Chapter 25 - Ch 25: Promotion and ...

Wang Feng was currently standing in the Outer Hall of the High Heaven Pavilion. The reason? Well, he needed a new cabin, possibly one with more concentrated Qi.

Now this was something he saw was different from the novel. In the novel, it was shown that all disciples live on the mountain on the same level. But in reality, he discovered that that was not the case.

Here, the sect was divided into four areas, although there were no boundaries. It was like an unanimous decision of the sect members upon observing the sect buildings.

One was the Outer Area, situated on the lower area of the mountain and closest to the sect gates, where the Outer Hall, Mission Hall and cabins of Outer Disciples were made. Trial Desciples also lived in this area. The desciples in this area live in small cabins made right next to each other.

Next was the Inner Area, also situated on the lower area, but much deeper into the sect mountain than the lower level. Lower Base and Elite Disciples lived here, along with the deacons of the sect (deacons are those old desciples who stay behind and help take care of the sect.). The desciples in this area also lived in small cabins, but their cabins were built at some distance from one another, allowing them privacy and silent environment for their cultivation.

The Treasurer Hall was built between both the Outer and Inner Areas.

Above that was the Core Area, which was made on a higher ground than the other two areas. All the Core Desciples, Elders and the sect master residences were situated here. All Core Desciples and Elders have a small manor of their own, which were made in accordance to the desciple's wishes.

As for the Fourth area. It was the Forbidden area, the Coiling Dragon Stream. Which was situated behind the sect mountain.

The reason for this unanimous divide was the concentration of Qi. The higher and deeper one went into the mountain, the higher the Qi concentration will be.

So now, if Yang Feng wanted a house with higher Qi concentration, he would need to apply for advancement. He only did this because he needed a quite and isolated place for sometime and neither the open area around the Coiling Dragon Stream nor his previous place was a suitable one.

Plus, he could get more Contribution Points by doing so, along with getting himself a small bit of fame, which he wasn't afraid of now because of Meng Wu Ya's complete support. So it was a win-win situation for him.

Wang Feng had just gotten a new set of robes, indicating his new status as a Lower Base Desciple by a deacon. Now, he was going to be led to his new cabin by the deacon.

As they walked, the deacon asked him a few questions randomly. Wang Feng calmly answered a few questions while downplaying a few of them. The deacon then left after showing him the new cabin.

Wang Feng sighed before observing the new cabin. This one was bigger than his previous one, it looked bigger and sturdier than his previous cabin. He shook his head and entered his new residence.

"Hmmmm, it's much better here.", he said as he looked around the cabin that's was nearly twice as spacious than his previous one and was built some distance away from the other cabins. He then went and plopped down on his bed. "And this bed is several times comfier...", he spoke, feeling the soft mattress.

After a few minutes of laying down, he sighed and sat up on the bed. "I should get started with this."

He then exhaled deeply and closed his eyes. He focused deep into his mind and suddenly 'saw' three glowing globs of light, each encircled by chains upon chains along with unfamiliar and ancient runes and alphabets.

These three globs were something he had gained from one of his wishes from that ROB, the Knowledge of three Professional DAOs. Namely the Alchemy DAO, the Artifact DAO and the Array DAO.

Before, Wang Feng couldn't have made use of these things because of his Body Forging Realm cultivation. So he had ignored them and left them untouched. But now it was different.

Now that he had broken through the Qi Sea Realm and had access to his own Qi, he could finally make use of the Knowledge and start his journey of the Professional DAOs.

'Which one should I chose first?', he thought to himself while mentally looking at the three globs. 'I don't have to worry about pills because of Senior Sister and the System Rewards. So Alchemy can wait.'

He then focused on the other two blobs, 'I won't be able to use that Mysterious Grade Artifact, so I need to make one for myself. I also need to have knowledge of the arrays and know how to lay one down.'

With that decided, Wang Feng first turned to the sealed knowledge of Array DAO. As soon as he mentally touched the blob... A set of chains on it loosened before disappearing with a crackling sound.

Instantly, a rush of information flooded into Wang Feng's mind. The knowledge included a lot of things. It had knowledge of runes, different materials, about Feng Shui and it's effects, different sources of power for arrays, different set of formations/arrays and their effects, All that upto Peak Common Grade. But that wasn't all, it included steps of laying down each array, along with ways of cultivating spiritual energy and channel it into the array.

It took a few hours for Wang Feng to completely digest all the knowledge he was dumped with. Once done, he turned to the knowledge of Artifact DAO. This time the same happened to the chains, before knowledge started entering his mind.

This time, the knowledge was about, various ores and metals upto Common Grade, the way of handling each ore, how to choose correct hammer and anvil along with other objects used for refining, the various ways and forms of using each object, the method of controlling flames, the method of processing the ores and shaping them.

