Isolde's eyes fell panic rising in her chest, "This isn't appropriate, Rose, you and I both know the punishments for speaking ill on the Crown Prince I'd rather we not-"
Rose scoffed, "Punishments? Oh, Isolde, you are so naive. Do you really think anyone would punish me for speaking my mind? I am the future queen, after all."
She stepped around the desk, closing the distance between them with a predatory grace, "No, I think the only one who would face consequences here is you." Rose's eyes flashed with malice as she circled Isolde like a shark.
"Tell me. Now. Otherwise, my men may decide to take a visit to you, dear sweet grandmother."
Isolde felt her heart drop, "Are you insane!" Rose's smile widened, a cruel glint in her eyes. "Insane? No, Isolde. I'm simply protecting what's mine. The prince, the throne, and now... you."
