Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

All Might stormed into a facility, the air thick with tension and the unmistakable scent of fear. Reports of a group of rogue scientists conducting sinister experiments on children had reached his ears, and he wasn't about to let innocent lives be destroyed. "Hurry and find the children! No room is left unchecked!" he bellowed, his voice resonating through the cold, metallic halls. Energy weapons whizzed past him as he dodged them with agility that belied his colossal frame.

"Never seen those before," he thought, his mind racing. With a swift, powerful punch, he sent a gust of wind that knocked the guards off their feet, allowing him to press onward. He dashed down the corridor, determination fuelling his every stride. Suddenly, he found himself in front of a heavily reinforced metal door.

Without hesitation, he unleashed a barrage of punches, each strike sending vibrations through the structure until it crumbled before him. Inside, the gloom of the room revealed a sight that sent chills down his spine—a small, pale boy clad in rags, his frail body devoid of muscle or fat. The boy was a living skeleton, clearly starved and neglected. "He's still alive, good," All Might whispered, checking the boy's pulse before cradling him in his arms.

As he sprinted back down the hall, more guards emerged, firing their energy weapons at him. One shot found its mark, and All Might winced at the impact. "Shit. I actually felt that," he thought, forcing himself to push through the pain. "Stop him! Don't let him take Number 678!" shouted a scientist, panic flooding his voice as the guards rallied to pursue All Might.

With a mighty leap, All Might broke through the ceiling, launching himself onto the roof. But as he landed, he was met with an overwhelming sight—ships hovering above and armed men lining the perimeter, energy weapons poised to strike. "Damn," All Might thought but maintained his signature smile as he gently set the boy down. The sunlight poured over the child, and miraculously, the boy's skin began to regain its color while his muscles started to fill out.

To All Might's astonishment, the boy opened his eyes and slowly stood up, confusion etched across his features. "Shoot him!" one of the guards yelled, firing without hesitation. But the projectile seemed to dissolve against an invisible barrier surrounding the boy. Then, as though awakening to a newfound power, the boy soared into the air, flying directly into one of the ships and obliterating it on impact.

He displayed incredible strength, hurling guards into the air and causing chaos with sheer speed. As he floated back down in front of All Might, panting heavily, he muttered, "Who…" before collapsing into All Might's arms. Hours passed, and the boy awoke in a soft bed, disoriented. Panic surged through him as he spotted a blonde-haired girl staring curiously at him. "Who are you?!" he exclaimed, leaping to a fighting stance despite his weakened condition.

"Whoa, just calm down! I'm not gonna hurt you," she said softly, her voice gentle as she approached him slowly. "Are you okay?" "I was held captive for 11 years. I'm surprised I'm still alive," he replied, gripping his head as waves of weakness washed over him. "Hey, can you take me outside? I wanna see something," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "See what?" she asked, intrigued.

"The sun felt good last time. I wanna feel that again and see the sun for real," he insisted, his eyes pleading. With a nod, the girl helped him outside, leading him to the rooftop. As the sunlight bathed him in warmth, the boy closed his eyes, soaking in the rays. He could feel his strength returning, a warm energy enveloping him.

"So this is what outside looks like," he murmured, glancing down at his body as cuts and bruises healed before his eyes. "I can float," he gasped, astonished by his ability. "Wow, you really like the sun! So you have a flying quirk—that's cool!" the girl exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "A quirk?" he asked, confused yet intrigued by this new word.

"There you two are. It's good to see you awake," said a skeletal figure, his voice both warm and commanding. It was All Might. The boy squinted in confusion, squirming on the floor. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly. "This is my dad, Toshinori, or known to everyone as All Might," the girl chimed in excitedly. All Might sighed, his eyes showing a hint of amusement.

"Amara, I told you to just watch him. And don't go telling my name to everyone." "Oops, sorry!" Amara replied, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly. All Might chuckled, "Sorry, I guess you won't recognize me in this form." In a flash, he transformed into his muscular, heroic self, radiating power and charisma. "Are you some magician? Like the ones in the stories?" the boy asked, wide-eyed.

"No. I'm what you call a hero. This is the result of my quirk," All Might explained, his smile unwavering. "She said that too. What is a quirk?" the boy urged, curiosity sparkling in his eyes. "You might wanna be on the ground. It's a long story," All Might said, gesturing as he floated down, his excitement growing.

After a few moments of explanation about quirks and hero society, the boy's face lit up. "So, like everyone else, I have superpowers? It's like a comic book! That's so cool. So what now? Are you gonna put me back into another hole?" "No, you're going to come live with us and become a hero. First, we gotta give you a name," Amara declared, her enthusiasm bubbling over. The boy looked at All Might, a hint of concern on his face.

"Yeah, sorry. She can get a little excited," All Might replied, a sweet drop of sweat forming on his brow. "I got it! Your name will be Kai. It means ocean," Amara announced, beaming with pride. "Hmmmm... Kai? Okay, I'm Kai," he said, relishing the feel of his new name. Fast forward a year, and Kai was now twelve, entrenched in the rigorous training with All Might and Amara.

The sun shone brightly as they gathered in an open field, ready for a new challenge. "Okay Kai, let's start, but make sure…" All Might began, only to be interrupted. "I know! Hold back my punches," Kai blurted, eager and filled with energy. "And Amara," All Might reminded, directing his attention toward his daughter.

