Chapter 7 - Dungeon

In the dark and silent cave, I sit here alone, my body, which was wet from the rain, is starting to dry.

I try to stand and walk, looking around the cave.

Tears continue to flow, even though I try to hold them back. I cannot hold them back. I cannot save him.

'Dad....Mom....'

The humans who have taken everything from me. They not only killed my parents but also killed a part of me.

This pain runs deeper than physical wounds. It is a wound that shatters my soul.

I continue to walk while looking around the cave.

This cave seems to be large, the atmosphere dark and cold, with the sound of dripping water adding to the eerie feeling.

Inside, I feel isolated, as if the outside world no longer exists.

There are glowing rocks on the ceiling of the cave to slightly illuminate the path.

I cautiously enter the cave deeper, occasionally glancing outside to ensure no one is following.

As I step further into the cave, the air feels colder and more humid. The dark, rough walls of the cave are covered in green moss, while the sound of dripping water echoes softly in the distance. Each of my steps reverberates, creating a sense of solitude that thickens.

Suddenly, there is an unexpected change. Without warning, the ground beneath my feet trembles violently, and strange light begins to emanate from cracks in the cave floor.

'What is this!?'

Before I could react, a mysterious force pulls my body downward, and in the blink of an eye, I feel as if I am being thrown into a deep hole.

'Ouch!'

When I open my eyes, I find myself in a very different place. The dark, damp cave has transformed into a vast, ancient cave.

The walls are adorned with ancient carvings, and there are pillars rising above. The atmosphere of this cave feels even more oppressive.

'Where is this!?'

I look around in disbelief. The walls of the cave, seemingly thousands of years old, are covered with mysterious carvings that I cannot decipher.

The towering pillars give the impression that this place was once a sacred site or perhaps a forgotten temple. The atmosphere is so heavy, as if something is lurking in the shadows.

I try to stand and walk around.

'A dungeon?' I think, trying to calm myself.

'Am I really in a dungeon?'

My steps slowly hit the hard floor, the sound echoing in this vast space. I can feel the cold, damp air touching my skin, but there is a strange warmth rising in my chest. This atmosphere is not only mysterious but also terrifying.

Suddenly, I hear a crackling sound from the depths of the dungeon, like something moving slowly. My heart races, and I quickly crouch down, trying to find shelter behind a large pillar.

There, I see a giant centipede, two meters long.

I hold my breath, my body stiff behind the cold pillar.

'What should I do?'

I feel an incredible tension as the giant centipede approaches, its body moving slowly, each of its legs creating a terrifying crackling sound in this vast space.

I can almost feel the cold aura emanating from its dark, slick body, as if the creature is a part of the darkness itself.

'Calm down... don't panic,' I think, trying to soothe myself. I know that if I panic, I will make a mistake that could be fatal.

The centipede continues to move, and I realize that it is sniffing the air, as if searching for something.

I hold my breath, trying to eliminate any trace of my sound. My heart beats fast, as if it can almost hear it. If this centipede gets closer, I won't have much time to escape.

I slowly shifted my gaze, looking for a way to escape. Nearby, there was a narrow passage leading deeper into this dungeon.

It could be an exit, but I had to get past the centipede first. Perhaps there was a way to distract it or even fight it.

I looked around, searching for objects I could use. On the other side of the large pillar, there were several large stones scattered on the floor. The stones weren't too big, but they were enough to throw and create some noise.

If I could throw one of those stones in the opposite direction, maybe I could make the centipede turn for a moment, giving me a chance to run toward the narrow passage.

I grasped one of the stones with my trembling hand, preparing myself to throw it. Once again, I glanced at the centipede, it was almost right in front of me, just a few meters away. I knew this was a dangerous decision, but I had no other choice.

With all my strength, I threw the stone as far as I could, toward the corner of the room on the right side of the centipede.

The stone flew through the air, hitting the floor with a loud noise, breaking the silence in this dungeon.

The centipede immediately turned, swiftly gliding toward the sound coming from the fallen stone.

I breathed a sigh of relief; this was my chance. Without hesitation, I jumped out from behind the pillar and ran as fast as I could toward the narrow passage.

My steps felt heavy, my body exhausted, but the adrenaline fueled my will to survive.

However, just before I reached the passage, I heard the crackling sound again.

"Shaaaassshhh!!" (the sound of the centipede)

It made a louder noise and was very close. The centipede turned out to be not so easily fooled. It slid back with incredible speed, and I knew that if I didn't act quickly, I would be caught.

Suddenly, I remembered something.

I forgot... that I had a skill.

I tried to activate my dash skill.

'Dash!'

As soon as I thought of the word 'dash' my body suddenly felt light, as if the whole world slowed down.

In an instant, I shot forward with incredible speed, passing through the narrow passage with only a few centimeters between me and the stone wall.

I heard the sound of the ground and stones scraping as I moved quickly, but the centipede was still following me, occasionally making the sound of its large body scraping against the floor.

I kept running, feeling the wind rushing past my ears, but the centipede was getting closer.

Suddenly, I saw a sharp turn ahead, an opportunity to evade.

With all my strength, I changed direction instantly and turned sharply to the right.

In an instant, I felt as if I had escaped the shadow of the centipede, which was still stuck in the old passage. But I knew this was only temporary.

I had to think fast, because even though the centipede was slightly behind, it could catch up to me at any moment.

'I have to fight that monster...'
