Chapter 25 - chapter 25:Crush them

Sakazuki stepped in the air, and at the moment his leg kicked upward, a cluster of white mist-like substances formed around the tip of his foot. This was a peculiar phenomenon associated with breaking the sound barrier, referred to in his previous life's scientific community as Prandtl-Glauert condensation clouds, commonly known as "sonic boom clouds."

In his past life, humanity needed supersonic jets to achieve this, but here, it was possible solely with the human body. The "Six Powers," considered techniques surpassing human physical limits, were aptly named.

As one of the Six Powers, "Moonwalk" was surprisingly simple in principle compared to "Life Return," which required meditation and training to sense and freely control the practitioner's limbs, organs, blood vessels, and even pores and hair.

After a brief buildup of strength, the technique generated thrust through a powerful kick, propelling the user so that the explosive thrust allowed for brief hovering upon breaking the sound barrier.

In his previous life's terminology, when an object approached the speed of sound, it experienced a strong resistance causing violent oscillation and deceleration—a phenomenon known as the "sound barrier."

Moonwalk leveraged the user's immense physical strength to break the sound barrier, allowing them to alter their trajectory mid-air and accelerate again before descending. It enabled the user to attack enemies from any angle. As Sakazuki described it, the essence of Moonwalk was supersonic kicking.

With several sharp, intense bursts that tore through the atmosphere, the members of the Black Sam Pirates were astonished to see a figure in a high-collared coat swiftly approaching, accompanied by successive cannon blasts. "Impossible?!" Sam Roberts could no longer maintain his calm composure. In his horrified gaze, the dark-red figure crashed directly onto the deck of the Vital.

The violent impact sent everyone on the pirate ship's deck staggering. As the captain, Sam gripped the helm tightly, his eyes fixed on the large hole smashed into the deck. The hole's edges seemed molten, and thick smoke billowed from its center.

Known as "Black Sam," the light-framed captain gestured to his crew to surround the gaping hole with weapons drawn. He knew that to escape this pursuit, they had to eliminate the lone Marine daring to attack their ship.

Sakazuki found himself increasingly fond of this overwhelming offensive approach. Against numerous weak enemies, it easily gave him a psychological advantage.

The sheer intimidation and visual impact could shatter the morale of disorganized groups. His body turned elemental as he stepped onto the burning edge of the deck.

"Fire!" Before Sam could give the order, his well-coordinated pirate crew had already pulled their triggers in unison, intending to riddle the tall figure with bullets. They succeeded—Sakazuki's body was riddled with bullet holes. However, not a single drop of blood flowed from these countless wounds. Instead, within the holes, one could faintly see molten, wax-like fluid in shades of orange-red and dark red, slowly repairing the damage.

The towering figure radiated intense heat, reminiscent of searing magma flowing beneath the earth. The bullets that passed through his body melted from the high temperature, losing their momentum and landing on the deck as small pools of molten lead, resembling metallic blossoms adorning this demonic figure.

But how was this possible?! Magma, which gathered its power within volcanoes and flowed beneath the earth, couldn't possibly manifest in a person! This thought echoed in the minds of the attacking pirates. Sam's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the unscathed Marine.

Unlike the clueless pirates around him, Sam, born in the North Blue, had some knowledge. From the moment he saw the crimson figure crashing onto the deck, he suspected this lone pursuer had a trump card—likely a Devil Fruit user. However, he never imagined the opponent would be this formidable. The invulnerability to bullets was a hallmark of Logia users.

Even in the hero-laden North Blue, a Logia Devil Fruit user was among the elite. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect such a monstrous figure to come after him specifically. There were countless fearsome pirates with bounties over a hundred million berries, yet this monster had chosen him.

Standing motionless, Sakazuki coldly locked his gaze on Sam in the distance. He stomped heavily. From the point of impact, a ring of dark-red molten fluid radiated outward like ripples on water, emitting choking black smoke. Suddenly, the molten ring exploded outward like a blast of crimson magma, spreading rapidly in all directions.

From his elevated vantage point, Sam could see it more clearly. The overhead view made him feel as though he was in hell itself, watching a fiery crimson lotus bloom with Sakazuki at its center—a deadly and mesmerizing flower of the underworld.

"AAAAHHHHHH!!!" "Help me!" "My hand! MY HAND!!! AAAHHHH!!"

The pirates surrounding Sakazuki screamed and collapsed as the magma's terrifying adhesive quality clung to their skin, melting flesh, blood vessels, and even the toughest bones.

The unbearable heat quickly charred and carbonized their bodies. Severed limbs and burnt stumps littered the deck. One or two unlucky souls had their heads completely engulfed by the magma, collapsing lifelessly without even a scream.

The few pirates who managed to avoid the magma scrambled away in terror, desperately trying to put as much distance as possible between themselves and this calamity.

The Marine Vice Admiral expanded the range of his elemental magma, increasing the burning area. The Vital was soon engulfed in flames. A bold, bearded pirate with reddened eyes tried to sneak up behind Sakazuki, wielding a machete and striking with all his might.

The blade cleanly sliced through Sakazuki's back, but the white-vested pirate showed no joy. There was no sensation of cutting through flesh, no resistance—his slash felt like cutting into mud.

Before the bearded pirate could react, he lost his balance and fell into a pool of magma he had dislodged.

In mere seconds, the blade of his machete, engulfed in molten lava, began glowing red, while his burly body collapsed onto the burning deck. From the neck up, he was reduced to a smoldering, charred skull.

Even the most hardened, ruthless pirates were horrified by the scene. Smoke filled the air as Sakazuki slowly walked toward the helm. In the terrified eyes of the pirates, he resembled a demon of flames emerging from the abyss.
