What is wrong with me, "huh..." Aeus couldn't look at her eyes, put his hand on his lips, "sorry, it's just that my brain is foggy." "I mean, it's just that I tried because I haven't slept yesterday." I actually didn't sleep for five days, but that was days ago.
She smiled, "how shy of you, Aeus." She stopped at the time.
Now, it's my turn to introduce myself "And my name is Aeus Lisbu. I'm 24 years old, jobless and... huh... that's it," as expected, I suck at introducing myself.
Kurisa gazed at Aeus for a moment. Unable to hold back her laughter,"hehe... what kind of introduction is that?"
Aeus tried to hide his embarrassment. "Did you write the letter?"
She didn't answer directly. Instead, she walked over to his desk, her fingers brushing against the scattered pages of his notebook, flipping through them like they were her own. "You'll understand soon enough," she said, handing the letter back to him with a look that was both knowing and mysterious. "For now, why don't you try to decode it?"
"I had no time nor energy to waste on it." It's better if I just do my research to get rich overnight.
Kurisa's lips curled into a small smile. "Afraid that you might fail?"
Aeus, with absolutely no interest in arguing, "Just leave me alone." She smiled, "For starters, let's leave it like that."
What is she even trying to say. She left his room
Aeus didn't ask anything back. He just lay down on his bed. "Man, I wish I had started following my goals from a young age—wait, why am I even thinking that?"
It was expected that if something mysterious, weird, or bad happened to people, it was the first step to becoming an overthinker. Aeus was in that step, or maybe the even higher.
"I'm tired; I'm gonna go for a walk to clear my mind."
As he was about to get out of the room, he took a glance at the letter curiously. His mind changed as fast as a bullet train, "Nah I'm gonna decode it first."
Aeus picked up the letter.
".llaf retfa, em er'uoY. anc uoy htoB I dnA uoY. od nac ew gnihtemos s'tahT. egarouc fo tol a sekat taht gnihtemos—tnatropmi gnihtemos nehtrogof ev'uoy snaem oslA. .trat dooG s'tahT. evilA llits er'uoY snaem ti, sihT gnidaer er'uoY fI."
He put his hand on his chin, observing it as closely as possible. It is simpler than it looks. It is reversed and, inverting, in a stylistic sense. So if I read it like that, it would be "if you're" and for others—he picked up a ballpoint pen and started writing.
He put down his ballpoint pen. "Damn, I decoded it so fast. I guess I really am a genius." He held the paper.
"If you're reading this, it means you're still alive. That's a good start. But it also means you've forgotten something important—something that takes a lot of courage. That's something we can do. You and I both know you can. You're me, after all."
It states that I have forgotten something important and that it takes a lot of courage, but do I really have something important in my life? And what does it mean by "they're me"?
Is it really written by that girl? Damn, that's too many questions. I can't think anything properly right now. I guess I should take a walk.
after observing closely for kurisa he let a relief breathe, "thanks god now no one will annoy me." He went for a walk.
Back then, I thought walking was ass, but now it's like medicine to me. Aeus heard a crowd noise. As he kept walking, he were on an angle where he could clearly see the performer amidst the crowd.
Unexpectedly, the performer was a penguin. Aues immediately lost interest and kept looking straight. He muttered, "why does people even think penguin are cute.,"
He heard a noise: "Someone help me!" Aeus turned to see an overweight guy with dyed hair—no, actually, it wasn't dyed; it was just dirty—asking for help! He wore a half-pant and an oversized shirt. His body hair was so long that people might start vomiting. I guess that's how people defined "ugly."
Next to him, there was a donation box filled with nothing. The homeless guy cried out, "Someone, please help me! My children are hungry back at home." He called out to a woman.
She was wearing a pastel-colored sundress with lace or floral details, symbolizing her warmth and innocence. She didn't show any disgust toward him. "Do you need anything from me?"