"Yeah, yeah, Dad! Don't overuse my quirk. I got it. Now let's do this!" Amara said, her body enveloped in a vibrant red aura, signaling her readiness. With a nod, they charged at All Might. Kai soared into the air while Amara unleashed a flurry of punches, each blocked deftly by their mentor. Then, with a determined shout, Kai dove down, aiming a powerful punch at All Might. The hero leaped away just in time, leaving Kai to crash into the ground, causing the earth to crack beneath him.

Suddenly, All Might's phone buzzed, interrupting the training. "Wait, hold on," he said, leaping away to take the call. Kai sighed, frustration evident. "Looks like training is over. What a drag." "Not with my dad, but we can still train!" Amara exclaimed, bouncing on her feet, her excitement infectious. Both Kai and Amara shared a smile.

Two years had passed a messy green was walking to U.A school gates lost in thought about the practical exam that awaited him. Suddenly, he felt a tug on his back just as he was about to trip and faceplant onto the pavement. "You should really watch where you're going, Izuku," Kai chuckled, his bright smile contrasting with Izuku's anxious expression.

"Yeah, and great way to start your first day!" Amara chimed in teasingly as she brushed past them, her confident stride making it clear she was ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead. "Come on, we don't want to be late," Kai urged, nudging Izuku forward as they made their way towards the auditorium for the hero course exam orientation.

As they entered the large room filled with fellow candidates, the energy was palpable. Present Mic, the school's vibrant DJ and celebrity hero, stood at the front with his signature outlandish outfit. "What's up, U.A. hero candidates? Thanks for tuning in to me, your school DJ! C'mon! And lemme hear ya!" he boomed, and the crowd erupted in excitement. Izuku watched in awe, whispering to himself, "So that's Present Mic. All Might was right about him." A chuckle escaped him.

"Keeping it mellow, huh? That's fine; I'll skip straight to the main show. Let's talk about how this practical exam is gonna go down, okay? Are you ready to rock?!" Present Mic yelled, his excitement electrifying the room. A hush fell over the crowd, and Izuku couldn't help but admire the hero's charisma. "Present Mic is so cool," he murmured, glancing at Kai.

"Really? Never mind knowing you; of course, he's cool," Kai shot back, rolling his eyes playfully. "Like your application said, today you rocking boys and girls will be out there conducting ten-minute mock battles in super hip urban settings!" Present Mic continued as the screen behind him flickered to life with visuals of various battle scenarios.

"After I drop the mic here, you will head to your specified battle center. Sound good?" Kai frowned slightly. "So they're splitting us up so we can't work with friends. But this guy is obnoxious," he thought, staring at his exam ticket, which read: Examinee No: 2236. Test Location: Battle Center B. "Hey, Kai, which one are you in?" Amara whispered from behind him. "I'm in B. You?" he replied. "A," she responded, her brows furrowing slightly.

"Okay, let's check out your targets. There are three types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based on their level of difficulty, so better choose wisely. Your goal in this trial is to use your quirk to raise your score by shredding these faux villains. But check it: make sure you're keeping things heroic.

Attacking other examinees is a U.A. no-no," Present Mic explained, his energy infectious. "Excuse me, sir, but I have a question," a boy called out, his voice dripping with seriousness. "On the printout, you listed four types of villains, not three. With all respect, if this is an error on official U.A. materials, it is shameful. A mistake such as this won't do. And you three have been talking nonstop.

If you can't bother to take this seriously, then you should leave." "What's that guy's problem?" Amara muttered, rolling her eyes. "Okay, okay. Examinee number 7111, thanks for calling in with your request. The fourth villain type is worth zero points. He's just an obstacle that we'll be throwing in your way. You should try to avoid this one," Present Mic clarified, and the tension in the room eased slightly. "Knowing Kai, he's probably gonna go after one," Amara thought with a sigh, shaking her head at the inevitable chaos that would follow. "Okay, that's all I got. Good luck to everyone!" Present Mic concluded.

The colossal gates of U.A. High's Battle Center B loomed before Izuku Midoriya and Kai. The air thrummed with nervous energy; the scent of sweat and anticipation hung heavy. Kai, a whirlwind of controlled power, grinned, his usual playful demeanor tempered by a quiet intensity. "You got this, Izuku," he said, a fist bump connecting their hands, the impact a silent transfer of confidence. Izuku, his heart hammering a frantic rhythm against his ribs, swallowed hard. Ten months of grueling training with Kai, their fiery friend Amara, and the legendary All Might had culminated in this moment. He clenched his fists.

"Okay, Kai," he thought, a steely resolve hardening his gaze. "Time to prove those ten months weren't wasted. I'm going to become a hero." Kai, meanwhile, took a deep breath, a flicker of worry crossing his usually carefree face. "Just pull your punches, kid," he silently vowed. "And be careful." Present Mic's booming voice shattered the tense silence. "Right, let's START! Get moving! There are no countdowns in real battles! GO!!!" The entrance exam erupted into chaos.

Kai, a blur of motion, soared through the air, his powerful quirk allowing him to effortlessly dispatch the one-point and two-point robots. He effortlessly lifted a stack of four one-point robots high above his head before letting them plummet to their destruction. "I'll save some for the others," he muttered, his eyes scanning the battlefield.

Then, he saw it – a towering zero-pointer robot, wreaking havoc, causing buildings to crumble. "So, that's the zero-pointer," Kai mused, a predatory gleam in his eyes. But his attention snapped to Izuku, who was facing the behemoth directly, his determined stance a stark contrast to the sheer scale of his opponent. The zero-pointer lunged, its fist a destructive projectile. Kai reacted instantly, intercepting the blow, the force of the impact sending him crashing into a nearby building.

