Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: What Happened to the Promised Slice-of-Life?

On a late summer afternoon, the scorching sun still retained some of its lingering heat.

In the courtyard of Meize Private Academy, leaves swayed gently in the breeze, producing a soft rustling sound. Occasionally, the sharp cries of cicadas pierced the tranquility—brief and intense, as if expending all their strength in one final call.

Lin Moze sat in the classroom, listening to the teacher explain mathematical formulas. His eyelids grew heavier with each passing second.

For him, the lesson wasn't new or challenging. After all, as a transmigrator with memories of his past life—and a naturally gifted mind in this one—it wasn't difficult to excel academically.

In truth, even without these advantages, Lin Moze had no intention of focusing solely on his studies.

It had been about a year since he regained his past-life memories, and during that time, he had developed a deeper understanding of this world.

This world shared similarities with Earth, including its history, technological advancements, and social structures. Yet, its pop culture—especially in terms of modern films, anime, and games—seemed oddly underdeveloped compared to his previous life.

Initially, Lin Moze believed he had crossed into a parallel world that resembled Earth.

But after finding references online to familiar schools like Shuchiin Academy, Fumizaki High, and Sobu High, he realized he was in a world that blended multiple anime universes.

Even more surprising was his discovery that he possessed an extraordinary memory and concentration—abilities often reserved for novel protagonists.

With this skillset, he could vividly recall every detail of the anime and manga he had consumed in his previous life. At times, he could even experience a bullet-time-like focus during moments of heightened concentration.

After confirming his abilities, Lin Moze quickly devised a plan—become a "plagiarist" author.

He would start by writing light novels, then transition to manga after honing his art skills. It was a two-pronged strategy for success.

Though he wasn't an avid anime fan in his past life—only keeping up with blockbuster hits—he wasn't greedy. He only needed one of his "borrowed" works to succeed!

In fact, he already had drafts for three projects prepared for submission.

That was the real reason for his drowsiness—pulling late nights to refine his manuscripts had taken a toll.

"Hey, Lin! Did you hear? Our school's exchange event with Saitama Prefectural High School brought in a bunch of their students today."

Lin Moze's deskmate suddenly whispered to him, interrupting his half-asleep state.

"Oh, an exchange program? So what?" Lin Moze replied lazily.

"There are cute girls! I heard a few of them are really pretty!"

"Pretty or not, they're just here for a short visit. It's not like anyone's going to start dating during an exchange program."

Still groggy, Lin Moze brushed off the topic. Saitama Prefectural High School didn't ring any bells in his past-life memories.

Maybe it had connections to some anime characters, but it didn't matter to him right now.

If he wanted to meet beautiful girls, he could wait until his works gained fame and fortune. There was no need to rush.

Disappointed by Lin Moze's indifference, his deskmate dropped the topic and refocused on the lecture.

But before their brief conversation could fade into silence, a sudden, thunderous explosion shook the air outside the classroom.

The deafening noise startled everyone. Some students let out cries of panic, and the room erupted into hushed whispers of speculation.

The teacher tried to calm the class but froze mid-sentence, eyes glued to the window.

Outside, the once-clear sky had turned dark. Blood-red clouds gathered overhead, unfurling like an ominous curtain.

The sun was gone, swallowed by darkness. An eerie, oppressive atmosphere seeped into the classroom.

Lin Moze's heart pounded as he noticed distant buildings appearing distorted, as though reality itself was warping.

The warm summer breeze now carried a chilling undercurrent that made his skin crawl.

The cicadas had gone silent.

The students, who moments earlier had been whispering, now sat in stunned silence, staring at the surreal scene outside.

It wasn't just the classroom. The entire world seemed to have entered a state of unnatural stillness, filled with an inexplicable sense of dread.

Then, as quickly as it had come, the red sky began to fade. Within seconds, the vibrant blue returned, as though nothing had happened.

Chaos erupted in the classroom once again, with students shouting over one another.

Only Lin Moze sat frozen, unable to speak.

A strange voice echoed in his mind:

[We initiated this disaster, but we are now fractured and powerless to stop it…]

[A dimensional invasion is about to begin. Creatures, both familiar and unfamiliar to you, will descend upon your world, seeking to destroy its order.]

[We are deeply sorry, but this is the only aid we can offer.]

[You have been chosen.]

[Take our gift and save your world.]

[From this moment, you are one of the saviors.]

Lin Moze's mind reeled. Thousands of curses threatened to spill from his lips.

What happened to the slice-of-life world?

Why was this suddenly turning into an apocalypse?!

Before he could fully process what was happening, another wave of information surged into his mind:

[Savior Qualification Confirmed!]

[Initializing Savior Interface... Complete!]

[Connecting to Resource Database... Complete!]

[Scanning Savior Information... Error Detected.]

[Adjusting for Compatibility... Complete. Savior System Initialized!]

As the final message appeared, a translucent interface materialized before Lin Moze's eyes.
