Chapter 18 - infinite book of enchantment V2

The eerie crimson glow of the Infinite Blade still pulsed faintly as Gok sat in the ruins of the arena, his mind racing. The monumental energy he had unleashed had not only shattered the Crest of the Finger but also awakened something terrifying. Yet, amidst the chaos, something else had caught his eye—something lying amidst the rubble.

It was the Infinite Book of Enchantment, now glowing with a strange, ethereal light, as if resonating with the energy of the Swing of the Devil. Unlike before, when it was a tool for powering up weapons and armor, it now seemed... alive.

The Book's Evolution

As Gok picked it up, the book flipped open on its own, its pages now inscribed with glowing, shifting runes. The text was incomprehensible at first, but as he stared at it, the symbols began to translate in his mind.

"Version 2 Activated: All that is infinite must now bind to the finite."

"What does that mean?" Gok muttered, running his fingers across the glowing page. The book vibrated in response, flipping to a blank page.

A single prompt appeared before him:

"Would you like to enchant your body?"

His eyes widened. Enchant his body? Up until now, enchantments were reserved for objects—blades, shields, armor. But his body?

He hesitated. The thought of enchanting himself with unknown power seemed reckless, but given the events of the last few hours—the shattering of the Crest, the awakening of devil energy, and the looming presence of the Zodiacs—he knew he couldn't afford to hold back.

"I don't have a choice," he said, steeling his resolve. "Do it."

The Enchantment Ritual

The book levitated in front of him, pages flipping wildly as a burst of radiant energy enveloped Gok's hand. The glow spread rapidly, covering his arm and then his entire body.

The pain was searing, as if his very essence was being rewritten. He clenched his teeth, refusing to scream, as the energy coursed through him.

Lines of glowing runes etched themselves into his skin, spiraling around his arms, chest, and legs. His right hand, which had been gripping the Infinite Blade moments earlier, transformed first. The fingers became sharper, almost claw-like, and his palm glowed with a fiery sigil.

The book whispered in his mind:

"Enchantment Complete: Devil's Grasp."

---

New Powers Unleashed

As the light faded, Gok opened his eyes, now glowing faintly red. He flexed his right hand, feeling an overwhelming surge of power coursing through it. A small rock nearby caught his attention, and he reached out instinctively.

The moment his fingers brushed the rock, it disintegrated into a fine mist, as though the very fabric of its existence had been unraveled.

"What... was that?" Gok said, staring at his hand in disbelief.

The book responded telepathically, its voice calm and steady:

"Devil's Grasp allows you to manipulate the molecular structure of anything you touch. Be warned: excessive use will drain your life force."

"Great, a double-edged sword," Gok muttered. "Just what I needed."

A New Enemy Approaches

Before he could test his newfound power further, the ground trembled beneath him. He turned to see a massive figure approaching from the horizon, its silhouette towering against the blood-red sky.

It was humanoid but covered in jagged, metallic armor that reflected the crimson light. Its face was obscured by a helmet, and in its hand was a weapon unlike anything Gok had ever seen—a massive, double-sided axe that crackled with electrical energy.

The figure stopped a few meters away, its voice booming across the ruins.

"So, you're the one who shattered the Crest," it said, its tone dripping with disdain. "You've awakened the devil energy. That makes you a threat to us all."

Gok tightened his grip on the Infinite Blade, his enhanced hand glowing ominously. "And who are you supposed to be?"

"I am Garmadon, the Enforcer of the Balance. Sent by the Zodiacs to eliminate anomalies like you."

---

The Clash

Without warning, Garmadon charged, his massive axe cleaving through the air with terrifying speed. Gok barely dodged, the blade missing him by inches and splitting the ground where he stood.

Gok retaliated, swinging the Infinite Blade with a newfound precision and power. The two weapons collided, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. The runes on Gok's body glowed brighter with each clash, enhancing his speed and strength.

But Garmadon was relentless, his attacks calculated and brutal. With each swing of his axe, he seemed to adapt to Gok's moves, forcing him on the defensive.

"I can't win like this," Gok thought, gritting his teeth. His eyes flicked to his glowing hand. "Time to test this enchantment."

As Garmadon lunged again, Gok sidestepped and reached out with his Devil's Grasp, his hand glowing fiercely. The moment it connected with Garmadon's armor, a surge of energy erupted, and the metal began to disintegrate.

"What—?!" Garmadon roared, stumbling back as pieces of his armor crumbled into dust.

Gok smirked, raising his hand. "Looks like your balance is tipping."

The Aftermath

The battle raged on, but Gok's mastery over his new power grew with each passing moment. With a final swing of the Infinite Blade, enhanced by the Devil's Grasp, he shattered Garmadon's weapon and sent him crashing into the ground.

As the dust settled, Gok stood over his fallen opponent, his body still glowing with the runes of enchantment. He sheathed the Infinite Blade and turned his gaze toward the horizon, where more challenges undoubtedly awaited.

"Let them come," he said, his voice steady. "I'll take them all on."

The chapter ended with Gok walking away from the battlefield, the Infinite Book of Enchantment hovering behind him like a silent guardian.