"Kai!" Izuku's cry pierced the din. Present Mic's voice cut through the pandemonium, "Less than two minutes remaining!" Panic threatened to overwhelm Izuku. The months of training, the sacrifices, the unwavering support of his friends—it would all be for nothing if he failed. But then, a cry for help broke through his fear.

A brown-haired girl was trapped beneath the rubble. Kai's voice echoed in Izuku's mind, a comforting whisper. "You got this, Izuku." Izuku surged forward, adrenaline surging through his veins. Kai, meanwhile, emerged from the wreckage then he streaked towards the zero-pointer at impossible speed, arriving just as Izuku launched himself into the air, a desperate, powerful punch aimed at the robot's core.

"Yeah, that's right, Izuku!" Kai roared. "Remember to yell, 'SMASH!'" Izuku's punch connected, but the zero-pointer didn't fall. Kai's own assault followed, a devastating blow that shattered the robot's head. Silence descended upon the battleground, broken only by gasps of awe. Izuku, exhilarated but exhausted, found himself falling, a searing pain erupting in his broken limbs. He closed his eyes, bracing for impact, only to feel himself gently cradled. He opened his eyes to see Kai, a reassuring smile on his face.

"Looks like you activated your quirk," Kai chuckled. "So, this is the backlash...ouch." He floated down, carefully setting Izuku on the ground before helping the brown-haired girl from the rubble. "Are you okay?" he asked, his concern genuine. "Times up!" Present Mic bellowed. Izuku passed out. "Don't worry, Izuku," Kai murmured, picking up his unconscious friend. "I'm pretty sure you passed." Later, at the recovery center, Recovery Girl, surprisingly present, showered the students with candy. "Hey, Granny," Kai said, "I didn't know you worked at U.A." Recovery Girl chuckled.

"That's because you never bother to listen." She walked closer to Kai, who was still holding Izuku, then kissed him. Izuku's broken bones began to mend at an astonishing rate. One week had passed since the grueling exams, and the atmosphere in the Midoriya household was thick with uncertainty. Izuku sat at the kitchen table, his gaze fixed on his untouched food, lost in thought.

"Izuku, snap out of it," Inko urged, her concern palpable. Just then, a knock on the door interrupted the silence. "Oh hey, Kai and Amara!" Inko exclaimed, welcoming the two friends into their home. "Hi, Mrs. Midoriya!" they chimed in unison, but their cheerful tones faded as they noticed Izuku's blank expression.

Kai snapped his fingers in front of Izuku's face, but he remained unresponsive, staring into his plate as if it held all the answers to his worries. "So, it's this bad, huh?" Kai said, trying to lighten the mood with a grin. Izuku finally looked up, his green eyes filled with a mixture of confusion and despair. "Kai!? Amara!? What are you two doing here?" "Just checking up on you," Amara replied gently, her heart aching for her friend.

"I barely passed the written exam, and I didn't even get a single point in the mock battle," Izuku confessed, his voice heavy with disappointment. "Trust me, Izuku, it's gonna be okay," Amara reassured him. "That's easy for you to say, Amara. I heard you got tons of points," he replied, feeling the weight of failure pressing down on him.

Suddenly, Inko's voice rang out from the other room, breaking through the heaviness. "Izuku! A letter!" She waved an envelope excitedly. The trio quickly gathered around as Inko handed the letter to Izuku. "Well, open it," Kai urged, but Izuku hesitated, anxiety coursing through him. Finally, he tore open the envelope, and a small device slipped out, projecting a hologram of All Might.

"Sorry it's been a while, but I had tons of paperwork," All Might said, his cheerful demeanor shining even through the digital screen. He coughed lightly, then continued, "My apologies, young man. The truth is, I didn't come to the city just to fight villains. You are looking at the newest U.A. facility member." "Aha! So this is what the old man was hiding from us," Kai whispered under his breath, barely containing his excitement.

"Even though you passed the written test, you got zero combat points in the practical exam. Sorry," All Might said, his tone sincere. "Fortunately, there were other factors. You have a quirk now, yes, but it's your actions that inspire others." As if on cue, the screen displayed a clip of a brown-haired girl, one of Izuku's classmates, stating her intention to give some of her points to him. "And that's why I am here," All Might continued.

"The practical exam was not graded on combat alone. There was also a rescue point system. A panel of judges watched and awarded points for heroic acts beyond just fighting villains. Izuku Midoriya, you earned 60 rescue points. You pass the exam. Welcome, Izuku; you made me proud." The room was silent for a moment, processing the revelation. Amara chuckled softly, breaking the tension. "That old man really likes to showboat." Izuku's eyes widened in disbelief and joy.

"Wait! What rank are you both?" he asked, suddenly energized. "I'm number one," Kai declared proudly. "I'm number two," Amara added with a grin. Izuku's heart swelled with happiness for his friends, but there was still a flicker of determination in his eyes. "Then I'll work harder! I want to be right there with you both!"

The next day as Kai strode through the bustling halls of U.A. High School, excitement bubbling within him. As he approached Classroom 1A, he spotted his friend Izuku standing in front of the large door, looking both eager and anxious. "Hey..." Kai called out, but suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his eyes, and his vision flickered to a bright red for a moment. He staggered, momentarily disoriented, but then it passed.

