Chapter 90 - CHAPTER 90

After putting away her phone, Alexis entered the room and enthusiastically spoke to the doctor from abroad.

"Please make sure my sister doesn't get any scars. She's still young and beautiful, we can't let her ruin her appearance."

Alexis advised kindly.

Dr. Wilson, when faced with a beauty like Alexis, although he had worked on countless beautiful women before, her delicate and natural features were very rare.

Naturally, even he, who had seen many people, could not resist her soft gaze. "Don't worry, Miss Wells. Mr. Blackwood also instructed me ,and with me here, Madam will definitely not have any scars. I guarantee it will be even more perfect than before."

The word "Madam" made Alexis' ears feel like they were being pricked.

But in front of Avery, she still had to maintain her good sister image: "That's good, I'll leave my sister to you."

Avery quietly let the doctor apply the medicine to her forehead and listened to the conversation between her sister and the doctor. She closed her eyes and fell asleep without realizing it. When she woke up, the treatment had already ended.

Alexis pulled her up from the recliner and said gently, "Avery, you can get up now. The doctor said he will write a treatment plan in the afternoon, so you can rest well in the afternoon."

Avery had a plan in mind. She had already skipped a few classes in the morning, and she couldn't afford to rest in the afternoon.

"What time is it now, sis?"

"It's exactly twelve o'clock."

"I have to go buy lunch for Julian."

The moment she got up, she felt dizzy and everything around her was spinning. It took her a while to stand firmly.

"I'll go with you." Alexis helped

her up and they both left the wound dressing room.

At the hospital entrance, the two of them ran into Lena.

She was carrying two insulated lunch boxes, which seemed to be for Julian.

She saw Avery coming out, with a bandage on her head, and frowned, "It's already noon, where are you going?"

"Auntie, I..." Avery was about to speak, but Alexis spoke first, "Hello, Auntie. Avery and I are going to buy lunch for the child of the housekeeper, Julian. Are you also here to visit him? It seems that we don't need to buy lunch anymore. You are really kind to that child."

Lena's frown deepened, and her face darkened.

"I didn't ask you." She glanced at Alexis displeasedly, then looked at Avery, "Your wound hasn't healed yet, why did you come out? Aren't you afraid of infection? Go back."

It had only been a few days, but Lena was still so strict.

Fortunately, Avery was used to it. She obediently responded with an "um" and reached out to take the insulated lunch boxes from Lena's hands, "Auntie, let me carry them."

"Okay, it's a bit heavy. Be careful not to spill the soup," Lena handed one of the thermos to Avery without any hesitation.

Usually, when Lena brought food for Julian, she would bring it in a thermos.

But early this morning, Ethan called her and asked her to prepare an extra lunch for Avery.

Avery followed Lena closely, holding the thermos carefully.

Suddenly, she thought of her sister and turned to Alexis, "Sis, let's go in together. Auntie has prepared enough lunch for us."

Alexis had just been scolded and ignored by Lena , feeling upset.

Now, seeing Avery inviting her, she nodded, "Okay, let me help you carry it, sis." She tried every means to get close to Ethan, wanting to take the position of Mrs. Blackwood. The first thing she had to do was to please Lena, who was like an aunt to Avery.

Alexis thought so, and no matter how cold Lena was to her, she would always be warm and friendly.

But before her hand touched the thermos in Avery's hand, Lena quickly reached out and slapped it away.

"No!" Lena looked at Alexis coldly, with a hint of indescribable coldness in her stern eyes, "This is for my family. If you're hungry, there are plenty of restaurants across the street from the hospital. You can go there to eat."

Without giving any face to Alexis, she pulled Avery away after speaking.

Left behind, Alexis watched as they walked away, feeling increasingly dissatisfied and resentful.

Who does Lena think she is?

Just because she's Ethan's face aunt? If she angers him, won't she just get punished? What's there to be proud of?

Avery turned back to look a few times, seeing the sadness on her sister's face, and felt apologetic.

She wanted to pull her sister back or go out to eat with her, but with Lena there, she didn't dare.

Looking at Lena's dignified profile, Avery didn't dare say a word and followed obediently behind her to Julian's room on the ninth floor of the hospital.

On the way up in the elevator, Lena remembered what Alexis had said and said coldly, "In the future, don't let your sister come to the hospital to see Julian unless it's necessary."

"Aunt, my sister didn't mean any harm, and she didn't even know that Julian was...was Ethan's child," Avery explained quickly. "I told her that Julian was the housekeeper's child, so don't worry."

Lena snorted coldly. "Do you think she's as stupid as you are? Qin is so old, how could he have such a young child like Julian?"

Lena felt that Alexis' flattery earlier was all an act. If she really thought Julian was Qin's child, why would the Avery bother to take care of a housekeeper's child?

Unless, that woman knew Julian's true identity from the beginning.

Avery knew she couldn't change Lena's mind, so she lowered her head and decided not to comment on the matter anymore.

As soon as her head lowered, she heard Lena's cold reprimand, "Didn't I teach you that you can't just lower your head casually outside? You haven't done anything wrong, why do you keep lowering your head in front of others?"

With this scolding, Avery immediately straightened her back and raised her head, subconsciously wanting to apologize.

But when she turned her head and saw Lena's icy expression, she quickly closed her mouth and didn't dare to say a word.

Seeing Avery like this, Lena shook his head, looking like he was disappointed.

As a result, Avery became even more afraid to speak.

Standing next to Lena, she felt like even breathing was wrong.

In the afternoon, Avery went back to school for classes. When the teacher asked her about the progress of the design draft modification in class, she still had no clue and couldn't give the teacher a satisfactory answer. After school, Ethan personally drove to pick up her up outside the school gate.

When Avery got in the car and saw that there were only the two of them, she casually asked, "Why is it just you? Where's Chad?"

At the words, the man raised his eyebrows displeasedly. "What? he didn't come, so you miss him?"

"No, no, it's not like that." Avery shook her head like a rattle. "I was just asking casually, just asking casually."

For some reason, seeing her eager explanation, Ethan felt inexplicably good.
