As the school ring, signaling the startof lessons, history repeats itself with the usual ringing in his ears. As shoes meet the nearly cleaned floors, the squeaking sounds piercing through his ears like a knife.
"Hey"
Kail heard a voice call from behind and he initially thought it was meant for someone else, but as the person gets closer, the voice begins to sound more familiar. Kail turns around and is met the hazel eyes of Alex who's waving at him like they've been friends for years and he could already feel the judging eyes on him.
"Why is Alex talking to that freak?"
A quiet whisper makes its way to Kail's ears due to his sensitive ears but as always it neither hurt nor affected him. Kail just tilted his head at Alex and narrowed his gaze.
"What do you want?" He speaks in his usual quiet tone that even a person standing right next to him wouldn't hear but for some reason Alex heard him perfectly , that's one thing that surprised Kail but he's never admit.
"You left your note book back at my place, guess it fell from your bag" Alex extended his arm which had Kail's book in his hands. Kail's eyes widen slightly before regaining his usual composure. He takes the book and quietly places it in his back before nodding slowly "thanks" Alex could have sworn he felt his heart flatter at that quiet mumble. "No problem " he grin widely, showing off his long canine again. Kail turns around to leave and Alex, for a split second thought he saw Kail smile. Alex stood in the hallway for what felt like eternity as I watched Kail walk back to class before realizing it's been half an hour. He quickly dashing to class only to see that class had already begun.The math teacher gave him a look before turning around to write on the board and Alex takes his seat. His best friend, Mack taps his shoulder from behind and leans in to whisper in his ears "dude where have you been?" Alex slightly tilts his head back to whisper "I was returning a note"
As Alex turns to face the board again he is met with the teacher's heated glare "Alex how about a bonding moment in detention after class, since you had the guts to be late and talk in class" Alex flinches visibly before laughing nervously and Mack just snickered and muttered quietly "sorry Alex" the teacher gave Mack a look which made him shut up and lessons continued like nothing happened except for one problem...Alex couldn't get a certain messy hair boy out of his mind.....