"Kai, you okay?" Amara asked, rushing to his side. "Yeah. I think I had something in my eyes. It's gone now," he replied, brushing it off. As they opened the door, a commotion erupted inside. "Take your feet off of that desk now! It's the first day, and you're already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin!" a glasses-wearing boy exclaimed, his voice dripping with authority. "You're kidding me, right? Did your old school put a stick up your ass?" Bakugo shot back, ignoring the glasses boy, whose name was soon revealed to be Tenya Iida.

"Great, it's glasses and Bakugo," Amara whispered, rolling her eyes. As the tension mounted, Iida turned his attention to the trio standing in the doorway. "Good morning. My name is Tenya Iida," he introduced himself formally. "I'm Izuku Midoriya," Izuku chimed in. "Kai Yagi," Kai added with a nod. "Amara Yagi," Amara concluded, giving a small smile. Iida, flustered, quickly apologized, "I just want to apologize to you three. I completely misjudged you. I admit you are all far superior to me."

"This guy is way too serious," Kai thought, sweat dropping from his forehead as he tried to maintain a nervous smile. Just then, a girl with brown hair piped up from behind them. "Hey, I know you! The flying boy!" Kai turned to her, recalling her gravity powers. "You're that girl with the gravity powers, right? Feeling better?" he asked. "Yeah, thanks to both of you! Both of your attacks were so cool. I'm Ochaco Uraraka!" she beamed. Before Kai could respond, a figure emerged from a sleeping bag at the front of the classroom, startling everyone.

"Welcome to U.A. Hero Course," the man said, his voice gravelly and authoritative. "Come on, Kai, let's go find a seat," Amara whispered, dragging him to the back as the man added, "It took eight seconds before you all shut up. That's not gonna work; time is precious. Rational students would understand that." Kai looked at Amara, confusion etched on his face.

"I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher. Okay, let's get started. Put these on and head outside." He held up uniforms—navy blue tops emblazoned with white 'U' patterns, designed for durability and flexibility. The class buzzed with a mix of excitement and apprehension as they suited up. Outside, the atmosphere shifted. "What? A quirk assignment test?" the class gasped in disbelief.

"But orientation—we're gonna miss it!" Ochaco protested. Aizawa replied stoically, "If you really want to make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at this school, we're not tethered to traditions. That means I get to run my class however I see fit. Today you'll be using your quirk on things you never got to use them before." He turned to Kai.

"You managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest throw with a softball during junior high?" "Don't know; I always stayed away from sports due to not being in control of my powers," Kai admitted, a hint of uncertainty in his voice. "Then this'll be your first time," Aizawa said, gesturing for him to step inside a marked circle. "Anything goes, just stay in the circle, and throw it as hard as you can." Kai took a deep breath, grounding himself as he planted his feet firmly.

"As hard as I can, huh?" he thought. With determination, he threw the ball with all his might, shattering the sound barrier as it flew through the air. The class erupted in surprise as Aizawa displayed Kai's score: infinity. "Whoa! You threw it that far!" students exclaimed, their eyes wide with disbelief. A blonde boy with a lightning bolt-shaped patch in his hair exclaimed, "Can't believe he got infinity— that's crazy!"

"This is gonna be fun!" one student declared, their voice a mixture of hope and youthful enthusiasm. But the laughter and chatter quickly fell silent as the stern figure of Aizawa, their enigmatic teacher, loomed before them. "So this is gonna be fun, huh?" he replied, his voice laced with a hint of sarcasm. "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and playtime? Morons." The atmosphere shifted dramatically as the reality of his words sank in. "Today you'll compete in eight physical tests. Who comes in last place will be expelled." Gasps echoed through the room, a wave of anxiety sweeping over the students.

In the vibrant halls of U.A. High School, excitement buzzed in the air as the students prepared for their first day of rigorous testing. The esteemed hero instructor, Aizawa, stood before the class, his piercing gaze sweeping over the eager faces. "You can't just send one of you home. Even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair," Ochaco declared, her voice filled with determination. Aizawa's expression remained stoic, but he nodded, acknowledging the weight of her words.

"The world is full of unfairness," he replied, his voice low and steady. "Natural disasters, power-hungry villains, catastrophic accidents—these are realities we face as heroes. If you want to be a pro, you have to push yourselves to the brink. Over the next three days, this school will throw one terrible hardship after another at you. It's time to go beyond Plus Ultra, and it's no mistake that you're here." With Aizawa's words ringing in their ears, Kai, a spirited student with an unyielding drive, clenched his fist into his palm.

"Okay, everyone, you heard him! It's time to show them our potential!" he exclaimed, rallying his classmates into a frenzy of motivation. As the first test commenced—a 50-meter dash—Kai found himself racing against Iida. Both took their positions, hearts pounding with adrenaline. At the sound of the starting gun, they exploded off the line, but Kai's speed prevailed, and he crossed the finish in a blistering 1.80 seconds. "I held back this time. Looks like it managed to read me," he chuckled, a gleam of confidence in his eyes.

Next up was Amara, ready to face off against Ochaco. With her body enveloped in a vibrant red aura, she surged forward at lightning speed as the gun fired. The computer beeped. "2.69 seconds!" it announced. Amara grinned, determination burning in her chest. "Damn, just you wait, Kai. I'll surpass you," she vowed silently, her eyes glancing toward Izuku, who looked visibly panicked. "You got this, Izuku. Master my father's power because I want to fight you at your best," she encouraged in her thoughts as she prepared for the next round.

