Chapter 11 - Chapter 11- Projects

As Arthur left to prepare a detailed report to present to the board about the increase in the StarTech team's budget, Aiden settled back into his executive chair.

The view of the building and the calm of his office provided him with a rare moment of concentration. He glanced at the next report on his desk, about the construction of the theme park in K City, a large-scale project that was being overseen by Star Comp.

As he flipped through the pages, he paused for a moment, noticing an interesting detail: the city government had sold the land next to the park. A small smile formed on Aiden's face as he muttered to himself. "The city government sold the land next door... we can build a fancy hotel there." He felt a rush of excitement. This could not only expand the company's business, but also solidify Star Comp. as a giant in the tourism and entertainment industry.

With that idea in mind, he picked up his cell phone and called the construction subsidiary called SysBuild Constructions, one of the largest construction companies in the country, specializing in large commercial and residential projects. SysBuild was always involved in the largest developments.

Waiting for the call to connect, Aiden reviewed the numbers and plans for the park once more, envisioning what would be the next big step in expanding his operations. He imagined how the new hotel, with its futuristic and luxurious design, could attract not only tourists but also companies and high-end clients to K-City.

Finally, the call connected, and a mature and respectful voice on the other end of the line answered. "CEO Baskerville, what do I owe you for your call?"

Aiden took a deep breath and spoke with authority, "Matthew, are you handling the K-City project?"

On the other end of the line, there was a brief pause before Matthew answered. "Yes, Mr. Baskerville. This is one of the company's major projects this season. We are working to ensure that everything is as planned."

Aiden smiled inwardly at this. Matthew was one of the most competent executives at SysBuild, and his expertise was exactly what he needed. "Great… Get a quote for the land next to the park. We can build a high-end hotel and other attractions in the surrounding area. I want this to be a luxury development." Aiden replied, his voice firm and confident, as always.

Matthew, who knew how accurately Aiden made decisions, did not hesitate to give the appropriate answer. "Of course, Mr. Baskerville. However, this will take a week to be presented. Lately, land auctions in the country have intensified. There are many projects every few days, which has increased the competition."

Aiden looked thoughtful, but quickly responded with his usual certainty. "There is no need to rush, Matthew. This project needs to be done in detail. I do not want mistakes in the designs, and I do not accept improvisation. Take care of every detail to perfection. The construction of this hotel and the attractions surrounding the park must be a showcase for our vision for the future."

Matthew, even on the phone, could almost feel the weight of responsibility in Aiden's words. "Understood, Mr. Baskerville. I will make sure our team dedicates the necessary time to ensure quality. Leave it to us."

Aiden nodded, even though he knew Matthew wouldn't be able to see him. "Great. I'll expect the quote and details next week. Don't make me wait any longer than that." He paused before concluding, "And keep me informed of any changes in the market. The competition never sleeps."

"Absolutely, Mr. Baskerville. I'll be in touch soon," Matthew replied, his mind already focused on the task at hand.

Aiden ended the call and put his phone away. He stared out the window, his mind already envisioning it. A high-end hotel with leisure areas, restaurants, shops, and even corporate event spaces would be a major addition to K-City's infrastructure. Not just a luxury hotel, but a landmark.

He sat back in his chair, flipping through the report again. Now, everything was falling into place perfectly. The hotel would be just the beginning. If he could secure the land next door, he would have the foundation to build a complex that would bring together entertainment, fine dining, business, and leisure in a way no one else in the industry could.

"There's still a lot to do," Aiden muttered to himself, a satisfied smile forming on his lips.

Still sitting at his desk, he began planning the next steps of his expansion, determined to seize every opportunity and every piece of land that came his way. Because for Aiden Baskerville, the future was never a matter of waiting. He would create it with his own hands.

with the clock showing 10:00 p.m. Aiden ends up being caught off guard by the sound of his cell phone's alarm. Aiden looks up tiredly from his reports and looks at his watch and mutters "Hm? Is it that time already?"

Standing up, he stretched slightly before grabbing his jacket and heading towards the door, checking social media on his cell phone.

Upon reaching the company entrance, Aiden waits for his car to arrive whistling.

Watching his car arrive, he waves to the valet and gets in the car, starting it up on the streets.

Aiden walked through the quiet streets at night, the city's headlights shining brightly around him as the sound of his car's engine filled the night. The car glided smoothly through the streets, and Aiden, in a rare moment of pause, looked out the window, admiring the view of the city that never stopped.

As he drove, Aiden opened his cell phone again, deciding to check social media for a moment. In an Instagram post, he came across a photo of his brother Nikolas, the youngest of the Baskerville family, having fun somewhere in the city. Aiden couldn't help but smile when he saw the image, liking the photo before putting his phone away and moving on. It was good to see Nikolas having fun, even though Aiden knew that the young man had his own vision of the future, something very different from his, but still important.

Upon arriving at his house, Aiden parked the car and entered the mansion, already feeling the weight of the night falling over him. He wasn't the type of person who liked to waste time, but that night, he needed a break.

As he walked through the door, the house's AI made a small announcement. "Welcome back, Mister Aiden."

Aiden smiled to himself, feeling the familiarity of the environment he had created himself.

He climbed the stairs towards his room, undressing as he walked, already thinking about what he would do the next day.

Throwing himself onto the bed, Aiden looked up at the ceiling and sighed deeply. His mind was constantly racing, but for that night, he was finally able to close his eyes. In his mind, the future was still being constructed, but for a few moments, he was willing to allow himself a brief rest.