It again took him many hours to fully assimilate with the knowledge before he slowly opened his eyes with a pondering look on his face.

Before, he had thought that it would be quite easy for him to cultivate the initial ranks of professions. But only now did he understood that it might not be so. It wasn't actually a problem of knowledge or talent. It was simple, he didn't have any resource on his hand.

Wang Feng thought, 'with the sect points I have, it won't be difficult to get enough resources from the Contribution Hall to make a dozen or so Common Grade Arrays or get a few ores for refining.... I can also blackmail Old Pervert to give me resources, he's bound to have them.'

But Wang Feng didn't immediately leave for the Treasurer Hall. Instead he called out, "Display Profession Missions."

[Profession Missions]

.....

His eyes widened as he saw the reward. "Array Flags and Artifact Furnace... Mysterious Grade....", Wang Feng blinked. He didn't think the rewards to be so good. The reason he didn't react to the Mysterious Grade Cauldron?

He actually had a Spirit Grade Cauldron himself, which was the Antique Insence Burner he gained from the Demon Mystic Tome, so he didn't really need a Mysterious Grade Cauldron.

'This makes it easier. I just need to successfully lay down an array and refine a perfect Common Grade weapon to be able to get these rewards.... The array is easy. Hmm, I can borrow a room from a blacksmith in the town and make a weapon there.'

From what Wang Feng got after absorbing the knowledge, he knew that the weapons below Heaven Grade are fairly easy to make and are not even categories as artifacts, but weapons, requiring just a basic method of refining and the ores. Even a simple professional blacksmith, when given proper ores can make a good Low to Middle Level Common Grade Weapon.

Wang Feng nodded to himself before he stood up, changed his clothes and exited his cabin. He walked towards the Treasurer Hall with purpose. Soon he reached the Treasurer Hall, but he was surprised and at a lose for words when he saw that Meng Wu Ya wasn't in the Hall.

Instead, Xia Ning Chang was the one sitting on his chair, reading a catalogue. Hearing the footsteps, she looked up and saw Wang Feng. A look of joy flashed in her eyes as she asked in her usual tender eyes, "Oh, Junior Brother! You're here... Do you need something?"

Wang Feng blinked before he walking to the desk while scratching his head, "hey, Senior Sister. Uh..yeah, I did want to get something. But, where's Treasurer Meng?", he finished as he stood in front of the desk.

Xia Ning Chang smiled under her veil and answered while putting the catalogue away, "Master said he wanted to look for something after getting some information and told me to stay here. He did say he will be back in a day or two."

Wang Feng raised an eyebrow, 'hmm, so he left just like that?'. Wang Feng sighed and shook his head before looking at Xia Ning Chang again. This time with a soft smile, "So, your staying here in his place. Don't you feel bored?"

Xia Ning Chang chuckled lightly and spoke, "not too much. It's mainly quite these days here as there is still half a month for the monthly salary of all disciples, so there aren't many people coming."

Wang Feng chuckled lightly and the two talked for a few minutes before he asked Xia Ning Chang to give him a few things he needed. Xia Ning Chang nodded and hopped around, looking for the things he needed.

He spent a total of 120 points, getting various ores, a few Enflamed Yang Stones, along with a few other materials and 10 ingots of gold, which was one of the currencies used in this world.

After getting the things he wanted, Wang Feng left, not before reminding Xia Ning Chang to look for him if she needed help. He didn't stop and went to his cabin before arranging the items he had just brought.

He threw the ones he won't be using into his inventory, while keeping a few stuff outside. The items he kept outside were just a few pieces of Common Grade Materials.

He looked towards the material for a second before shaking his head, 'it's best if I practice making those Runes for a bit, before actually trying it.'

{The knowledges of his professions will be called Inheritances or legacies}

With that thought, he closed his eyes and tried to remember all the runes he had learned from the Array Inheritance, which was actually too easy as if all that knowledge had been ingraved into his mind.

A few minutes later, Wang Feng opened his eyes before grabbing a paper and a brush. He dipped the brush in the ink before carefully drawing a symbol on it.

But, unfortunately for him. His movement was too rigid and full of flaws. This made the result not so ... satisfactory. Wang Feng's eyes twitched as he sighed after seeing the symbol that looked to have been drawn by a five year old child.

He rubbed his eyes and thought, 'this might take some time.'

The works that an Array Master performs while setting up a formation can be summed up into, observing the location and Feng Shui, arranging the materials and making array points, connecting all array points into a formation, and give a source to the array.

But, at the current stage, Wang Feng only needed to focus on just, arranging the materials and connect the array points. Only after reaching Spirit Grade Arrays would he need to take into account the location and such. Below that, there wasn't much change in arranging arrays.

But the problem right now was, Wang Feng needed to be capable of perfectly writing down runes, though they need other materials than ink.