The tests continued. Grip strength was next, and Kai focused intently, his mind repeating, "Okay, don't break it, don't break it." He gripped the machine, achieving an impressive 859 kg. "Yes! I managed to hold back my strength," he thought proudly. Amara followed suit, securing 736 kg, her expression a blend of surprise and frustration.

The standing long jump came next, with both Kai and Amara clearing impressive distances without hesitation. As the side-step test began, Kai launched into a flurry of movements, leaving afterimages in his wake. Amara matched his speed, her determination fueling her every leap. Then came the ball throw, and Amara took stance, launching the ball a staggering 706.0 meters.

The boys were in awe, one exclaiming, "Whoa, she's really strong!" Even Bakugo, competitive as ever, couldn't help but think, "Damn, outclassed by a girl." But the pressure began to mount, particularly for Izuku. As he prepared for his next attempt at the distance run, anxiety gnawed at him. "I have to use One For All," he thought desperately, glancing around at his classmates, all of whom had already impressed with their scores.

Just as he was about to throw, Aizawa's voice cut through the air. "I erased your quirk. The judges for this exam were not rational enough. Someone like you should never be allowed to enroll at this school." Izuku's heart sank. "No! That's not what I was trying to do!" he protested, but Aizawa merely shook his head, wrapping him in a tight hold. "You would be a liability in battle. You can't become a hero." As Aizawa released him, Izuku's mind raced.

"I gotta try something!" he yelled, focusing all his energy into his fingertip. "Smash!" he shouted, throwing the ball with all his might and watching it soar high into the sky. "705.3 meters!" the machine chimed, and an eruption of cheers erupted from his classmates. "Yeah! That's right, Izuku! Show everyone what you can do!" Kai shouted, his pride for his friend palpable. "Kai, please don't. You're loud," Amara teased, but a smile painted her face.

"No, that's impossible! He's supposed to be quirkless," Bakugo thought, disbelief etched on his face as he activated his explosive quirk, charging towards Izuku. "You got some explaining to do, Deku!" he yelled, but was abruptly stopped as Aizawa wrapped him up with his capture scarf. "I guess you're gonna be the hot head in class. So annoying," Aizawa muttered, letting Bakugo go.

"Hey, Izuku, is your finger okay? That was so cool! I knew you could figure it out." As the day unfolded, the class faced a series of physical tests. First came the sit-up challenge, with Kai and Amara rapidly competing, each pushing their limits until Kai emerged victorious.

But the seated toe-touch test saw Amara edge him out, showcasing her impressive flexibility. The long-distance run proved to be a nail-biting showdown, with both Kai and Amara sprinting neck and neck, demonstrating their prowess as the fastest in class. "Finally, that's over," Izuku huffed as he collapsed on the ground, exhausted.

"You held in there," Kai said, offering a hand to help his friend back up. Aizawa gathered everyone for their results, pulling up a list. "Alright, time to give you your rankings. You should have a good idea of your standings already." Anxiety coursed through Kai. "Shit. Izuku is gonna get expelled; I have to do something," he whispered under his breath.

"He's not gonna get expelled, Kai. Just watch," Amara replied, her confidence baffling him. The list came into view: Kai was first, Amara second, and Izuku last. "I failed," Izuku thought, despair creeping in. "I was lying; no one's gonna get expelled," Aizawa added, leaving the room in a state of confusion. "Huh?" echoed Kai and Izuku in unison.

"I'm surprised the rest of you didn't realize this," Momo chimed in. "Wait, you knew too, Amara?" Kai asked, surprised. "Yeah, I'm not simple-minded like you," she retorted, a smirk on her face. As the day wrapped up, Kai, Izuku, and Amara walked out of school together, relieved. "Hey! Wait up, you three! Let me join you!" called out Ochaco, enthusiasm in her voice.

"Sure, the more, the merrier!" Kai replied, with Iida joining in as well. The next day, Kai sat in class, boredom washing over him. "What's the point of a grammar class?" he mused. Then came the moment they'd all been waiting for. All Might burst through the door, exuding heroism. "Welcome to the most important class at U.A. High! Think of it as Hero 101. Today's lesson will pull no punches!" Excitement surged through Kai.

"Finally, some combat!" he exclaimed, but All Might's next words sent a chill down his spine. "But one of the keys to being a hero is… looking good! These were designed for you." Briefcases emerged from the walls, and Kai's heart sank. After some time, the students walked outside in their new costumes.

"They say that clothes make the pro, young ladies and gentlemen, and behold, you are the proof!" All Might announced. Kai stared at his costume—tight blue with an S emblazoned across his chest, showing off his defined muscles, paired with a red cape and black pants. "I told y'all not to put on the cape, and this is way too tight!" he protested.

"Well, Dad found it for you. Plus, it's tight for wind resistance," Amara shot back, rolling her eyes at him. "Now that you're ready, it's time for combat training," All Might instructed. "The villains have hidden a nuclear missile somewhere in their hideout. The heroes must try to foil their plans. Time is limited, and we'll choose teams by drawing lots!" The tension in the air thickened.

"You better not hold back if we go against each other, Kai," Amara warned, a competitive glint in her eyes. As fate would have it, Team A consisted of Kai and Izuku, while Team D was Bakugo and Amara. "Alright, let's do this, Izuku!" Kai exclaimed as they fist-bumped, determination coursing through them. "The first team that will fight will be…" All Might declared, pulling out two balls. Team A vs Team D.

