Chapter 2 - The reflection and the light at the end the tunnel

---------------------

Poseidon ventures deeper into the abyss, his steps determined, his mind focused. The darkness surrounds him, pressing in from all sides. His thoughts burn with a singular desire: escape.

With a roar, he stretches out his arms, summoning every ounce of strenght within him. His muscles strain, pushing against the oppressive nothingness that binds him. His body vibrates with the effort, but the abyss resists him at every turn. No matter how hard he tries, no matter how much power he channels, the void does not yield.

He falls to his knees, breath ragged, frustration consuming him. Nothing—no force, no will—has made the abyss waver. He can see no way out, no door, no crack in the endless expanse.

He pauses, wiping the sweat from his brow. His heart pounds in his chest, and his thoughts swirl in confusion. He looks around, but all he sees is darkness. There is no escape through power alone. His mind shifts as realization begins to sink in.

"Power alone... it cannot break this place."

"This abyss isn't just a prison for my body. It is a barrier to everything I am—everything I could be."

For a long moment, Poseidon sits in the darkness, reflecting on his failure. His breath steadies, his pulse slows. His desire to escape—no, his need for power—still burns within him. But now, he must look inward, not outward.

Closing his eyes, he enters a deep state of meditation, clearing his mind, seeking answers from within himself. His thoughts focus on the familiar energy inside him—the pulse of divinity, the source of his power. He seeks a way to access it, to understand it, to break free from the abyss.

It is then, in the quiet of his mind, that he feels it. The familiar energy, the essence of his being, is there—but it is trapped. A force stronger than his own will holds it captive, keeps it contained within him. The abyss itself, this prison of nothingness, prevents it from leaving his body. It is as if the void is consuming that part of him, keeping his essence bound within, unable to manifest and break free.

"This abyss... it doesn't just stop my body. It keeps my very soul in check. My energy is bound by it, held captive within me, unable to escape."

The realization strikes him like a thunderclap. To break free, he will need to confront the abyss itself—not with force, but with understanding and mastery over the energy inside him. Only then can he find the way out.

Time passes—uncounted and endless in the void. Poseidon remains still, his mind sinking deeper into meditation. The abyss that had once felt like an endless, oppressive darkness now shifts in his awareness. It is no longer an impenetrable mass, but something far more intricate—a complex web of currents, threads of force that pulse with energy in every direction. The very air, though unseen, seems to hum with a faint vibration, a whisper of movement that only now Netuno is able to detect.

His breathing steadies as he slips further into his thoughts, listening to the silent rhythms around him. At first, these currents were just a faint murmur—an unsettling undercurrent in the otherwise still darkness. But now, they are more than whispers. They are clear, defined, with a pattern that he begins to understand. This is not merely a void—it is alive, a flowing stream of energy that runs through everything, connecting all things in an invisible web. And this web… it holds him.

"The abyss is not just a void... it's a flow. A current that moves, pulls, and binds all things. I can feel it now, beneath the surface of everything, in every fiber of the darkness. It's everywhere."

As he sinks deeper into the essence of the abyss, Poseidon senses a growing clarity about his own nature. The energy within him is not just a force—it is the flow itself. His divinity is defined by movement, by currents and pulses that echo through time and space. He has always been attuned to it, but now, in this place, it is as if the very nature of his being has been revealed to him. He understands that his power is tied to the movement of all things: the currents of energy, the flow of time, the pulse of existence itself.

Poseidon reaches inward, allowing his focus to expand, attuning himself to the patterns of movement that define the abyss. He feels the subtle shifts in the void—the movement of energy, the unseen forces that flow around him. He can sense the ebb and flow of it all, the complex dance of forces that govern this place. It is not chaotic, but it is controlled by something far larger than him. He feels it now—the current of the abyss—and he knows that he, too, is part of it.

But with this understanding comes frustration. He can feel his own energy within, swirling and pulsing, mirroring the currents of the abyss—but it is trapped. It is contained within him, unable to escape the boundaries the abyss has placed around him. His energy, the flow of his divine nature, struggles against the confines of his body, but it cannot break free. The prison he finds himself in is not just physical. It is an immovable barrier to the very currents that define his being.

"I can feel it!!!—the current inside me. It flows throught all my being,it is what i am. I can sense it, understand it. I could bend it, shape it, control it... but not here. Not in this place. The abyss... it holds my energy in check, locks it within me."

He presses his hands against the cold, unseen surface of the abyss, but no matter how hard he tries to push, the flow within him does not move. It is as if the very nature of the abyss suppresses the current of his divinity, preventing him from unleashing his true power. He feels both the weight of his restraint and the immense potential that remains just beyond his reach.

"The abyss is more than a prison—it is a dam, holding back the current. It is not just keeping me here—it is keeping me from becoming what I truly am. I am power. I am flow. And yet... I am bound."

For a moment, a flicker of resolve ignites within him. His energy may be trapped, but it is not gone. He understands now. He is a god of current, of flow, and someday, he will find a way to break the chains the abyss has placed around him. He will master it—he will be the force that shapes the flow, not the one held captive by it.

As Poseidon continues his deep meditation, the familiar weight of the abyss pressing in around him, he senses a presence. Without opening his eyes or breaking his focus, he feels the approach of another—Hades, standing just outside his awareness.

"What are you doing, little brother?"

Poseidon answers with a voice which is calm, steady, but carries the weight of someone who has spent far too long in the same place, thinking and understanding.

"I am understanding the essence of my being and the nature of this prison. By doing so, I could force an escape."

Hades watches him closely, his dark eyes narrowing slightly as he takes in the determination radiating from Poseidon. His surprise is evident, as if the very idea of escaping had long been discarded in his mind.

"Escape? You… think you can actually break free?"

Poseidon's face remains stern, his focus unwavering as he continues his meditation. There is no doubt in his words.

"Yes. I understand now. This place may hold me, but not for long."

Hades shifts his stance, clearly intrigued, his voice tinged with something akin to curiosity.

"I gave up on that long ago, after all this time. But you…"

He trails off, his gaze lingering on Poseidon's unwavering form. Finally, he speaks again, his voice quieter, a trace of something like hope creeping in.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?"

Poseidon pauses for a moment, the faintest flicker of awareness in his eyes. He looks up briefly at Hades, his expression still unreadable.

"No. This is something I must do on my own. It's an individual struggle."

Hades remains silent for a moment, and despite himself, he feels a pull toward his conviction. He watches as the god remains focused, continuing his meditation, the energy around him palpable, as if even the abyss itself were holding its breath.

Minutes pass, and Hades remains still, observing, his curiosity growing. Then, suddenly, Poseidon's expression changes. His always stern, serious face is replaced with an expression that takes Hades by surprise—a wide grin, filled with a sense of anticipation and urgency. The god stands up quickly, his body tense and poised to move.

"It's happening. An opening is about to appear—the same one that opened to toss me into this prison. It could be our chance. We must be move!!!"

Without another word, Poseidon begins to move, his energy shifting with purpose. Hades, stunned for a moment by the sudden change, quickly gathers his thoughts. He turns on his heels and rushes to retrieve his sisters, realizing that the opportunity to escape may be closer than ever.
