Two days. It's been two whole days since we last saw Micha. We've tried calling her phone numerous times and her phone is not going through. Even Kate Marshal, her room mate back at campus seems to be getting all worked up about it.
This is so unlike Micha. Out of all of us, she's the one who communicates most. Typical Micha would be the first to tell us that she travelled to Seychelles with her boyfriend of two weeks whom she just met on Tinder. So her silence was not only concerning, but also unnerving.
"She might be at home with her parents." James voiced out, as he hoisted himself up lazily, adjusting his seating position as he took a humongous bite of his burger.
"No, I don't think so. If she were, you know very well she would have told us. Something is clearly not right." Kyro reasoned, clearly deep in thought.
"Is she having trouble again with the girl Kate Marshal?" I asked. Their relationship wasn't always the best. They were good friends, but sometimes they'd disagree, but when they did, it wasn't a pretty sight.
" Last I checked, they still haven't reconciled with Marshal. I guess this time it was pretty big because according to Marshal, she apparently walked in on Micha and her boyfriend being intimate with each other. That was last week. Micha has been sleeping at my place since then, afraid to face her faults and apologize to Marshal for sleeping with her boyfriend of three years. But since the day before yesterday, she hasn't come to my place." Alison explained as she emptied her tray in the bin next to her.
"What could she have gotten herself into now?" Kyro asked no one in particular, raising his hands in the air in frustration.
Kyro, the dad in our friend group. He is always too concerned for other people's welfare. If you ask me, I think he should channel his energy elsewhere.
"Let's just hope for the best. I really hope that girl isn't having us all stressed up for nothing. She is probably in Miami committing atrocities with her innumerable boyfriends." James joked.
" Don't say that, she could be in danger as well and were just sitting in this damned cafeteria doing absolutely nothing!" I yelled at James.
He's beginning to piss me off. I don't like how careless he is with his words. He is always insensitive and his words will one day land him in hot soup.
Rolling my eyes, I stood up from my seat. It is pointless staying here and doing absolutely nothing. I quickly picked up my tote bag, throwing it on my shoulder.
"If you guys aren't going to help me find Micha, you might as well go to hell!!." I said, making my way towards the exit of the school cafeteria.
"Someone's in a mood. I'll get you your essentials for your bloody days." James snickered behind me.
He will surely pay for that. I thought silently as I made my way towards the town, a few minutes outside campus to buy some products and groceries for the week.
"Hey Amber!! Wait for me." Kyro shouted from behind me. Turning back, I watched him running up to me. I slowed down my pace as I wondered what the hell he wanted. I didn't want to talk to another douchebag.
"Hey hey wait up. Don't be upset. You know James, he could be a jerk sometimes, but he didn't mean it. Look, let me help you and Alison look for her. We can do this together." Kyro said breathlessly.
"Fine." I muttered under my breath, still mad at James' unnecessary remarks.
"How about we pass by her hostel in the evening, just to check if she's there then maybe we can ask Marshal. She might be with Marshal's boyfriend still for all we know. Micha is so unpredictable." Kyro suggested.
"Okay you have a point. However, I still need to go off campus to run some errands and buy some groceries for the week." I said, hoping he won't follow me around like some lost puppy.
"Alright, take care. I'll head to my room. Let's meet at 8.00pm at the hostel entrance, bye" Kyro says running off.
"That's fine by me." I responded, making my way to my 2019 Honda civic.
This will be a long night, I had a feeling about it that I couldn't shake off.
Micha Kornet. That's the last thought I had in mind as I stared at my reflection in my review mirror.
A few hours, only a few hours till I finally discover what happened to you Micha Kornet.
I let myself get lost in my own thoughts as I drive towards my destination.