Bakugo and Amara strode confidently into the building, their eyes set on the competition. "Okay Izuku, you take Bakugo, and I'll handle Amara," Kai instructed, his voice steady. "I have a feeling he'll be coming after you." Izuku nodded, a mix of determination and anxiety swirling in his stomach.

As they entered the arena, the air crackled with tension. Suddenly, Bakugo lunged at Izuku, his explosive quirk ready to unleash chaos. "So you really came after me," Izuku said, his heart racing. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you so bad that they'll send you to the hospital, Deku!" Bakugo yelled, his fiery spirit igniting the battle. With quick reflexes, Izuku dodged Bakugo's attack, grabbing his arm and flipping him with precision.

The spectators gasped, adrenaline flooding the room as they witnessed the clash of their quirks. Meanwhile, in the spectator's room, All Might watched intently, a worried expression etched on his face. "Those two I'm not worried about , It's Kai and Amara I'm concerned about. Please, both of you, show some restraint." As the fight intensified, Kai made a decisive move. "I'm going after Amara!" he declared, determination fueling his actions. With a burst of speed, he flew up the stairs.

The tension in the air was palpable as Amara stood poised, her eyes locked onto Kai's hovering figure. "So you really came. And you remember what I said, right?" she called out, determination fueling her every word. Kai, surrounded by a swirling red aura, smirked. "Time to see how strong you got over the years, Amara." The scene shifted to the spectator room, where Iida furrowed his brow.

"Why isn't Kai going for the bomb?" he questioned. Momo, watching intently, replied, "Looks like they're focused on only fighting each other, forgetting about the test." Back in the building, both combatants vanished in a blur, their fists colliding with such force that a shockwave rippled through the ground, cracking it beneath their feet.

Kai attempted a spinning kick, but Amara ducked low, countering with a powerful punch that sent him crashing into a wall. Undeterred, Kai floated into the air and charged at Amara, propelling her through a wall with a fierce push. As debris rained down, Amara skillfully dodged, gathering shards to hurl at Kai. Undaunted, he punched them apart, only to realize Amara had vanished again.

"Huh?" he murmured, just as he felt a grip tightening around the back of his head. In a whirlwind of motion, Amara slammed him into the ground repeatedly, showcasing her quick reflexes. Kai, refusing to be outdone, lifted himself and seized her, spinning her around before launching her through the ceiling. But Amara was agile; she wrapped herself around his neck, securing his arm as they floated back to the ground.

In the spectators' room, All Might watched proudly, noting Amara's strategic brilliance. "Oh, I see. Amara couldn't beat Kai in sheer strength, so she's using her speed and martial arts to find an opening. Looks like she really planned this out," he thought, admiration swelling in his chest.

"I got you now, Kai. Give up! You know I won't let go," Amara taunted, but Kai was relentless. With a surge of determination, he began to float, crashing through the ground until Amara finally released her grip. "Can't believe you got this good, but Izuku and Bakugo's fight is over. So I'll end this," Kai declared, soaring upwards and touching the bomb, sealing his victory.

"What's that? Team A is the winner!" All Might announced, his voice echoing throughout the arena. "Whoa, that was a match!" a red-haired boy in the spectator room exclaimed, eyes wide with excitement. As Kai walked out, he glanced over to see Izuku being transported on a stretcher.

"Next time, Kai. I'll win," Amara declared, resolve dancing in her eyes. Kai gave her a thumbs-up, a grin spreading across his face, knowing this rivalry was far from over. After the rest of the matches concluded, All Might addressed the crowd. "That's a wrap! Super work, everyone. We didn't have any major injuries except for Midoriya. Be proud of your first day." Lai, noticing All Might's exhaustion, suggested,

"I think you should get out of here, All Might." Recognizing his limits, All Might sprinted away. As the chaos of the day settled, Kai felt his stomach rumble. "I gotta get something to eat," he muttered, heading towards the cafeteria. Later, Midoriya emerged from the recovery room, looking a bit weary but determined. "So you're finally okay, Izuku," Kai said, walking inside.

The next day, Kai and Amara were swarmed by reporters outside the U.A. gate, their faces flashing with excitement as cameras clicked and microphones were thrust in their direction. "Tell me what All Might's like?" one eager journalist shouted, eyes wide with anticipation. Sensing the growing chaos, Kai quickly scooped Amara up into his arms, their surroundings blurring as he took off into the sky, leaving the reporters behind.

"Well, that's gonna get annoying," Amara remarked, her voice slightly breathless from the sudden flight. Kai nodded in agreement, relief washing over him as they landed safely at the school. As they settled into their classroom, Aizawa stood at the front, arms crossed and a serious expression on his face.

"Decent work on yesterday's combat training, you guys. I went over each team's results from the video feeds. Kai, you're strong, but you're way too confident in your abilities, which is why you almost lost." "You got it," Kai replied, determination flashing in his eyes. "See? Almost lost! I could have had you there," Amara chimed in, a teasing smirk on her face as she rubbed salt in the wound.

"Let's get down to business. Our first task will decide your future," Aizawa said, cutting through their banter. "Is it another quirk test?" the class murmured in unison, apprehension hanging in the air. "No, you're all gonna pick a class representative," Aizawa stated matter-of-factly.

"That's it?" Kai said, a hint of disappointment creeping into his voice. "It should be Iida! He's more focused on school rules than anything," Amara suggested, and the class quickly agreed, nodding in unison. Time passed, filled with discussions and laughter, until Aizawa returned, his voice commanding attention once more. "Today's training will be different. You'll have three instructors: me, All Might, and another faculty member who will keep tabs on you."