The homeless guy felt relief thinking she was a good person. But in reality, she was anything but innocent. The homeless guy smiled. "Can you please help me, in God's name?"
The lady didn't say anything at first. Instead, she smiled even more and kept staring at him, "don't put God's name in that, you ugly creature."
The homeless guy puzzled, "then can you please help this homeless guy, kind lady." "And why should i help you."
The homeless guy begged, "Please, my children are going to die of starvation." Her smiled fade, "Like i said why should i help you?" He panicked, "Hmm..." "Because I don't have any money and a kind lady will help me right." She ferociously kicked the donation box. " That has nothing"
The homeless guy get down on his feet, " please, my children are going to starve." She looked down on him, " Let me guess by your appearance I'm sure your children are as ugly as you."
"And don't you think If an ugly beings like you and your child weren't here, I'm sure the world would be filled only with beautiful people."
The guy clenched his fists, stared aggressively at the woman. But why now? Why didn't he get angry before? That was obvious. "What is with that stare, you filthy monkey?" He got up and pushed the lady to the ground. "You can call me whatever you want, but if you say anything bad about my child, you'll never forget how scary I was."
She backed away, "I was just kidding, you know... It's just a prank." What a bad lie.
Someone grabbed the homeless guy from behind. "Hey, don't you know Rule No. 1: It's to never hit a lady."
The lady stood up. "Unlike him, you're a well-educated boy."
She took a full swing, slapping him—not just once, not just twice. She slapped him again and again until her hands were red and even the homeless guy's cheeks were filled with blood.
But even so, she didn't stop. She hit him again and again. "You poor people are trash. You don't even know how much we rich people sacrifice."
The homeless guy, unable to even open his eyes, chuckled for a moment. The woman couldn't understand why he was laughing. It was pretty obvious, though. The reason behind it was depression.
He took a deep breath, "Do you even know how much I had to sacrifice? You don't now yeah. So shut the hell up and hear me. 10 years ago, I had taken loan from a company. If I didn't get enough money. my company would be ruined and my family would have suffered."
"In order to not let that happend, I swallowed up my pride and suffered humiliation. I got down on my knees, begged them for some days' extension. I even licked their shoes. And you know what? In order to clear my debt I sold my wife and a f****ng newborn baby just to pay the loan."
"Thinking I would get them back when I became rich. But you know what? I never became rich. I was just delusional."
The woman wide her crystal blue eyes in a shock. NPC, "What happened Miss?" She spoke in both happy and emotional tone, "Didn't you say you had a child?"
The homeless guy said, ashamed, "That was a lie..."
"Tell me, what is your name?"
The homeless guy hesitated. "Huh..."
"Just tell me your name"
Just like that, she asked him so many questions, like a police officer interrogating a criminal. But was he really a criminal?
"Do you kn—"
She hesitated a bit.
"....now, where is our child?"
The homeless guy, "________"
Aeus muttered, "What a great plot twist." Now, what is she gonna do? Beat him up?
Aeus watched as the homeless guy, astonished by her question, "Wha...?"
She jumped on him—not to punch, not to kick, but to kindly hug him. She cried out, "Did you know how many years I waited for you, you idiot." She kissed him. "How dare you not remembering me. You stupid bastard."
The homeless guy couldn't believe his eyes. "Is that really you?"
She grabbed his shirt tightly. "That's right."
He couldn't hold his tears hugged her back tightly. "How have you been doing?"
She lowered her eyes. "I wouldn't say it was good. But now I have you by my side. I'm sure it will be great."
He couldn't hold back his smile. "Hey, now there's no need for you to hug me this tightly." Her eyes were filled with tears of happines, "But... It's just that I'm so happy..."
She looked at him with sparkling eyes. "Now, no matter what, I won't let go of you again."
In the happiness, I had forgotten what sin I had committed. I let go of her. She gave me a puzzled expression. I wanted to say, "Me too," but I know i can't.... i can't.... Because I don't want to hurt with her anymore.
