As Araki carried the unconscious Unohana on his shoulder into the Eleventh Division captain's office and disappeared from the sight of the division members, chaos immediately erupted in the barracks.
"That was Captain Unohana, right?"
"Are you telling me that the unidentified object our new captain was carrying on his shoulder just now was Captain Unohana? I'm not mistaken, am I?"
"I saw it too. Damn it, am I still dreaming? This dream feels way too real!"
"Feels like I've just seen something unholy."
The Eleventh Division members were talking over one another, creating a cacophony of noise.
"What are we supposed to do?!"
When a senior officer, relatively experienced, raised the question, silence fell across the room. His question wasn't just his—it echoed what everyone else wanted to ask.
"Did none of you hear what our new captain just said? He told us to train ourselves until we can't move."
A comparatively calm officer interjected, trying to get everyone's attention.
"And what? Are we really supposed to obey some random guy's orders just because he beat Captain Unohana?"
Someone voiced their defiance, anger palpable in their tone.
"Heh," the officer chuckled. "What else can we do? As you've all seen, not only did we lose—Captain Unohana lost, too. Whether we like it or not, he is our captain now."
The room grew quieter as his words settled in.
"Besides, he doesn't seem like some random nobody. He appears to have some connection with Captain-Commander Yamamoto himself."
The officer's additional comment carried weight, deepening the silence further.
His calm yet pointed comments defused the frustration in the room. The reality was clear: they had lost. Unohana had lost.
Yamamoto had acknowledged Araki as the new captain of the Eleventh Division. There was no point in defiance now.
"Sigh..."
One by one, the division members picked up their wooden swords and begrudgingly began their training. If they couldn't fight him or argue against him, what else was there to do but follow orders?

Meanwhile, inside the captain's office:
Araki opened up his system interface.

Of greater significance, however, was his Fullbring ability, "Eternal Blossom," which had finally met the criteria for awakening.
"Awaken!"
Without hesitation, Araki activated the awakening process. His heart was filled with satisfaction—his battle with Unohana had been worth it.

Seeing the system prompt, Araki froze momentarily.
"Saitō's favorability reached the threshold too? When did that happen?"
Araki scratched his head in confusion. He couldn't recall when or how he'd managed to win over Saitō. She seemed like someone who just quietly decided to side with him without much interaction.
"Whatever. I choose Yachiru Unohana."
Araki didn't hesitate, immediately selecting Unohana. Choosing between Unohana and Saitō didn't take a second of thought—it would be disrespectful to hesitate over Unohana. (Well, unless Kuchiki Byakuya were an option, then perhaps a pause.)
"Cough, cough."

As soon as the binding was complete, Araki felt a deeper connection to Unohana. Though she was unconscious, he couldn't wait to test his Fullbring abilities on her when she woke up.

His excitement grew. He hadn't forgotten the description of "Eternal Blossom."
[Note: 'Eternal Blossom' adjusts its power based on the spiritual pressure of the first person bound. The stronger their spiritual pressure, the higher the level of its foundational ability, spiritual particle manipulation.
Spiritual particle manipulation—control over reishi and reiatsu—was the cornerstone ability of every Fullbringer.
While weaker Fullbringers struggled to wield much reishi, stronger ones, like Aura Michibane in the novel Can't Fear Your Own World, could use reishi manipulation to create techniques like vaporization or high-level kido that rivaled Aizen's.
Originally, Araki's spiritual particle manipulation was at its lowest, LV1. But with Unohana—a legendary figure with immense spiritual pressure—now bound to him, this foundational ability surged to LV10 instantly.

He smiled, contemplating his newfound abilities. His mastery over his own spiritual energy had reached extraordinary heights, making kido techniques feel effortless and eliminating the need to train in that area.
"I'll hold off upgrading Kido for now. This is more than enough."
Araki mused, already considering how to experiment with his new powers. Unfortunately, Unohana was still unconscious, so she couldn't help him test things right away.
"If only I had a suitable test subject... Someone just ripe for experimentation."
Just as he pondered this, a commotion erupted outside his office.
"Move aside! I have something to say to Araki—that so-called new captain of yours!"
Araki's ears perked up at the voice outside the door.
"That voice… Could it be?"
Recognizing the voice, he grinned ear to ear.
"Well, speak of the devil! My experimental guinea pig has come knocking on my door."
He glanced at the name still available for binding on his system interface—Saitō Furofushi. The corners of his mouth curled up mischievously.
Time to test "Eternal Blossom."