"What training are we doing this time?" Kai asked, his curiosity piqued. "Rescue. You'll be dealing with natural disasters. What you wear in this exercise is up to you. I know you're excited about costumes," Aizawa said as he walked out, leaving the students buzzing with excitement. The class gathered outside, forming a disorganized line as Iida barked instructions. "Gather around, class! Form a straight line when entering the bus!" he shouted, his enthusiasm infectious.

"Guess being the class rep suits him," Ochaco said, nudging Kai with a grin. "Yeah," Kai agreed, stepping onto the bus, where he spotted Momo. "Hey, Momo, you can create anything with your quirk, right?" he asked, his eyes gleaming with an idea. "Yeah, pretty much," Momo replied, intrigued. "Can you create this?" Kai whispered in her ear, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "You can take your time with it."

"Okay, I'll try to have it ready for tomorrow," Momo said, a smile brightening her features as she felt a spark of excitement as well. "Cool, thanks!" Kai responded, his smile wide and genuine. Yet, as he turned away, he noticed Amara staring at them, her expression a mix of frustration and contemplation.

In the USJ building, a hub of training for aspiring heroes, as the students gathered in anticipation. "Hello everyone," announced Space Hero Thirteen, a figure wrapped in an aura of confidence and authority. Izuku's eyes widened. "It's the Space Hero Thirteen!" he exclaimed, a spark of admiration lighting his face. Beside him, Kai felt a familiar sensation wash over him, a tingling in his eyes that suddenly turned everything a fiery red before returning to normal.

He shook his head, trying to clear the fog that momentarily clouded his thoughts. "Are you okay, Kai?" Momo asked with concern, her voice cutting through the haze. "Yeah. Just felt light-headed for a sec," Kai replied, forcing a smile even as dread crept into his stomach. Suddenly, a swirling black-purple hole opened in the center of the building, and a man stepped through, cloaked in darkness.

Panic rippled through the students as villains began to pour out of the rift, each more terrifying than the last. Among them, a hulking figure with a grotesque bird for a head caught Kai's eye. "What the hell is that?" Kai blurted, taken aback. "Where is that man? Where is All Might?" shouted a blue-haired boy, his voice laced with desperation. The chaos around them intensified, and Momo's mind raced.

"How did so many get inside?" Amara, a fierce but calm presence, noted the strange sense of foreboding that clung to the air. "Something is weird; I doubt they just showed up for no reason. I've got a bad feeling about this." Aizawa sprang into action, charging towards the villains with unwavering resolve.

"You guys stay here and don't move. Thirteen, protect the students!" he barked, his voice steady amid the chaos. "Wow, he's holding them back!" Izuku marveled, watching Aizawa's swift movements as he took down several villains. "Let's go!" Iida shouted, leading the charge towards the doors, but their escape was abruptly halted as another rift opened, swallowing everyone in its chaotic embrace.

"Crap, I was paying attention to that purple thing; I forgot," Kai thought, panic surging through him as he felt himself being pulled into the void. He emerged, disoriented and soaked, as he instinctively propelled himself into the air. Above the fray, he spotted a villain menacing his friends. Without hesitation, he flew down, seizing the villain by the neck and hurling him aside.

"It's him; I finally found you. Number 678," a scientist shouted, lurking behind the monstrous figure. He injected a glowing orange fluid into the creature, its muscles pulsating ominously. "Watch out!" Kai yelled, racing towards Momo and Jiro. "You two okay?" They nodded, determination etched on their faces. Amara showcased her martial arts prowess, dispatching villains with graceful precision.

"Okay, we just gotta hold off until Iida gets help," he thought, watching Aizawa engage the formidable Humanoid creature. Aizawa, with his fierce determination, launched a series of punches and kicks, but the nomu countered with uncanny speed, grabbing Aizawa and slamming him to the ground. "I didn't have time to reach," Aizawa thought, pain flaring in his eyes.

"Get away from him!" Kai yelled, adrenaline surging through him as he soared into the air and punched the nomu, sending it crashing into the nearby trees. He landed beside Aizawa, who was struggling to rise. "Aizawa sensei, are you okay?" "It's good to meet you again, number 678," a sinister voice cut through the chaos. Kai's eyes widened in shock as he recognized the man responsible for tormenting him during the experiments.

Fueled by rage, Kai flew toward him, fists clenched, but the nomu intercepted him, catching his punch with ease. Before he knew it, Kai was slammed into the ground and tossed into a set of stairs, the impact resonating through his body. "Hey, that wasn't the plan. I want All Might," the blue-haired man sneered, his eyes glinting with malice.

"And you? I just want to see how that boy's powers work." Kai, battered but not broken, pushed himself back to his feet. He flew at the nomu once more, but the creature was relentless. It grabbed him by the neck, slamming him into the ground and raining down punches, each blow igniting a fire within Kai.

He could feel the pressure building in his eyes, the familiar sensation turning into something more intense. Suddenly, his eyes glowed a vibrant red, and he unleashed a powerful energy, shooting twin beams from his gaze. The nomu was sent soaring into the air. Seizing the moment, Kai soared upward, delivering a brutal punch that sent the creature crashing through the ceiling, and then he followed it down, hammer-fisting the nomu into the ground, creating a crater that shook the surrounding area.

