps stopped just outside the room, and the doorknob began to turn.