"I actually felt all those punches. What is that thing?" Kai thought, wiping the blood from his mouth and nose. He looked around, noticing the astonished expressions on his friends' faces. "Kai is actually hurt? That thing made him bleed for the first time," Amara reflected, her worry evident. As if the nomu had heard their thoughts, it began to rise again, more determined than ever. Kai couldn't let it regain its footing.

He charged back down, fists flying, delivering blow after blow. But the nomu caught one of his punches and backfisted him, staggering him backward. With a ferocious roar, the creature charged, sending Kai crashing into a nearby building, the walls crumbling around him.

Amara's heart raced as she stood her ground against the monstrous Nomu, its red eyes glinting with menace. "You're gonna pay for that!" she screamed, adrenaline surging through her veins. In an instant, a fierce red aura enveloped her, amplifying her speed to blinding levels. With a powerful kick, she stunned the creature, the force radiating through her body.

Before it could recover, she unleashed a rapid flurry of punches, each one striking with precision and power. "Such a powerful quirk, but it's not gonna be enough," sneered the scientist observing the chaos. He watched with a mixture of intrigue and disdain, but then a question arose in his mind. "Hey, why does she look so similar to All Might?" Meanwhile, amidst the rubble, Kai struggled to get to his feet. "Kai, are you okay?" Ochaco asked, her quirk helping him clear away the debris. He coughed, spitting out blood, and nodded.

"Yeah." But his heart raced, not just from the injury but from the realization that the Nomu's power felt like an echo of All Might's strength. "Damn. That thing can't have a normal quirk. It punches even harder than All Might's," he thought, clenching his fist. "I don't know what that ability was, but I'm gonna need it again." With a surge of determination, Kai's eyes glowed red as he propelled himself out of the building, ready to join the fight.

Just as he soared into the air, Amara found herself caught in the Nomu's grasp, its grip tightening around her head. Panic surged through her, but before despair could take root, two red beams shot forth, striking the creature and sending it crashing through the walls of the USJ. "Are you okay, Amara?" Kai asked, helping her to her feet.

"Yeah. I barely even hurt it. Kai, go after All Might! But right now, my dad isn't strong enough to fight that thing," Amara urged, worry etched across her face. "That's why I'm gonna take it down," Kai declared, his resolve igniting within him. He flew towards the Nomu, ready to face the looming threat.

"Looks like it's over," the blue-haired man commented, his voice laced with a mix of doubt and anticipation. "Yeah, for the Nomu," the scientist replied, a smirk creeping onto his face. As Kai floated above the battlefield, he expertly dodged the Nomu's super-speed attacks, each movement calculated and fluid. With a hard punch, he sent the creature crashing into the ground.

Grabbing the Nomu's head, Kai focused his energy, vaporizing its brain with searing beams of power, pushing past its regenerative abilities. "Ahhhhh!" he screamed, pouring every ounce of strength into the final blow. With a deafening silence following the explosion of energy, Kai finally collapsed to the ground, the sunlight cascading over him, healing his bruises and revitalizing his spirit.

"Oh, I see. So that's how he's so strong—the sun. Okay, time to go before you start scratching yourself," the scientist said, retreating through a swirling purple portal, leaving chaos in their wake. Kai stared at the slowly healing Nomu, his eyes glowing red once more, but hesitation gripped his heart. "I can't do it, Amara. I can't kill this thing," he confessed, his voice trembling. "I know. That's just who you are. Don't ever change that," Amara reassured him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. The surrounding classmates buzzed with excitement, their curiosity piqued.

"Kai, that was so cool! What was that quirk? So you don't just have super strength and flying; you also have heat vision!" they bombarded him with questions, eager for answers. "Guys, I'm just as confused as you. But Aizawa-sensei needs help," Kai replied, shaking off the momentary distraction. With renewed determination, he took to the skies, soaring toward Aizawa and Thirteen. Meanwhile, Izuku watched the scene unfold from a distance, frustration bubbling inside him. "I was helpless. I couldn't do a thing," he thought.

"Are you sure, Kai?" All Might's voice echoed in the dimly lit room, a mix of concern and urgency etched on his face. The young hero nodded, his expression hardened by memories he couldn't shake off. "Yeah, that definitely was one of the scientists that held me captive in that place."

All Might frowned deeply, the weight of the revelation settling like a heavy fog. "I'm more worried about what you said. That thing was almost as strong as you; it even made you bleed." Nezu, interjected, his beady eyes keenly assessing the situation. "I think the attack on USJ was planned for two reasons: one, to kill All Might; and second, to test your powers, Kai." The realization hit Kai like a punch to the gut.

"And I let them go." The weight of his regret pulled him down, his shoulders slumping under the burden of his perceived failure. "You did everything you could. Even saving Aizawa. You did good, kid," All Might reassured him, rubbing the back of his head, attempting to uplift Kai's spirits. As the minutes ticked by in silence, Nezu broke it with a question, "So, what are you thinking?"

"That he's finally making his move," All Might stated gravely. "And we'll need to keep close tabs on Kai." Meanwhile, in the solitude of his room, Kai wrestled with his thoughts. Images of the experiments and torturous moments flooded his mind, a dark reminder of his past.

"I'm never going back. I swear I will end them if I have to," he vowed, his eyes glowing crimson with determination. The next day dawned, bright and unassuming, but for Kai, it felt heavy with unspoken threats. As he walked to class, he tried to cast aside his thoughts, but the shadow of the scientist loomed large. "Good morning, Kai!" Momo greeted with her usual warmth, a gentle smile brightening her face. "Morning," Kai responded.
